No programming was necessary, worked on all buttons out of the box. I have a newer Vizio Smart TV and an older Vizio with none of the bells and whistles, works great on both. Worth buying if you need a replacement remote.

I bought this remote as a replacement and it worked with little effort. Used the programmaing feature to program the yellow button to use to set the sleep timer (hopefully I never lose the instructions to do that). Great remote!

No set up needed. The buttons are very easy to use because they are somewhat similar to the original remote of the TV

Wife is not impressed

I don’t need her getting any ideas so I flip it off when she’s really getting into it. She thinks our TV is going out. I’ve almost got her convinced to buy a new 973” Flatscreen razor.

Instructions were somewhat simple. Unfortunately, it did not work on my Vizio and I will be returning it. But, I do not think the issue is the remote. I think its my TV ... likely the IR sensor (note, I did not buy my Vizio from Best Buy, I got it from another major department store a few years back). Anyway, if the IR sensor is not working on the TV, the remote can't operate the TV. I thought I'd try this, but no luck. Bummed. But, I was glad Best Buy had this at a reasonable price for me to try. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with using the buttons on the side of the TV to change inputs, settings, etc. If you are just replacing a lost remote (no TV issues like mine) you might want to give it a try (?). One extra note, I did get a firestick with a remote, and although it wont fully operate the TV (On/off, inputs, etc ...) it does work for wifi channels and the wifi TV guide, apps and Fire TV settings/updates. So it was a good partial solution for me.

I purchased an aftermarket universal remote and quickly misplaced the user manual with the universal tv codes, rendering the remote useless. I found this Insignia remote which was ready to use right out of the box. No programming required, it works great!
