As we all know typing on a controller can be very difficult and leave you very frustrated. So I searched for a good priced remote that would work with our Xbox and would relieve this frustration. I saw this remote on sale and am so happy I bought it. It has made typing and controlling the blurry on the Xbox very easy. As a mother of 3 teenagers, I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it to other buyers. It was a great price and is a quality remote and is very easy to use for easy the non tech savvy. Great deal and great product.

I bought this remote because I spend a lot of time playing MMO games like Destiny, and being able to input text quickly and easily on Xbox Live makes finding and communicating with other gamers for multiplayer activities MUCH easier for me than trying to text input using the thumbsticks and buttons on the Xbox One controller. Using the remote for text input does not interfere with the function of the gaming controller (for example, when I message another gamer while in the middle of a mission, etc.)
I also frequently use my Xbox One for streaming media via Netflix, Hulu Plus and YouTube. I find my Xbox's response to input (FF, rewind, pause, etc.) from this remote to be much more consistent than it's response to the Microsoft Xbox One remote I used for over a year prior to purchasing the Insignia remote. The keyboard makes searching on Netflix and YouTube a snap. However, I was disappointed to find that the Search function on Hulu Plus' app will not accept text input from this remote.
Overall, I am pleased with the functionality of this remote. It does not feel like it would withstand being dropped on a hard floor, and I am concerned that the tiny tabs that secure the battery cover to the body of the remote might eventually break off. but I guess only time will tell.

Remote is easy to set up and works very well. Only knock on it is that the touch sensitivity is high. Sitting down next to it or bumping the table that it is on sets off the backlight.

The key pad did not work at first but a simple google search and I found I just needed to re-sync the remote to the USB receiver. Have not had a problem since. Remote does light up which is nice, however it is very sensitive and the slightest bump will turn it on. This said it is not super bright and does not bother me. Over all this is a good remote and having the keyboard it eliminated the need for me to buy the Microsoft remote and then also the controller keypad, saving me a little money.

I bought this to be used on my wife's Xbox, so she could watch her shows without the need for a controller, and ran into some interesting issues. Her Xbox is about 8 feet from the primary Xbox, and while the keyboard function will only work on whichever Xbox has the USB dongle attached, the primary functions are IR based, and will control both consoles if in line-of-site to both at the same time. Only an issue is you have 2 Xboxs in close proximity, otherwise it's great.

I wanted to buy a media remote and chatpad for the Xbox One, but then I saw that this remote could do both for a much cheaper price. It does most things very well with the exception that I have to point the remote directly at the Kinect in order to change the volume and the volume buttons need to be pressed hard to activate. The rest of the buttons perform perfectly. The keyboard works very well and is actually rather sensitive. The lights on the remote are great too.

The keyboard is a major plus. Sometimes the buttons don't response. You have to make sure you're not tilting the remote when pressing buttons to avoid this.

It's a great alternative to the Microsoft keyboard and tv remote which cost more and adds two devices instead of this combo with keys that light up.

Very good purchase works exactly how I thought it would make watching streaming a lot easier without using the battery life on my controller

My boyfriend and I picked this up on sale as an open box item. We decided to try it out. He had been contemplating getting a media remote for the Xbox One. I had been looking into getting a chat pad for my controller. This is the best of both worlds. Has a green backlight for the buttons. I find the keyboard on the back to be interesting but its works and isn't too hard to use, even for my small hands.

Works well but the dual sides means that it had to be held flat for one side to work. Also the backlight kills the battery

This remote does what it needs to but can be a bit frustrating at times. It comes with a USB adapter you MUST plug into one of the USB ports on your xbox. The remote needs this to be plugged in to function. I have had range issues with the remote and it accepting the button presses. It appears to be line of sight or something like that for it to work. If I am close enough to the xbox it will work fine. but sitting across the room about 15 feet it cuts in and out. It is acceptable and I can deal with these things, as I would rather not power on a full controller just to navigate the Media Player app for movies and tv shows.
I have seen a newer model from them and an actual Microsoft one. I would give this a 5 start review if it would connect to the xbox the way the controllers did. However, It may be easier said than done.

This keyboard and media remote combo works well. The buttons on the upright side light up when moved making it easy to see what you're pressing before you do it. Flip it over and it becomes a keyboard for typing passwords or chats. Uses a WiFi dongle that goes into the USB spot on the side. It's cheaper than the msft media remote unit and that only has one function.

This game is vast. I wasn't sure how they would top the story of Fallout 3, but so far they have done it. The story pulls you in right away and there are seemingly endless things to discover and build to create a unique experience. I especially enjoy hopping into a party with friends and talking about our progress. Where we have gone or where to go next. There are a few bugs to work out, but so far nothing that destroys the game. Loads of fun.

This remote is really convenient for typing with a keypad on the back. It seems touchy though. If I pause something and try to hit play it won't play. I have to push the play button to wake it up, then turn it over to hit enter on the keypad before it plays. Not a huge deal, just a mild inconvenience. Overall it was worth the purchase.

Everything I need in an XB1 remote

At first I was searching for a simple remote for my XB1 because I've been watching more movies and TV on it vs. Cable/Sat. But after stumbling upon this Easter egg, i am glad i went with this remote that can do more than just turn on and off the box.
The basic features I was searching for are on the front of the remote with the d-pad and select keys. But when I want to YouTube or search for movies in whatever app, I is so convenient to flip over the remote and have a full keyboard readily available.
I do not have a single regret purching this remote over others. Perfect for what I was looking for in an XB1 remote.
