I purchased the 43 insignia when it was $249 to replace a 6 month old LG that my son accidentally threw a toy sword at the screen and broke it. I did not want to spend $349 on another LG considering I got very lucky and got it as an open box for $239. Unfortunately this TV was awful. The colors were dull and washed out. All HDMI connected devices, dish hopper HD and Blu Ray player. Nothing looked good and could not get a good adjustment out of the settings. I wanted to like the TV because of the price but it went back two days later. The day before I returned it I bought the LG because I could not look at this TV anymore. I have an old 40" rca in our bedroom and it looked far superior to the insignia and so did my black Friday bargin Element 60" Maybe I got a bad one. But I would not recommend. If I was ready to put a TV in the boys room I would consider taking another chance at $199 but I would take it back just as fast.

Wish it worked beyond 30 days

This television was for my guest room. During the 30 days I owned the TV, it was used a total of 8 times. I had not used the television for a week and when I returned from vacation, my wife noticed a crack in the television. I called BestBuy online and they said despite being within 30 days, warranty is only 15 days...seriously? They referred me to Insignia 800 number and when I called Insignia didn't even greet me with the company name. I did verify, "Is this Insignia?" "Yes." The said to identify whether the crack occurred internally that I would need to go to a Go to Assist remote access website so they can access through my laptop a diagnosis of what to the TV to crack. I refused to give them access and hung up. I called the local Best Buy and the initial Geek Squad guy said the way the screen cracked, it appears to be an internal issue probably overheating. He called over his senior associate who said no it must have been someone hit the screen to crack it. I had no guests over who could have broken the screen Best Buy management said they could not do an exchange nor even give me a $10 give card...nada. Very disapppointed especially since I have bought a fridge, a dryer, 2 TVs, and 2 laptops, and a portable AC. Never again will I buy from Best Buy...ever.

the colors are odd and the sound is not good. it's a cheap set and shouldn't be your main one. it's hard to distinguish voices. by prepared to spend as much for a sound system as you did for the set. it's okay for kids or porch rooms, etc. if you want a good tv, spend real money. i'm sorry i bought this and i wouldn't buy this again.

    avoid Best Buy's "brand"

TV broke within four months (TV turned on but screen would stay dark, even though there was sound, I guess a common problem?) I had my credit card receipt from the bank but unaccountably the information wasn't in the store's system (how that can be true for a credit card transaction for a TV physically purchased in the store mystifies me), so too bad, so sad. I don't know if it would have made a difference if I had the actual receipt since what else did I buy at Best Buy for $249? According to the CSR, even though Insignia is Best Buy's brand, all you get is a number to call, not a replacement in the store. What a waste of $$. I will never shop at Best Buy again.
