Easy setup. Don't need a sound bar though playing a movie from ps4 was low. At this price, it can only last 12 months and I can keep buying a new one each year. Watch from 6 feet away and it is crystal clear. I can spend more but why would I?

I've had an Insignia 55 TV for a couple years now. They are excellent; great picture quality. I think this brand is a far better value than more name brand models.

Alright so I just got this mammoth of a screen and it works for what I need it for but I got the 55 inch because it was said in specs that it had a DVI input but when I opened it up and set it up there wasn't one. So yeah I got a nice big tv but the lack of a DVI port despite the specs listed on here saying it did have one is a disappointment.

After less than a year it won't turn on! Check reviews online before buying this television. This seems to be a huge issue with this particular television. The color and sound is decent.
The main problem is that when you turn it off it won't turn back on. If there is a power surge, even one for a fraction of a second, it won't turn back on. The remote won't work, the power button won't work either. The only fix is to try to plug and unplug the tv constantly for 20-30 minutes to get it to go back on.

You get what you pay for I guess. Picture quality is so-so and fast motion shows like football and basketball look blurry at times due to the low refresh rate of this television. Should have just bought a Sony

All I have to say is WOW. Yes, I was living in the dark ages but due to a recent breakdown of my old TV was forced into upgrading. I haven't even had the scheduled HD upgrade and every time I come around the corner and see the picture on this thing, I just can't stop grinning. The delivery guys were superb! I'm so glad I had delivered and set up as I'm not sure that techno dinosaurs like me could do it. Honest to God, my face is getting really tired of smiling. Somebody stop me! :)

My husband and I decided to go with a "dumb" TV and add a Roku due to problems we heard reported with "Smart" TVs. Paid 399 for this TV on sale at best buy. My total was right around 500.00 after adding a Roku 2. TV is lightweight and thin. My 16 year old daughter helped me unload it and carry it to the basement. I was able to easily remove it from the package and set it up by myself. We had planned to use this television in the basement for a teenager hangout and workout room use. I am sorry to say with full HD Roku hardwired with an Ethernet cord to the internet the picture is not very good. Faces are exceptionally grainy. Background is grainy. Lines are not Crisp, color is so/so. I have a top of the line Samsung so I know what a good picture looks like. I realize this is a bargain TV and I feel my expectations were in check. The 48" Insignia on display at the store had a decent picture but the picture quality on this 55" model is quite poor. I could live with the screen door effect I am seeing, but the ultra- grainy faces are unacceptable and actually quite strange.
It's not really a deal financially because there are plenty of TVs out there at the 500 mark, several of which I am certain have better picture. (The Samsung and Vizio are both better picture quality at the 500 price point). I am disappointed and will probably have to go to the trouble to take it back.

Great replacement! We had a 65" projection tv for about 6 yrs and replaced the bulb twice, it started to develop stars and we decided it was time to move on. After pricing one at Walmart we went in to get it they were out of stock and the price increased. I went online right there in the store and found an even better fit (this tv) at Best Buy and we couldn't have made a better choice. Great picture and sound quality!

Picture quality is very good , great colors once you tweek it. There is a lag between remote and response of TV set. AFter 2 days of working well, screen started to blink once every couple hours and then started to turn itself off as if on a timer. AT end of 2nd day ( CHristmas Day ) turned off and died :( . Taking it back , hopefully this was a deffective set.

We decided to buy a bigger version for the living room. We already own smaller sizes for the bedrooms. Good TV for the price. If you are looking for better, more excellent quality, buy a different brand. This suits us perfectly, no TV snobs here.

TV OK. Extended Warranty Experience Bad

The Insignia TV is OK. Nothing fancy, however it puts a picture on the screen. Couple complaints with the TV:
1). there is not an "audio-only" option for HDMI inputs, which I like for listening to music through my Roku player late at night so I don't have a bright screen.
2#. The HDMI has trouble picking-up the signal for my cable box, the only fix is to turn-off & turn-back-on the TV for it to recognize the signal, very annoying....
I originally purchased a Westinghouse 55" @ a good sale price #$400#. It never worked right, the screen had some weird flickering/stuttering going on. I had purchased the TV off bestbuy.com with free shipping to my home and purchased the 5-year extended warranty. After about a month after my purchase, I had a technician come to my house, he was great. He quickly found the TV was a lemon and said I would get a replacement. Except this model of Westinghouse was discontinued.
So I then had to drive to the closest best buy store with the TV to exchange it, which was inconvenient as the closest store is 30 miles away, hence why I had it shipped in the first place. The store seemed to struggle with my exchange. 1st off it took forever for someone in customer service to assist me, there was no one in line in front of me. As they did not have this same model TV available, I obviously had to take something different. Except they did not have another 55" Westinghouse at the same price I originally paid. In this case, I feel I should have received "the next best" Westinghouse TV at no cost to me, however they said I would have to pay the difference and on top of that re-purchase the extended warranty. So I'm basically being punished for something that is completely out of my control, it's not my fault they quit making that TV. They then eventually showed me the Insignia TV which was the same price as my original Westinghouse, & assured me it was better, which I would now disagree, mainly on my two complaints earlier... they still pushed for me to repurchase the extended warranty, which I was able to argue my way out of being that I did not have the TV for more than 30-days and was only getting an equivalent exchange for a totally different TV. All in all, I was really disappointed on how this was handled, it's like I got punished for finding a good deal on a TV & had to sacrifice an entire evening to fix their mistake. Sorry I can't drop $1K+ to get a super fancy TV. They should have just shipped me a replacement, of equal or greater value, at no charge to me. Sad to say but next time I buy a TV I'll go to Walmart!!
