I use it with my MacBook pro to extend my display. The quality isn't quite as great as a monitor, but it does the job if you're working on a huge spreadsheet or something like that. I also connect it to a cable box, which is great. If I were to do it again, I'd probably just get a monitor for higher quality resolution. Most of my tv watching these days is on Hulu and Netflix, so I don't think I'd really miss the option of plugging into a cable box.
