I am not aware of the performance of the item as it was purchased as a prize for a raffle. I have not heard anything negative from the person who won the raffle. My local Best Buy did not have the item in stock and arranging delivery from your warehouse was more difficult than it should be.

I bought this tv in January 2016. July 2018 the led backlight went dark. No picture, the repair will cost more than the tv. Great tv up until it quit.

I'll start with the (maybe) bad- This isn't a smart TV. If you're going to be using it for more than tv watching, it may not be for you. If, however, you're going to sit in your living room and stare at this for entertainment- this is an amazing value. I upgraded from a 50" plasma (720 HD), and am just blown away. First- in the store I never really noticed huge differences between 720 HD and 1080p. In my living room, however....whoa. I don't even know what else to say about that. If you're looking to spend thousands of dollars, 4K is probably somewhat better, but....I wasn't. I wanted to spend hundreds of dollars. This absolutely surpassed my expectations. I can't speak to the sound very much- I assume it's good, but I have a soundbar. Setup took minutes, and was super easy. I moved the old tv, set this one in its place, and plugged the wires in. One of the coolest little bells and whistles is the ability to rename the inputs. So- instead of HDMI1, Component, etc; you can relabel them 'TV', 'DVD player', 'Chromecast', etc; so you don't need to remember what is in each input. It's a small deal, but really shows how user-friendly this really is. Excellent buy- I highly recommend it. Well worth the money, and probably worth quite a bit more.

The picture was NOT good on this TV. When I returned it the guy said he thought there was a problem with the TV but I didn't take the chance and do the same exchange I just went with a different TV.

I am sorry to hear of your issue with the set. That is definitely something that is covered under the Best Buy Return policy, and also something covered under the 1 year manufacturer warranty. - Jon, Insignia Support BBY-ExBrand_Insignia

Bought an open box TV and when I turned it on there was a dialogue box on the bottom of the screen that wouldn't go away. I tried everything to remove the box, I even called in

Nice large T.V. and reasonably priced but the remote is not universal. It would be nice if A) it came with one or B) they told you it did not have one.

Great basic tv for the money

Hi all, I read the initial reviews of this TV with some trepidation. Some said that color was bad, others stated that the TV was dead on arrival at their home. So it was with some hesitancy that I was able to purchase the TV for $345.00(thanks to coupons). Upon initial unpacking, I noticed how flimsy the back of the TV was which concerned me. However, after attaching the mounting brackets to the unit and wall, this doesn't become an issue. I have owned several flat screen tv's from a panasonic plasma, a Sceptre LCD, to a top end LG. I find this TV somewhere in the middle of all of those. I highly recommend a dvd that allows you to calibrate your TV to the fullest. I watched several different sports on the unit and found that if you have everything calibrated well, then the 60hz refresh rate isn't that noticeable. My wife and I are pleased so far with the performance of the TV. It's not a samsung so don't be disappointed when it doesn't perform like one, but it is definitely a step up from other budget tv's such as sanyo or emerson. I deducted one star due to the flimsy back panel, otherwise the TV is well put together. Connect a roku or a chromecast, and a decent sound bar with subwoofer and you've got a smart TV that sounds great. Good luck to all.
