    NOT reliable enough for storing breast milk

    We got this freezer in late February of 2022 in order to store breast milk. In early August I went retrieve some for use and the freezer had apparently stopped working within the prior week or two and we lost >3 months of stored breast milk. We had this freezer in our finished, climate-controlled basement with no home electrical issues in the prior weeks (or ever). Unplugging and then replugging in the freezer got it working again, but I will never trust it again and I remain very bitter given all the time and effort I put into pumping and storing this milk for my baby.

    Stops working, lost $500 worth of food.

    You get what you pay for, actually...you end up losing on this one. We lost $400-500 of meat because this freezer failed. Other reviews mention the same thing. It will power back on, but will fail a day or two later. Sure you can have the Geeksquad fix it but you are still left with an unreliable Insignia brand. Renters insurance nor Insignia will NOT cover thawed spoiled food. I bought it because it was cheap, well...learn from me, look for something else. if you absolutely insist on this unit, at least buy the extended 3-year warranty, the techs will visit you a few times to fix the unit but at least it'll be free.

    Good, but the light doesn't work.

    Seems decent so far, but the interior light doesn't come on when I open the lid, and the manual says nothing about it, so I assume I have a defective product. I need this addressed.

    Taking Freezer Full of Food to the Dump

    After having the freezer for 3 years I entered the garage to a foul smell. Thought something had died. The light on the freezer was still on, so I left it. Next day, I thought I better check the freezer even though the light is on. Yep, freezer stopped, light is still on, and now a freezer full of rotten food. Thanks Tegna!

    I picked it up on Friday, waited the 2 hours before plugging in. Placed a 16 oz bottle of water and bag of rice in the freezer to test it. Next day, neither frozen. Turned up to Max., Monday, two days later, not frozen. Returned to store. Customer service horrible!!! I was willing to exchange for a different freezer, thinking the one i purchased was a lemon. Never given option. Will look for freezer elsewhere.

    Might as well be a lemon

    Terrible product overall. Deep freezer worked great, until it didn't. Purchased in 2020 and here in 2023 it has randomly stopped working. Have only used it lightly throughout these 3 years, Customer support was no help and I will have to purchase another Deep Freezer elsewhere.

    Not safe for food storage

    After returning the first freezer, I am going to return the second as well. The freezer cannot maintain a safe temperature of 0 or below at the top. On the max setting The basket area is only 10-20 degrees and my food would spoil if I kept it in this freezer. I thought the first one was just defective so I exchanged it, but the second one did the same thing. You can even see that the frost will accumulate on the walls only below a certain level. I will not be buying this brand again.

    Waste of money. Will randomly stop freezing/working. Started a month after purchased. Talking to customer service to claim warranty is a convoluted mess. Overall never purchasing an insignia product again and this will be my last purchase from Best Buy.

    Dead Out of the Box

    Well, not quite dead. It lights up but no freezing. Are these tested before they leave the factory? There us absolutely no shipping damage. When I called for warranty support...the answer was....bring it back to the store. With all that's going on with the virus, I was anxious about having to go to the store a few days ago to get it...and now more anxious to have to go back to the store to return it. I see the other great reviews so I guess I got the lemon.

    Worst appliance.

    The worst appliance I have bought by a long shot. It completely died after two years. Absolutely disgraceful that an appliance would only last that long. It was our first , and will be be, our last appliance from Best Buy.

    Stopped working

    Bought this for extra freezer space during pandemic. Had to increase temp all the way to max setting because things started thawing out. Today I go to get something out of it (still on max) and everything is thawing out! Some things like fish and ground meats completely thawed. I'm so upset. I need a new freezer asap to keep from losing hundreds of dollars worth of food. Calling best buy tomorrow to see if we can resolve this.

    Purchased in January of 2021, stopped working after 2 months. Lost 800.00 worth of meat. Best Buy couldn't care less. They won't do anything but repair. Why should i have a brand new freezer repaired. Sticking with PC Richards.

    Not Worth The Money! Avoid At All Costs

    I purchased the 5.0Cu Ft unit in October 2020, and it broke completely in February 2021. I wasn't expecting miracles at this price point, but only lasting four months is ridiculous.

    I ordered one, I picked it up at the Dover Delaware store and they delivered it to me folded. I returned it and they gave me another more bent than the previous one
