Ok TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having purchased a Dynex over 10 years ago and then purchasing this TV I wish I would have purchased another Dynex. Quality is not the best, but you get what you pay for. Lesson learned!

Good tv for starters
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good picture but sometimes the volume doesn't come in and would have to turn tv off and on. Other than that it's a pretty good tv for the price

Needs operating system improvements
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tv locks up, kicks out or doesn't respond multiple times. Tv has to be unplugged and plugged back in to get it to respond or clear its error.

Ok picture for $$$
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV itself it alright, picture quality is par with the cost of the set. Dislike that it takes forever to come on, it's really annoying.

Should have read reviews
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This television was an impulse buy. I was in the store for something else, and figured I could use a television in another bedroom. The functionality is great, the availability of apps is great (in fact, it puts my Sony Bravia to shame. Sony Network sucks), and I love the remote design. The picture on the television is not bad, and I have it running on the economic settings. But there's an intermittent issue where it will not power on, the power indicator will just blink red, which I've learned means it needs service. I've had this for about a month. Further research shows that this is not uncommon on these Insignia TVs. I guess you get what you paid for...

Insigna roku! 48 inches of bad picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this tv was priced to good to be true... And like all things, you get what you pay for. My last tv was a sony bravia 55" that retailed in 2011 for $1900. So when i spent $330 on this insignia roku joint venture smart tv, i shouldve known better. This tv seem like it has burnt in images right outta the box! The built in audio processing is terrible. The only good thing about this tv is the ease of which switching from app to app is. There are buttons on the tiny remote for "hulu, netflix, sling, and one other popular video app service" If you can find this tv for under $300, pick it up for your kids or guest rooms. For the living room or adult bedroom televisons i would want somwthing with better quality and picture and all around better viewing experience.

Decent TV, Great buy, but may not be for everyone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Background- My wife and I have been wanting to get a tv for the bedroom that can go on the wall and allow us to remove an entertainment center and all the clutter and junk that goes with it. The plan was to buy a larger 65" or so television for the living room and relocate a 50" 7 yr old plasma to our bedroom. We decided to hold off on that expenditure and settle for a smaller new tv just for the bedroom and replace the living room one later. We stream 90% or more of our television and have four kids ages 7, 5, 3, and 1, so a smart tv was high on the list. We watch some sports and a lot of HD movies, but we are willing to sacrifice a little picture quality for overall functionality and we decided on this television with that perspective. With all this mind, Ill give as objective a review as possible in hopes it will help others. Review- Let me first start off by saying, we have had the TV for one day; and this television is not for everyone. If you are a sports fanatic or just have to have the best possible picture you can get in a tv, this one may not be for you. I got the tv yesterday around 4 pm, we left, came home around 8 pm, and I had it on the wall and working in less than an hour. It is very light, feels like a large computer monitor, and was very easy to install. I did everything by myself without help. So far we have watched a few soccer games, streamed childrens cartoons, gigglebellies videos from youtube, watched news channels, and streamed a few Sci-Fi movies. The streaming Roku component works flawlessly. We have not watched Blu-ray movies yet as I have to get a new Blu-ray player to replace the old one that was in our room and have not yet done so. The tv itself looks okay, but once you hold and handle it, it feels kind of cheap, the power and volume buttons are on the very bottom in the center, and they feel and look budget-made. For the price, this was expected and does not bother me. The tv itself doesn't look bad, but upon close inspection, you can tell it is in the price point it sells at. As far as quality, its too soon to say. The image actually looked better in the store, and I haven't watched any blu rays on it yet, but most of what we have watched so far has been decent to really good picture quality. Our bedroom is dark, so I adjusted the brightness from brightest to normal, and that did help. The sound is decent, actually acceptable, and is not as nice as a home theatre system nor is it as good as some other TV's out there; I do plan to get a good sound bar at some point. But overall the sound is acceptable in my opinion, not the worst Ive had in a tv nor the best. The picture quality is good, but there are better out there; again, for the price point, the picture is good, some things look very nice, some things look just decent; for us, it works just fine as it is. The soccer games we have watched have been alright, but nothing spectacular. My 7 yr old plasma actually has a beautiful high def picture and when I watch HD sports, I can see everything in high, nearly jaw dropping detail, this television isn't even close to that, not even remotely close, so if you live for sports, and HD sports at that, you will be disappointed. For us, its acceptable. Motion blur wasn't anything that stood out as a big problem, but someone might disagree. I think one of the things that most people will not like is that it is a Roku TV; there are some very good and some bad things that come with that. When you plug in the tv and turn on for the first time, you have to set it up; you have to start a roku account, which is free, if you haven't already and literally cant do anything until you do; you cant watch dvds through the hdmi, fire stick, stream, nothing, and I do mean nothing, until you have registered/logged in to Roku. Once you do that, it updates, and works flawlessly. The tv is capable of a 2.4 or 5.0 ghz wifi connection; this was a very pleasant surprise for me as we have a 2500 mbps wireless router that broadcasts in both 2.4 and 5.0, the 5.0 is faster and this tv will connect to that. So far we have had no slow-down in streaming or web services, none. Because of the Roku tv component, the tv settings are limited; I have not been able to find a way to custom adjust the picture settings other than choosing between levels of brightness. I will go through in more detail later this evening when the kids are asleep and hope to find a way to manually adjust the contrast, color, and so on. Also, from other posts on here about Roku tvs in general, the annoying "clicking" when changing channels, or how the tv defaults to the home screen when you turn off and on, these are all things you can customize and change, so it is simply a matter of find and adjusting the right setting. Anyone who streams will absolutely love this tv. I was leery to get a Roku tv because we have had not had good luck with Roku boxes in the past; we have enjoyed the devices and Roku service when they work, but our roku boxes don't last more than a year and we have literally gone through 4 or 5 roku boxes in the past 4-5 years. Our plasma tv does get pretty hot, and I think it is something related to that as friends and family have not had nearly the problems we have from the roku boxes, but the service itself we like when it works and I am hoping the roku tv is more durable than the luck we have had thus far. The Roku menus on this tv are extremely intuitive, good level of customization where it needs to be, and for us, works without a hitch. No slow downs. Again, if you stream, you will absolutely love this television. There are tons of preinstalled apps and so many more to choose from to add. Amazon video and music even come preinstalled so you can literally use your fire stick elsewhere, this tv consolidates pretty much all the common streaming devices into one television; Netflix, Hulu, Amazon services, Google services, etc are all preprogrammed and available. Synopsis- The tv is a great buy and good deal for the price you pay, and if you stream tv, you will absolutely love this one. If you do not stream, then you should probably get the $329 tv that is just a basic television. If you are a hardcore sports fan, this isn't your television. I cant comment yet on blu-ray movies. Picture quality is good but nothing to write home about. Sound is acceptable and not bad nor is it great. The Roku service/app works beautifully on a 5 ghz broadcast. I would definitely buy this tv again and recommend.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THE PICTURE IS GOOD AND THE SOUND IS DECENT HOWEVER IT CAN NOT AND WILL NOT HOLD THE WIFI SIGNAL I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY RE-CONNECT TO WIFI TO USE THE ROKU FEATURE WHICH IS WHY I GOT THE TV. THE ASSOCIATE DID NOT KNOW ALOT ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ORTHE OTHER ITEMS I PURCHASED THAT DAY. IM RATHER DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PRODUCT AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT DAY AND ON TWO PHONE CALLS TO THE STORE ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH THE TV. I HIGHLY DOUBT I WILL GO BACK ANYTIME SOON.
