I find this to be a pretty decent quality Water Filter. Initially there was this taste to it, but its no longer there. Water looks clean and also doesn't have any smell to it. I don't see any difference in water quality when using the OEM filter. The reason I'm giving this 4 start is I think BestBuy can do better with the price, and somewhat easy to open packaging.

We have had our Samsung fridge for probably 5-7 years and were never even given the option of Samsung filters at purchase and BB doesn’t seem to carry them. We replaced diligently and on time or early. Right after warranty expired, we started getting a jackhammering noise when filling water from dispenser. Then it happened with the ice maker. I tried replacing the filter early. No help. Eventually the jackhammering stopped and the fridge no longer dispensed water or made ice. We didn’t want to pay to fix it, so we just turned off the water valve to it. A few years later and we’ve decided the Brita tank is just not cutting it. We had Samsung’s local authorized repair service come out and he turned on the water line, and it worked a little. Then he took out the filter and it worked perfectly! But that first glass of water without a filter had a lot of nasty black stuff floating in it (not just carbon dust). He said it’s not because he has Samsung on his shirt, but offbrand water filters just destroy and clog these refrigerators. It’s their biggest service call on them. The carbon in them gets pulverized in shipping and leaves carbon dust buildup in the little pipes and areas the water goes through. The heads on them also don’t have a proper fit and carve out tiny pieces of plastic on the refrigerator that you can’t see, wearing down that seal area. He suggested either using actual Samsung DA29-00020B filters or the more cost efficient route is an inline water filter between the water line and fridge (they cost a touch more up front but last 3 or 5 years depending on the model). They are not made by Samsung either, it’s just his recommendation. If using an inline filter, you just leave the filter opening empty in the fridge. Learned a lot for my service call charge today...returning these ASAP! Save yourself and either buy Samsung for a little more or get an online water filter. Either way you go is less expensive than the cost for a service visit. ;)

This morning, we opened the fridge and had a tsunami pour out. Our entire kitchen flooded. We always use the Samsung brand filters. I talked my husband into purchasing the Insignia brand filter this time and told him, "It's just a filter. It'll work fine!" Boy, was I wrong. The first filter worked but the second filter is cracked top to bottom and caused the flooding.

It was a perfect fit for my Samsung fridge. Followed the advice of another reviewer and turned off the water to the fridge while replacing in order to reduce the water pressure. I tried another off brand filter, and two out of three of the filters I bought leaked, so I was careful not to put anything in the deli drawer for a week after replacing this one. But it didn't leak at all and provides nice fresh tasting water and clear ice.

These filters work great with my Samsung fridge. Easy to install, long lasting and produces good tasting water. These are the best filter option at a reasonable price. Reputable product compared to the cheap filters you can order on Amazon. I would choose this product all day.

So far, I was impressed at the ease of changing out the filter in my Samsung TV Fridge. I thought for sure I'd get it in crooked and have to try multiple times, screaming at someone to shut the water off for the house. But it went right in, fit perfectly and water tastes just as good as the one that came with it. Very happy after being in a few weeks now. Thank uou.

I needed to replace the water filter in my Samsung refrigerator and purchased this Insignia filter rather than the Samsung filter. The Insignia is almost half the price and works just as well as I had used this filter before. The Insignia filter works really well and the installation was easy. I will purchase it again when needed.

Have purchased these refrigerator filters multiple times with excellant performance results. Price is great too. Highly recommend product for dependable performance, easy installation, and great price!

I found this set of 2 for the same price as the name brand 1 piece. Easy installation. Water tastes the same as it did through the name brand. Hopefully they last just as long as the name brand, No issues so far.

What can you say when the oroduct does exactky what it's intended to do? Fits my model just fine and imparts that squeaky-clean feeling whenever I fill a great big glass of drinking water.

The Insignia Water filter replacement for my Samsung refrigerator works great and very easy to replace, the Insignia brand is less expensive as the Samsung brand and works great !!

A good price for this filter. Perfect fit for my Samsung french door refrigerate, easy to install, have had no problems. Will definitely buy again.

This alternative to the Samsung brand water filter is excellent. I have used 2 of these Insignia filters already. Based on what I have seen and taste, it helps your refrigerator produce good quality tasting water and ice cubes. It lasts about 6 months with regular use. If you live in a 4 or more family household, then one of these filters may last for only 4 months instead of 6 due to the probably heavy use of the ice and water dispenser. The price of this Insignia brand filter is definitely a lot better than the price of the Samsung brand filter. I would have given this a 5 star if I did not sometimes struggle with the installation of the replacement filter. Then again, that could be a design flaw in the refrigerator itself. Overall, you get more bang from you buck with this water filter compared to when you buy the Samsung name brand filter.

The warning light to replace water filter in my Samsung fridge came on and when I checked prices, they were $40 a piece. However I noticed that Best Buy had these Insignia filters for $35 for a 2-pack. I was obviously attracted by the great price. And installation was very easy, the filter is located inside the fridge, about waist high in the front. Just unscrewed the old one and inserted the new one effortlessly. I ran the water for about a minute to eliminate the bubbles, and after that the water was flowing well and the taste was fine, just as before.

I was able to buy 2 for the price of 1 “Samsung” brand filter. It works fine and the water tastes fine.

Will purchase again. Good value pack. Does a good a job as name brand water filter. Easy and quick install.

Same as the Samsung for more than half the cost. Water taste great, no leaks, and would order again and again. Why pay more.

Great alternative for my samsung fridge! They do the job, and they dont leak and are easy to change.
