Fair picture quality, remote will not control DVD

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The difference in picture quality between this 720p TV and full HD 1080p is dramatic, with 4k magnificent, even with upscaling DVD quality content. The picture on this TV is meh at best. The pixels are large and the sharpness is poor. No HDR, so color quality is meh too. It is like they went down in picture quality from the previous generation. Although the remote is fine for Fire TV and the Apps, it will not control any external devices, like DVD, Blu-Ray or Satellite TV or Sound Bar or External Amp or anything else. How hard would it have been to include a unified remote for even the most basic of features. Not impressed. The sound quality, as mentioned by others is fair. However, there is no subwoofer output to help fill the sound field, and the headphone jack turns off the internal speakers. If not for the size (a normal much better less expensive 40" will not fit my cabinet), I would suggest you look elsewhere for a better TV.
