This is made to hold an ssd. It does in fact hold the ssd in place. Installation was easy. Now there is an ssd in my wife's computer.

I have upgraded many laptops and desktops with solid state hard drives. (One of the best ways you can breath new life into an aging computer). You will need to purchase an SSD mount such as this if you plan to install the ssd in a desktop. When upgrading an old iMac, not all mounting holes line up. This is not a problem. SSD's do not weigh much. The 2 screws that will fit are plenty to secure the drive. I may have even used adhesive. I don't recall. (Off topic but imacs will also require an additional 3rd party temperature connection for ssd upgrade. These can be found at amazon.)

I decided to install a SSD to my main computer. I had to buy a SSD adapter to fit into a 3.5 drive. This adapter was easy to install. Perfect fit.

Converted my desktop computer from a 3.5 in. HDD to a 2.5 in. SSD. The SSD mounted to this mount as expected. I did have an issue but it WAS NOT WITH THE SSD MOUNT itself. My computer didn't have a typical HHD cage and I was unable to mount the SSD Mount into the cage but I did manage to mount it in an unconventional manner. Don't let this review deter you from purchasing it because it does do exactly what it is meant to do by installing a 2.5 in. SSD replacing a 3.5 in. HHD

Instructions were great. No problems. extra screws supplied. Price good. I think these things should come free with the SSD drives though.

Is dead simple to install, not a lot that can go wrong with something like this. If you're looking to mount a 2.5 in a 3.5 slot, this'll do the job.

Easy to install; accommodated a WD sold state drive perfectly. Mine was used in a Dell Inspiron and it was also an easy fit.
