This adapter was exactly what I was looking for!!!

This was an open box special that I could not pass up but I wish I would have. Got it home and opened up the box and could not see any damage. Followed the quick setup guide to the letter and my system did not recognize the device so I had to download the driver myself. Again followed the quick setup guide to the letter and downloaded the driver and installed it. The driver installation looked like it was ok and told me to restart my computer and that is were it stopped working. I preformed a factory reset and tried to install the device again to make sure that this was the problem and it is.

After hours of trying to figure out why I couldn't get the second screen to work. I realized I needed to download the driver! Then once that was done, the screen resolution was HORRIBLE! Taking it to the store!

Purchased the adapter for my PC, which has a dvd/cd player, thinking the item comes with a cd with drivers. Note in box states that before connecting to a Windows 10 unit download a driver at Insigniaproducts.com. where the link to download the driver does not exist, I called and was told they would e-mail the link within 1 hour, after two hours I called back and was told they had the wrong e-mail address. This was corrected and still no e-mail so tomorrow I will return the item.

It took a little effort installing the driver, but I could get my extra VGA monitor to work after the install. Problem is the screen resolution is only 800x600 (as stated on the box as the max). I didn't realize how bad that resolution is on a 23" monitor until after I installed. So I'm returning and looking for a similar connector that offers better specs - some seem to, based on what I'm seeing online. Wish I had done more research first.

If you have Windows 10, and plug this into a USB port on your laptop and run the setup wizard, it will ask you to restart your computer. But it will never turn on again. I've unknowingly destroyed a Lenovo Yoga 710 and a Dell Inspiron 15 now. I wish I would have looked up the product and other's problems with it before hand.

Completely wrecked Nvidia drivers on my Windows 10 installation. Had to restore computer to a previous state.

This products driver crashed my 8 month old ASUS laptop during the install. I would not recommend it to anyone but if you decide to buy it, research it further before you decide to drop the money.

I wish that I had read the reviews before purchasing this little piece of $#i+. Purchased a new computer tonight, and one of the first things I did was install the drivers for this thing. Just like everyone else I now only have a black screen and a useless computer. Going to own that beautiful new computer less than 24 hours because this adapter has destroyed it.

Long story short, followed directions, didn't work and laptop screen went blank. Called support and got garbage service from India or the like. Had to call laptop manufacturer to factory reset laptop to resolve the issue.
