The title is a bit of a misnomer. Nothing ever actually comes at night. There’s some kind of deadly unknown disease that spreads and wipes out most of humanity. This film is basically about the lengths people will go to in a post apocalyptic world to protect the ones they love. I thought the acting was phenomenal. The ending was realistic, although it left a bit to be desired. It did not feel like there was much closure. To me, the movie felt kind of like a cross between Bird Box and A Quiet Place. If you watched either of those films and enjoyed them I’d say give this one a watch! Just don’t expect a lot of blood and gore and don’t wait for something to actually come at night or you will be disappointed.

Well conceived and executed meditation on isolation and cabin fever in a post pandemic world. Nice assortment of extras.

I like this movie but i expected more based off the trailer i watch. The ending made me upset.

This is a second review - BB lost the first one. As I recall this is a good suspense based movie, and generated some good conversation after viewing. Well acted too... I'd like to bump it up to about 3.75 stars if I could.

It is kinda a slow movie not much action. Not much of a story line.

Loved the movie and actors in it. The movie started out slow but eventually made sense and picked up steam in terms of pacing and story development. Highly recommend the movie to other horror movie lovers.

I was looking forward to this film. Heard it was a good horror film. Not so such much. Is it a horror film? Is it an apocalyptic film? Is it a sci-fi film? Not sure on all counts. You are dropped into a family dwelling in an unknown time. Clearly something has happened but you don't know what and in the end you probably won't care. If you are expecting a story with a beginning middle and end... this isn't the movie for you. If you want to know what is happening this isn't the movie for you. As the story unfolds you are drawn into a family of four which turns into three pretty quickly. That's not a spoiler it happens in the first five minutes. You are supposed to care about these people and their situation but you don't know what their situation is. After it's all over you will have to decide for yourself if you care about them, their situation and or anything else. I was warned THE MUMMY was awful. I have to say I liked THE MUMMY more. I'm not a person who demands a beginning, middle and end. In fact I like movies that make you ask questions. The acting is good, the direction and photography were good. The thing is...some people will like this some will not. I am luke warm on it.

I had heard about this filmm and decided to pick it up. I was not disappointed! It is horrifying and thrilling throughout the whole film. This is a must-see!

It was a decent movie but I felt there was to much left in touched by the end.

A decent suspense film but no explanation or ending really.

Not hearing anything about this movie, i took a chance on this and purchased it. Glad i did. It is about a family who are secured within their desolated home deep within the woods. Said Family has also established a tenuous domestic way of living alone. Now, imagine there is something unnatural that is terrorizing the world as well as bring sickness and death. Suddenly a desperate young family shows up requesting refuge. What would you do?

Despite my conflicting feelings regarding the ending, this film crawled its way deep under my skin. At its core the film explores death, uncertainty, and fear in both subtle and unique fashion. Fear can lead many of us down a path we would never dream of treading, but the story here is not afraid of where that path may lead. I can't say it'll leave you completely satisfied, but I can certainly say it will shock and awe.

Terrifying and hits the horror movie spot. I would watch it if you’re a horror movie fan.

It Comes at Night follows a recent trend of some horror movies that have been overpraised critically for merely being a solid horror movie. I understand the drive, any critic that has to watch most of the mainstream horror releases must be so pleasantly relieved when they get a solid one that it may feel like a masterpiece or a redefinition of what horror movies are supposed to be - even when it isn't. It Comes at Night is supremely confident in it's storytelling and its tricks. It strips its story bare down to the essential elements of the genre, if not reinventing then rearranging its elements into a more different than usual concoction of suspense.

This was a great movie. It left us talking about it for days after.

Although marketed as more of a straight up horror film, this is definitely more of a drama and thriller with some scares. Great acting, story, and has you questioning many things in regards to morals and family. If you like cerebral films and those released by A24, I would definitely suggest this film.

A good horror movie. It’s not too scary but a fun watch.

I'll give it to you straight. Nothing overly crazy happens. There's no scary monsters. This movie is about paranoia and dread. If you can enjoy a movie where nothing really happens, but there's a lot of tension and suspense, you will love this movie like I did. Ignore those naysayers and check it out!
