Not reliable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this adapter in order to make things easier but that did not happen. The main issue I had with it was that no matter what cable I used, loud static/popping sounds would be transmitted to everyone in my chat party. This would happen at random times, even when I had my PS4 controller placed on the couch, not being moved. Also, the microphone sensitivity would decrease whenever I had this adapter connected which meant that every time I'd use it I'd have to go on the PS4 settings and readjust my microphone sensitivity, not very convenient. Other than that, when it decided to function as it's supposed to it was pretty good. The button layout felt comfortable and it's very light even with the two AAA batteries it requires.

a simple but very helpful attachment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i wish that this didn't run on batteries but that is really the only complaint. (the xbox one version of this is powered by the controller itself) it's handy to have a quick way to adjust the volume while playing my games/watching content with my headphones on.

Decent alternative to menu navigation...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered this, as an alternative to being able to make quick adjustments on the fly, as well as quick mic muting, without having to unplug my headset. This works ok. The supplied batteries were dead on arrival, no big deal, but it didn't seem too promising, as a first impression. Regardless, I got a new set of batteries and installed them, and instantly noticed that I was having connection problems, as if the batteries weren't making a solid connection, I disconnected the controller from the headset, and pulled one battery out, connected it again, and all was fixed, temporarily, I experience this problem often, it's not a deal breaker, but can be discouraging, I would be upset, if I paid full price for this item, but considering I was able to unload $15 in rewards certificates, I didn't mind paying the $5 plus shipping that it cost me.

Wonderful!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This puck is perfect for use with headsets/headphones/earbuds that don't have in-line volume control or mute buttons. I feel like a ton of headset options have opened up to me, thanks to this little puck.

Pleased - glad it doesn't use DS4's battery!!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product. The reason it must be powered is because it has an amplifier built into it. I am extremely pleased that it doesn't use the DualShock 4's (DS4) battery. The controller's battery is the same as the one used in the DS3, yet now supports an always on LED light and a capacitive touchbutton, so it already dies very quickly. The audio controller turns any ordinary mic enabled headset into a sound system that completes more functions than almost any other product (As in complex headsets. Most of them are missing at least one feature included here).

Great product offered
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy has a nice exclusive right here or, at least, I can't find it anywhere else. I got tired of sifting through menus to adjust to the volume on my headphones and this eliminates that issue. I do wish it ran off the DS4's battery but I came with a pair of AAA batteries and I have yet to replace them.

Works as advertised - very good product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is exactly what I was looking for. I don't know why this is an online only item. They should stock this in the stores. The standard Dualshock 4 audio output is very low and has a hard time running some large headphones. This has a built in headphone amp that boosts the audio output and will allow your headphones to get much louder. In addition, it gives you volume control and a microphone mute button right on your controller. I am going to order a 2nd one for my other controller. Note: It will only turn on when the controller is on and it auto turns off when the controller turns off.

Better than expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My current headset has a mute button and it makes a distinct >CLICK< when I use it and I wanted a better way to mute without spending a lot of money. The mute button on this is amazing. There's still a slight click but its very low-pitch and doesn't bother people when I use it.

Get volume controls for ANY headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This adapter makes it super easy to adjust the volume of any headphones you plug in (not just "gaming headphones") using physical buttons without having to go into any menus in the system.

Mute creates echo for other party members.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wish this device worked better. Battery powered, so acts as an audio amp, which is awesome. The problem is that if the device is powered on and muted, it creates an echo and all other members of the PSN party hear themselves on a delay. Disorienting echo chamber. Basically can't use the device as it ruins the experience of everyone else I'm playing with.
