    The Roku is Poor

    This is a Roku TV, meaning that the whole user experienced is built around Roku. I was really excited about this since I thought it would be a great way to cut out one of our extra remotes since we're avid Roku users. Unfortunately, the built-in Roku is subpar. Terribly so. For weeks my wife complained about extreme lag times and streaming so poor that watching shows without stutter or blackouts was impossible. Once I arrived, I started checking our internet service, thinking that was the culprit. We have always had our Roku devices hard wired to network so I thought the poor connection was due to reliance on wifi (the TV only allows wifi connection). It wasn't the network, 10ms latency, solid 150mbps down. Then I decided to plug our Roku stick into this TV from the set we use in another room. Bam, full HD high speed Roku experience! It's not our network, it's the TVs own built-in device. If you want this for Roku, look elsewhere. This TV will disappoint you terribly.

    I purchased this t.very. this morning with high hopes. Once home we assembled the unit and turned it on- only to have the upper portion of the unit blurred and only the bottom of the unit visible. Now I have to make a return trip to my local store and hope that this can be made right.

    This TV is replacing an old tube TV and will not be used very often so I was not concerned with a great quality picture. It definitely is not a great quality picture. The biggest issue is the blacks. They are bad and there is a lot of distortion and blooming. Off angle viewing is not good. I think TV is fair quality for the sale price I paid for it. I still don't understand why they stopped making plasma TV,s. I have 2 of them and the picture is still better than any LED for the price. Only 4k TV's are better than plasma but the prices are not worth it.

    Shortly after the warranty expiring, this TV started randomly turning off and on, cycling sometimes six or seven times an hour. There were no helpful suggestions in the manual. Looking in the forums, it seemed that this same problem happened to a LOT of customers. Several complicated "solutions" were posted, but no indication that it solved the problem. I emailed customer service, and their only solution was basically "Reboot it." When that didn't help, they gave a (very polite) shrug, and told me I'd have to take it into "a local technician" -- which would cost more than it would to replace it. I'll have to buy a new TV, but NOT an Insignia!

    I purchased an Insginia LED 40" TV back in February 2015. This TV has worked fine and I believe the Insignia Brand to be of good quality. I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

    I wouldn't buy this tv again. Only had it 17 months and it completely died!! I went to switch channels and that was it.

    Worst TV Ever

    Slightly over a year (so out of warranty of course) and TV won't stay on for more than a few minutes at a time. After a little internet research apparently a common issue with Insignia brand. Great price (mine even better since it was a gift) but BUYER BEWARE!! If you don't have enough sense to buy a better brand at least buck up for the long extended warranty. At least you'll have a fall back.

    We have had an Insignia 40 inch for less than 4 years. The television was minimally used and it no longer works. It started randomly shutting off and now will not turn on at all. The repair costs more than the TV is worth. Meanwhile, my 20+ year old TV is still going strong. Not sure how we have regressed this much with technology. Not purchasing this brand again.

    Read reviews and thought it was a good deal. Since having it, can see the picture quality is not the best. I luckily purchased for the bedroom, so only I really see the poor quality. Good thing I decided to keep it because Best Buy has the worst customer service and return/exchange policy. If you plan on buying from them, make sure you want it!

    Open box purchase

    The tv was obviously defective and BB still sold it as a geek squad certified item. When unpacking at home, there was a strong burnt smell. New electronics usually have an odd smell, packaging material etc. Once plugged in the smell increased after a few hours of watching. Returned to store and CS agreed the item was defective. I would caution on buying open box items.
