This remote is not bad. I was under the impression it connected to Xbox by Bluetooth. I was not thrilled this remote has to take up one of my few USB ports for it to work.

Insignia Xbox One Media Remote - It Lights Up!

I bought this media remote for my Xbox One because I like to watch movies in low light, and this remote is backlit. It has a green backlight that illuminates whenever you pick up the remote -- you don't have to press a button. Both sides light up, so it's easy to see both the media remote control side and the keyboard side. Recommended!

When we decided to upgrade from the 360 to an Xbox One, I decided to get a remote so I didn't have to use the controller to watch Netflix and other streaming. The reason I bought this one was it has a keyboard on the back so I can type in what I need instead of using arrow keys and an onscreen keyboard. Works great.

It's on sale for $15, but it doesn't work well very consistently. It's very nice to not have to use the xbox one controller for videos and for typing in information, but several little things are a bit annoying about the remote. It originally lit up whenever it was picked up, lighting whichever side was facing up, but it soon stopped doing that, even though the command inputs still work. Also, originally, you didn't have to point it directly at the tv to get the commands to work, but now I do. It's just not quite as great a remote as I was hoping for. I'm still happy to have it, just not as happy as as I was hoping to be.

Xbox 1 Media Controller from the Start

I should of considered this way back when I first got my xbox. 1 side: the basic remote. on the other side: a full keyboard. With backlit keys? Why not! Now the buttons don't feel all great but that is a stupid nick pick on a device that if you are a Xbox 1 owner and you haven't picked up a Chat pad or media remote, save yourself the struggle and pick this up.

Love this remote, especially the reverse side with the letters. This makes typing in codes much easier. It works great with Netflix also, fast warding and rewinding. Love it! What I also like about it, is that it lights up when you pick it up or even slightly move it.

It's a little big and square, but nice to have a full keypad on the back. It does use a USB port for full functionality and I wish it did all commands over RF, but it does a decent job for what it is

This remote is great for the XBox One. It makes it so much easier to enter letters by just pushing the letter button on the remote rather than having to scroll through letters on a screen with the regular Xbox remote.

The keyboard on this remote make it a lot more convenient than the hunt and peck option of using the gaming control. It lights up as well so it's easy to use at night.

This is great for watching apps and movies on your xbox. Only negative is remote must be pointed at xbox to operate. I wish it worked like the controller and did not have to be pointed straight at the xbox.

I have it plugged into the rear USB port and it works well. I like the fact that I do not need my controller to watch movies and do simple tasks. The key board on the back is handy. I do not have a chatpad.

Makes typing on my XBox One SOOO much easier. It IS very sensitive just like the other reviewers say so that just the slightest touch on the table it's on and the light will turn on. Doesn't bother me though.

Happy overall, but didn't realize it has a USB receiver that will take up one of the Xbox One's USB ports. No big deal--just FYI.

I have had this remote for around 2 months haven't had any issues with it other then the keyboard not activating instantly which is not a big deal it turns on quickly and bit might have to do with the fact that the batteries may be low on juice

I have the smaller Xbox One remote as well, but this one lights up better and has a keyboard (which I don't really need). It works fine so far. No issues with battery life.

Being able to control my Xbox One with a remote is nice! Set it up with an IR extender instead of a Kinect to control channels. Seems to work well and controls are responsive.

    The Remote Wont Remote

This is essentially two remotes built into one body. On one side it has the traditional buttons of an Xbox One entertainment remote, and on the other is a keyboard. I wanted this remote because I use my Xbox as a complete entertainment device, as in I stream a lot of content with it as well as play games. When streaming content, I really dislike the standard controller turning off. Thus the desire for an entertainment remote. The keyboard side of this remote works flawlessly, but the other side does not. I tried two different remotes, and both of them suffered from the same issue. The 'traditional' side doesn't work 100% of the time, in what seems erratic and an 'on-its-own' decision to work. Without fail, if the traditional side doesn't work, flip it over and use the other side. The keyboard side has 'old-school' tactile buttons and they're great. The traditional side has fancy looking buttons and doesn't work. How could QC let this pass? I tried two different remotes from two different stores. Same part number obviously, and I can't tell what batch they were from. My friends made fun of me for giving the remote a second chance.

I bought this with the intentions of using the keyboard. I wasn't aware that it is backlit. Everything is integrated. I can use this for my cable, and xbox of course. It's so slick.
