    Major Fail Best Buy!!

    The unit worked like a charm up until the 30 day mark. Now the compressor won't turn on unless the unit is unplugged and plugged back in. The power light is on the whole time. I went into BB and they informed me that I can't get a replacement and that I'll need to bring the unit in so the Geek Squad can look at it. During a pandemic I have to bring my deep freezer into the store so it can be looked at? FOR REAL!!! What happened to customer satisfaction and safety?? Why can't the unit just be replaced with having to haul it into the store. It's a deep freezer, not something small like a toaster.

    When this item arrived it was damaged and the store no longer had them online or in stock.

    Brought it online picked it up got home had a big dent in it had to take it back up there and get a exchange smh I just got bad luck with bestbuy

    My second DOA Insignia freezer

    This maintained a nice 62 degrees for most of the 2 days I had it. Picked it up from Best Buy and it was definitely a new unit. Brought it home, leveled it, put it on a dedicated circuit and it started to cool. There was ice forming on the bottom and my thermometer said the air temp near the top was 39 degrees. I placed in some frozen foods and closed the lid, figuring all was well. The next morning everything was thawed and the air temp was 62 degrees. Powered it off, emptied it, wiped it down and let it sit a few hours. Tried again and plugged it in overnight. It is definitely "running" but no temp change after 12 hours. Time to bring it back to the store. I had already returned a larger Insignia freezer that was smashed in shipping, and since this was all that was in stock decided to try it out. I don't think I have faith in this brand at all, now. Too bad because I really need a freezer!

    Hard to determine how cold to make it

    Picked it up from the warehouse and it was damaged. The only good thing is they offered me a credit. Haven't received yet. That was a month ago.

    Okay for medium amount of food. Creates a lot of ice at times on sides of freezer.

    Returned this item after 11 days of use. Worked fine until day 10. We had our lights flicker, but no power outage. Well that momentary flicker was enough to trip the freezer into turning off. Well it does NOT turn back on automatically. We found this out the hard way, after 10 hours later opening the lid for some ice. We were greeted with a large pool of water in the bottom, and a room tempature freezer. According to the manual, you must manually turn off the freezer, wait 3 to 5 minutes, then turn it back on, as the freezer WILL NOT turn back on after power inturruptions. Good luck never having a power flicker / brown out, or power failure as this freezer will not restart on its own. And forget about 24 hours or more for frozen food if you DO have a power failure.

    The freezer is smaller then it looks but on top of that it came deeply dented on the side not okay

    Got it during lockdown. Makes some loud noise when it’s hot. The side panels also get quite hot when it’s keeping the inside cold.

    Trying to buy a new freezer

    I went in to purchase a new chest freezer for my garage. Was told by employees working that there was not one available for sale even though it said there was one online at this location. So I got back in my truck bought it online and picked it up from this location and hour later. The low star rating is for the employees not caring enough to help a customer.

    The Money Suck That Keeps On Sucking

    Where do I begin? Should I start with the fact that, despite paying full price, I received a damaged unit? It was only cosmetic and the only one in the area, so I kept it because I needed a freezer. But I should have paid the scratch and dent price, if nothing else. Or would the suckage be the fact that, not even a full two months into owning it, it stopped working? I bought mid-September of 2021 and it stopped working the first week of November, 2021. No warning, no funny sounds, nothing. This was kept in my small apartment kitchen, not somewhere like a garage; there should be no reason this quit. Or should the extra suckage be the absolute run-around that Best Buy gave me? I followed the instruction on the website and called the appliance hotline as instructed. They couldn't help me, of course. I have to call the store I purchased from, because of course I do! Do you think I was able to get the help I needed? NOPE! BUYER BEWARE. I'm also out $300+ on food...

    Icing/frosting on the upper lip of the freezer. Removed the ice three times via hand warming. Did three days of e-mailing and phone calls with Insignia. Very frustrating. Best Buy has stepped forward to exchange the unlt.

    I've had pretty good luck with insignia products but not this time. The 5 cu chest freezer, quit working less than 2 years after purchasing it. Can not recommend at all.

    Had 4 delivery dates, one date the truck came to my home open the truck and approach my door to tell me that my item was not on the truck. Super frustrating due to me going food shopping the day before and having to give away all the food that was brought. An additional delivery date was scheduled and canceled the day before delivery. I played my order April 4 and received it July 6th.

    Terrible and dented

    As with almost everyone else, when we got the freezer home, it had a big dent in the bottom corner. It works, but the dent is very noticeable. The freezer must have been dropped on that corner because the whole bottom corner area is smashed in and upwards. The person at Best Buy said I couldn’t open it in the store to see if it was dented. THAT IS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. It is not worth it to have to pack it all back up and go back to the store and hope there is another one in stock that you can’t look at to see if it is dented.
