i am happy it works and saved money. i think big brand names just want too much. its awful when people spend a months salary. i have 2 insignia tv and they work just as there suppose to. if i have to add 'knock on wood', i think it would have been the same odds with those more expensive ones but with less principal.

Lightweight, clear and extremely easy to use. I've seen TV's that cost $100 more that don't have the picture quality of this one. Way to go, Best Buy!

For a mid sized television this insignia 43inch is perfect for those who want a pretty big screen on a budget. While there is nothing special about this tv, the price is perfect for someone who just simply needs a TV. However there are two problems I have with this television set. The two "feet" that screw in to the bottom to support the surprisingly heavy TV are very loose and allow the tv to tilt forward slightly. Secondly, the speakers vibrate violently and make a muffled buzzing noise when watching anything other than the news. Watching an action movie with these speakers is unbearable so it is necessary to purchase a sound bar, subsequently adding to the cost of this tv.

I researched 39-43" tv's for a while. The idea was to move an older LCD to the garage and replace the bedroom tv with a newer one. I pondered with the notion of getting the 40" Insignia Smart TV. I had a Roku streaming stick in the bedroom already, so I went with the 43" Insignia. It has worked perfect. The picture is great and the sound is fine.

The TV is nice, picture quality is good, however, I had some issues. When I initially set up the TV it was working great, the only downside was there is no audio out on the TV, so if I wanted to use my sound bar it either had to be used all the time, or I could unplug it and use the volume on the set. Not a deal breaker for me since I really only use the sound bar for movies. Anyhow, after about two weeks of everything working properly, I turned on the TV, and it was zoomed in too much. I was unable to select “Auto” from Aspect Ratio Settings because it was grayed out (although it was working for 2 weeks prior). They will tell you to change a setting on “Channels”, but I was also unable to select that option because it was also grayed out. After rebooting TV, Dish box, etc, and reading on this issue for almost 4-5 hrs, I realized this is a known issue with Insignia TVs and certain cable providers. It is not the cable box, as I have only had this issue with Insignia TVs (I have 3). Why I bought another, I’m not sure, but I will not make the mistake again. Since it worked fine for those 2 weeks, I had already gotten rid of the packaging, so I could not return. It seems to work fine if using a splitter, but not when connected to the box directly. Needless to say, my husband is VERY happy to get a brand new TV for his garage. I on the other hand am BUMMED and now stuck with the old one.

If you are connected to a cable box via HDMI, it will gray out some menu items as those settings will be source controlled. If you are having issues with the set I would refer you to our Support team for troubleshooting assistance at www.InsigniaProducts.com/support/contact.html - Jon, Insignia Support BBY-ExBrand_Insignia
