One of the Greatest Kung Fu movies of all time. True Story about Kung Fu Master. After this movie i actually searched out for a nearby Wing Chun School. I thought i wouldn't like it bc it is Subtitled but was completely wrong. If it was in English it wouldn't have been the same. Also you don't notice the words its just a great movie not to give it a chance. And if you are wondering... the subtitles do not move fast at all. Gives you a chance to read and watch.

I found this in the $4.99 bin. I actually had never heard of it which surprised me. My brother's birthday was in a few days and we both like martial arts movies. I guess it was growing up in the Bruce Lee era that got us into them. This movie is really good. I recommend it highly. The main character is based off the man who trained Bruce Lee. Both of us was very impressed with this movie. I understand there are sequels and at some point we'll check them out.

This movie is awesome! Plain and simple. Remember this is BASED ON A TRUE STORY, nonetheless based on the man himself, but most of this movie is fictional, of course and that the events portrayed in this film doesn't represent what actually happen. I say this because there are some people out there who like the argue how this and that didn't happen because they are right, it didn't because its just a movie. Simply put, one of the best martial arts films ever!

this movie is amazing and started off really sad. ip man got shot in the first one he was recovering. he started training. opened up a martial arts school. than alot of trouble started brewing. he was trying to do the right thing. than things got out of hand. other masters thought there form of fighting was superior. so they sent there disciples to ruin and destroy ip mans do jo. this movie has alot of up and downs. i highly recommend this to anyone.

We have the entire collection of movies The series is more of the traditional style Kung-Fu, appears to be some other art forms If you're not into the martial arts you may still enjoy the love story. It does not contain the random Hollywood "adult" content that is common in so many movies currently which is another plus All in all great series Background this is based on the guy that taught Bruce Lee

This has got to be one of my all time greatest kung fu movies I ever watched! He is no bruce lee but Donnie Yen as IP man has made a statement for himself. If You haven't watched this movie please do as soon as u can, U can thank me later. All my buddies that I let borrow it were amazed and are now 'ip man' fans. Highly recommended movie in your collection.

I like everything about this movie. I liked the story line and the acting was good. It was action packed without all the unnatural flying around. Great martial arts, which I love. I bought Ipman 2, but haven't watched it yet, but my daughter says it's as good as this one. Looking forward to watching it again and then watching Ipman 2.

This is a great movie about IP Mann, the man responsible for teaching Bruce Lee. The storyline is good and the fight scenes are amazing. Some digital assistance in parts, kinda unbelievable, but that's part of the mythology of the genre. I highly recommend this movie to fans of Bruce Lee and Martial Arts.

A good and largely unknown true story of the man who brought an ancient fighting style to modern prominence. This same individual also just happened to be the instructor to the famous martial artist, Bruce Lee. To bad the film wasn't marketed better it would have garnered more attention.

I didn't know that IP was Bruce Lee's Sensei. It is a great part of the martial art history. One thing I didn't like is the fact the Chinese actors are doubled in English. It would be more fun to have the subtitle and Chinese language spoken. It makes more authentic..

The movie itself is phenomenon; among the best MA flicks of all time. The character development, and introduction are great. The Blu-ray disc is in a great package. English, Cantonese, and Mandarin audio in 5.1. Not so great extras.

I really enjoyed this movie. Not only was the action great but there was a lot of rich history and culture in it. I really appreciate learning about the world in a movie that does not have a dull documentary feel.

This movie has amazing fight sequences, a very well crafted story, and some humor mixed in. I recommend this for people who love action movies and martial arts films.

I heard about this movie from a coworker.So I decided to buy. Lots of good fight scenes. Worth every penny. If you enjoy good kung fu movies this is a must to buy.

I had a 10 dollar rewards coupon and went to Best Buy to find a Video. Ip Man was advertised at 9.99 and I didn't even have to pay anything extra! Awesome!

One of the best action movies out there. Movie not just fighting but also has a plot and story so it's not boring. A must own collection.

Really good movie. While it is a foreign movie and subtitles can be bothersome, it is definitely one of my favorite movies. Must watch!
