Great selection of over 50 playable characters, combat is like a mixture of Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm meets Dragonball budokai. *Also just so you're aware, although this is the American version of the game all of the voice acting remains Japanese, so be prepared for subtitles, as all true anime fans should be*

As the title of the review states J stars plays a lot like a party game. This is a type of game that is enjoyable by yourself but extremely enjoyable with friends. The gameplay is very simple as you only have a light, heavy, and special attack. But don't let this fool you as you are able to mix and match between your attacks. There is also an ultimate attack that lets the player unleash a super powerful attack such as Goku's Spirit Bomb or Ichigo's Final Getsuga Tensho. The roster offers players a variety of characters from well known and not so well known Shonen Jump animes. The updated visuals for this release looks amazing. When the game begins there is an opening song and video that shows the beauty of this game. Story, or in this case adventure, mode allows players to choose from four different arcs. Each arc follows a different character: the Dynamic arc follows Monkey D. Luffy, the Hope arc follows Naruto Uzumaki, the Investigation arc follows Toriko, and the Pursuit arc follows Ichigo's Kurosaki. The stories themselves aren't really that great and consist of text on the screen rather then the characters actually talking to each other. Playing through the arcs however does help the player in learning the mechanics and the characters of the game. Apart from the adventure mode there is an arcade mode, online battles, point shops, and other things to explore. J Stars is a great game that is enjoyable to anime fans and casual players alike.

With a solid roster of top JUMP characters, this fighting game doesn't fail to deliver the action and diversity that you'd expect from the various series. While the handling of each character differs, some feel a bit clunky and hard to use. However, this doesn't take away much from the overall experience. If you're considering picking up a fighting game for your PS4, give this game a thought- especially if you like any of the involved series.

ive been so hype for this game since it was released in Japan. I've watched gameplay of it just waiting for it to release in America. Plus I'm a huge anime fan so this game was on my wish list. I was so happy when they announced Hunter x Hunter characters. Also, it plays like a Naruto game so if you love Naruto you'll most definitely love this one. If anyone wants to play my PSN is Izzy Lighto

It can be better. Fight system has too many flaws. But characters are nice to see, hopefully, there will be another one coming out with more characters and better fighting system.

The game is fast paced with good graphics! Could be better but so could a lot of games! The controls are good camera is the one issue that bugs me a little besides that? Nothing!

I was expecting some more side characters. the ones they do have i only kenw half... gameplay is simple, graphics is nice... stage is pretty accurate to the anime. Stage select was kind of too hands on though, wish they would just have an option to randomize the whole time instead of going into each individual catagory and then selecting or else your playing the same stage over and over. story was kind of weak, just because theres no real point in leveling up. but seeing all the different anime characters interact was good.

I'm so glad we're getting more Japanese Versions for video games. I'm currently receiving the beat-down, however this game combines multiple star characters from different genres of Japanese Mange & Anime. I'm enjoying this game so far, you have to play story mode to acquire more characters. I think folks should give it a try. If you're unsure, try to find a Pre-Owned copy, you can return it if you don't like it.

Awesome Game! this game kept me playing every night. I love the graphics and characters.

This game is extremely fun. I play it a lot with my son. The only drawback is that some of the moves can get kind of repetitive. That doesn't take away from the gameplay though.

This isn't an amazing game, but it is a good mash up of all your favorite Shonen Jump series. The story exists and, while not trailblazing, throws the characters together in a fun manner. Love the character selection, but a very frustrating fight system. You battle camera angles more than anything.

Loads of our childhood cartoon characters! Nostalgic! Amazing game

This game is amazing! It's not on the competitive side like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat but it's one of those fighters that you brawl in. If you played any DBZ or Naruto games then you'll feel right at home with J-Stars and it does an amazing job mixing it together.

This game combines a bunch of the famous Jump franchises such as Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z. It's a pretty basic arena fighter but it's a lot of fun and each character plays in its own unique way. If you're a fan of the Jump manga/anime world, it's definitely something you should take a look at.

The best 3d fighting game ever ,plenty of action tons of characters and large super moves

With a great cast of characters and tons of fan service this game is a must buy for anime fans. However, the graphics are outdated and the gameplay is repetitive. I would not recommend it to anyone not familiar with the source content.

I had my doubts about this, but the game turned out better than I expected. Anime fans will surely recognize most, if not all the characters in this game. The story and controls really shine and round out the entire package.

The game is really good if you like the characters included, and it has a lot of story elements and ways to play. Though, if you're only looking for a fighter, a solid series like Street Fighter may do you more justice.

J Stars is a pretty fun game to play with or against friends. You don't start with very many characters but it's pretty easy to earn them all. I would have liked to see a few more JoJo's Bizarre Adventure characters.

I am a really big fan of anime and imagine that they put them all together in one game this is awesome.... me and my son really enjoy playing this game especially our favorite naruto and one piece
