  • Defective Tuner

    After purchasing this TV I found out it had a defective tuner. It would get half way through the channel scan and freeze. I would have to unplug the TV and restart it, only to have the same thing happen. After a service call from my cable provider to assure that the signal strength was adequate, i contacted Insignia and they suggested that the tuner was defective and i should return it for another unit, which I did. After the hassle of reboxing, returning and picking up as second TV, it had the same exact issue. I asked Insignia if they could send out a service technician, but they never got back to me. My conclusion is the TV tuner has a design issue, or a systemic manufacturing issue. I saw no use in hauling the TV back to Best Buy a third time. To get around this issue, i rented a cable box from my provider, which bypasses the TVs tuner. For those who already have a cable box, this shouldn't be an issue, and i'm happy with the TV otherwise, but now I have to pay $10/month for a tuner.

    Good tv for the price! But online and the paperwork said this tv was 120hz but the tv is only 60hz

    Easy to set up. Great picture and sound ! Have received many compliments. It was a great value. Staff was very helpful and courteous ! Would not hesitate to purchase another TV from Best Buy, in fact we did !
