8 month malfunction
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV because the price seemed reasonable and I needed a TV for the bedroom to use infrequently, but after just 8 months the screen went bad, half the screen is just one gray bar and another black bar while the other vertical half is perfect . Poor quality,

Very Good Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I already had Roku internet tv so I didn't want to waste money on a smart tv with features that I didn't need. This Insignia is a good, basic no frills LED back lit tv that is made by LG for Best Buy. It has a good picture and stereo sound, whether through the speakers or with the (rare in tvs) headphone jack. What I don't like is having to use ".1" at the end of channels when using the remote. To go directly to channel 2 or 8, for instance, you have to key in "2.1 or 8.1" instead of just "2 or 8". That's annoying. I also don't like the feet instead of a central post stand. Even though I installed them snugly, the tv would wobble when ever it was nudged and it didn't seem very secure. I solved that by making a wooden bracket and fastening it to the back of my tv cabinet. Then I attached a vesa mount to the tv and anchored it to the bracket. Now I don't have to worry about it tipping over if someone bumps it or an earthquake hits. Other than that, a nice tv.

Great TV for the "today only" price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is great and the "today only" price was too good to pass up. Wasn't looking to buy another TV but so glad I did & moved up to a larger screen size. Now I wish I'd purchased two.

Bad product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every 5 minutes the screen fades black, audio still on. Insignia customer service said it's overheating and I should "put a fan on it.". Returning it tomorrow, and it will be the last insignia product I buy.

Amazing TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv was such a steal! I had been monitoring Best Buy's website for the past few weeks trying to find the right tv for a great price. I finally went into the store last night and asked about this one in particular. It was HUGE. I didn't expect it to be that big, but I love it! Only thing I dislike is that the back is a tad bit chunky, but I can live with that. The screen itself is super sleek. Great price for a huge tv. I definitely would recommend this to anyone! p.s. The store associate was also amazing. Great guy!

another good insignia product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.when buying a new hdtv you might be pressed for to buy a house hold brand name. with these sets you might get a decent picture but they add so many unnecessary gimmicks that might make the set worse that it should be. for example a 60hz TV might have software added to make you believe that the tv is capable of 120hz ect. companies lie to you to buy their sets and charge a fortune. this is why i love insignia, they give you exactly what they advertise. no bs false technology. I have been trying to get a bigger tv in my living room for a while now. I started with the insignia 39" 720p model. which is a really great set for the 200 price marker. after I got my budget in order I had more money to go out and invest in a better tv set. I returned it and went with a vizio 40" smart tv for 140 dollars more. that was defective. took it back and got another model for 30 dollars more. that too was defective. I will write my reviews on those later. I then decided to just roll with a 43" insignia which im glad i did. but compared to the lower resolution to the 39" model I would roll with that and save a 100 bucks. the tv is primarily a gaming tv. even on 120hz and up sets game mode normally switches your tv to 60hz to cut back on input lag. most tv sets are now 60hz with a minimum of 6.5ms seconds of response time unless they are 4k or OLED and thats a whole new ball game. for video games this set is really great. you do need to calibrate it though as with most insignias the tv has too much of everything on it out of the box. If you want a big tv in your living room then get this model. Those with no devices like gaming consoles or roku might want to get a smart tv version which is around the same price for a 40" model of this brand. if you're that hard up and want a big enough tv go with the 39" model for 100 less. pros - no false technology advertising -best buy brand so is anything is wrong they can fix it there through geek squad - big picture size for the price all though it could be cheaper compared to other sizes - great picture. beats out some name brands for higher prices - one of the bests out there for gaming. CONs - no live color enhancement to compete with big brands - not so great viewing angles

Quality Image at a Low Cost
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 43" Insignia HD TV is my first experience with LED video, having been using only plasma screens for the past fifteen years. I wasn't expecting much beyond a clear, bright picture … but I was pleasantly surprised with the brilliance, color reproduction, and overall quality of this monitor/television. As Insignia/Best Buy techs have admonished to other reviewers, the source video is everything; subpar and low definition source material will provide a poor picture at 1920x1080 resolution. A good reference video that I like to use when evaluating HD picture quality is the movie, "Avatar." Though, I've found this Insignia model to perform remarkably well even with 480 DVD's, thanks to the available preset video modes and fine tuning options available with the TV. For $229.00, this HD TV performs remarkably well; offers good color, excellent contrast, and clean, clear HD picture quality. Audio quality from the internal speakers is what you'd expect from a big screen TV – which is nothing to write home about. I'd recommend an external home theater system, or at the very least, a sound bar. Cons: The Insignia HD TV has a minimal of connection options, including only one digital audio output (Toslink – Optical.) There's no coaxial digital audio output, and no video outputs, whatsoever. There is one analog audio output, which of course, doesn't provide DTS or Dolby Digital sound. There's no option to use the TV's speakers as "Center" in a surround sound environment. And most frustrating is that the Insignia's A/V Audio Input and its analog AUDIO Output are not synchronized with the Optical audio output; the analog signals are delayed by about 0.2 seconds. The Insignia's "Audio Delay" setting only allows you to further delay the audio; you're unable to adjust the delay, negatively, in order to correct this issue. There's neither wired or wireless connectivity as well, which is a very inexpensive feature to implement and one that is basically standard with all multimedia devices being manufactured today. The AUDIO Out connection lets you select "variable" or "fixed" output, so that you can use your external audio system's remote to control the TV's speaker volume. This doesn't seem to work properly, as neither setting allowed my Sony Home Theater System remote to control the TV's speaker volume, nor was the optical output to my sound system controlled by the TV's remote. The manual, which is only available online, is pretty light on details. For instance, image burn-in protection isn't mentioned in the manual, nor are their settings to prevent it. There's a caution against leaving a still image on-screen for extended periods of time, but "extended periods" isn't defined. Ten minutes? Ten hours? Ten days? LED screens typically aren't very susceptible to burn-in, and the I've found no 'screen saver' option for the TV, which seems odd for a video device that warns against 'burn-in'. It's also interesting that the Noise Reduction setting refers to video noise as "snow", such as you'd see with a poor reception with an analog tuner. I believe they're referring to compression artifacts and block noise. How "Adaptive Contrast" works isn't really explained; you can assume contrast changes either by environmental brightness and/or video scene, but I'm not sure. Overall, I'm very pleased with the performance of the Insignia 43" HD LED TV and would recommend it to anyone desiring clear, crisp, HD video at a low cost, even though its features are pretty limited. All settings are easy to make through the TV's menu system, and setup takes only a few minutes.

Do Not Purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv back in December of 2015. It worked well for a couple months, but shortly after green lines began to appear periodically on the screen. I guess I got what I paid for this time. Fortunately it was still under warranty and I was able to return it. But, I definitely won't be buying an Insignia tv any time soon.

TV is all it should be. Customer Service; awesome!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The quality of the TV is all it should be and them some for the price! Picture is great, set-up easy and intuitive... But, I had a basic question about HD picture settings so I e-mailed customer service... which, by the way, was easy to find and to do. A response came back quickly and in the friendly, concise language of a real person! No "boilerplate" apologizing for the, "distress, anguish, and life-threatening inconvenience this matter has caused me." Just, a friendly, patient, "real person," with time to answer my question in "non-robotic" terms! Customer relations is a HUGE thing with me and these kids at Insignia have easily won my dedication!
