I needed an external USB hub - my computer only has four internal. This one did the job well and left enough room between hub ports for all seven holes.

I have been looking for a 3.0 USB hub with more than 3 slots for a while now. With today's thinner laptops only having 2-3 USB ports, a hub is a must. This gave me more options at my office location where I have multiple things needing USB ports. No more unplugging to switch items.

I have this used for my backup systems for my photography business. My only concern is that since it's powered (which is optional I do believe) it keeps the external HDDS on all the time when they're plugged in to this unit. Which is fine- just something I didn't realize when purchasing.

My small-frame workstation has lots of power, but very few ports. The unit I was using had a couple of failed ports, so needed to purchase a new unit. With this addition to my workstation, I have plenty of USB ports available.
Needing more USB ports than what a computer has can be a headache and that is why the JUH377 Hub is so popular; it's 7-Port USB design allows for connectivity of mice, flash drives, webcams and more all in one device. We appreciate the positive input! Respectfully, j5create

Having an older model adapter, this model with the power adapter actually transfer and devices work better than similar models without the added power adapter. The only downfall is this is all USB ports and does not have a variety of ports types available.
Needing a variety of ports on a hub is understanding, thanks for letting us know. We have other devices available and would value the opportunity to discuss them with you; if interested, our support team can be reached by contacting support mentioned on the packaging and a representative will be ready to help, thank you. It's hard to find a well built hub that I'm comfortable plugging over $1,000 worth of peripheral equipment. This fits my needs and works great. Data transfer speed with the USB 3.0 ports is great too.
Extends your computer by 7 USB 3.0 ports with a single USB plug-in. We're glad all your USB peripherals works well with our USB Hub. Thanks Steve.

Why you want this: Bluetooth dongles, Lightspeed dongles, and other wireless transceivers don't work very well when plugged into your computer. They work best if you connect a hub to your computer and put the hub on the same desktop as your wireless devices.
And therein lies the drawback of this hub. While the hub requires a separate power brick, not all ports get power, so you will have to plug your dongle into ports one after another to find one that will actually work.
Other than that, this device does provide USB 3.0 speeds.
