I tested both the data transfer and charging capability and each work as expected. I actually use this on the back of my all-in-one computer, not a laptop, because it's a pain to get to the USB port on the back so I basically use it as an extension.

I sometimes have 3 2TB hard drives connected to my 27in. iMac with no problems. Occasionally connect flash drives. Photo shows 16gb Flash drv, 2TB drv, 1TB drv, and iPhone 12 charging. No issues from my experience.

Good Addons for my home office setup

It’s not perfect. But it did charge my phone and my Xbox Series controller even functioned like it should. But if you are doing gaming videos or livestreams, you may not want to us your mic or webcam on. It does technically work, but the quality is isn’t as good. Just connect those accessories to a USB 3.0 port on the computer itself.

My computer only has two regular usb ports and 1 usb c. I have quite a few things connected to my laptop so I needed more usb ports and these have worked great.
