Needed more USB ports, and this fulfill what I need.

Well, it did good for 2 1/2 years. Being a USB hub, I was hoping it would last longer. It really helped keep my desk clean without having to run a bunch of USB cables to my PC. Now it no longer works and I get a "windows doesn't recognize a plugged in USB device" error. It was good while it lasted.
I'm sorry to hear that your USB 3.0 7-Port HUB is no longer working. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to see if you can resolve the issue:
1. Reboot your computer: Sometimes a simple restart can fix temporary glitches and restore the functionality of the USB hub.
2. Connect the USB hub to different USB ports on your computer.
3. Ensure that your computer's USB drivers are up to date. You can usually do this by visiting your manufacturer's website or using a driver update tool.
4. Disconnect all other USB devices from your computer and connect only the USB hub to check if any conflicting devices were causing the issue.
5. If possible, try connecting the USB hub to another computer to see if it works there.
6. Inspect the USB hub for any physical damage, loose connections, or bent pins.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's likely that the USB hub has reached the end of its lifespan and may need to be replaced.

Replacement for non-working unit

I had one of these before and it died. This new one seems to be working well.

This works perfectly fine with the USB 3.0 BD drive I got at the same time, but not so much with other devices.
Specifically, my iPhone 7+ is unable to maintain a connection to my computer for reliable syncing when plugged into this hub even when it's the only device plugged in, regardless of which socket I use, though the further away from the USB/PC connector the worse it is. The same phone and cable work just fine on my older 2.0 hub that has my printer and wireless mouse receiver plugged in.
Thank you Luke, for your review. Enjoy your games!

DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK!!

I purchased two J5 Create 7-port Hub from Best Buy several years ago. They were expensive but did not work well. After unplugging using ejecting in the system and plugging it again, computer could not recognize it at all. I checked the system but did not find problem. Something must be wrong with the hub. The only way I could do was unplugging the hub and plugging again, which was ridiculous!! I really want the company to refund money to me since it is a junk!!
If you have more specific details about the issue, please reach out to j5create customer support team for troubleshooting. Thank you.

Horrible USB Hub

A generic *tech USB hub is fair more reliable and robust than this expensive USB hub. This is now my second J5 USB hub which has failed, the first stopped working. The second J5 USB hub randomly disconnects devices. It is now past the return or exchange window for Best Buy, so I contacted J5 support. J5 support suggested I purchase a different USB hub. I will purchase a different USB hub from a different manufacturer! Save your money and purchase from a different manufacturer! My $15 USB from Startech has proven to be far better than this over priced desk weight.
ED1492, We are sorry to hear the JUH377 was a poor experience for you. The hub is covered under the manufacturer's warranty and if in the future you experience any issues with our devices, please reach out to support and ask to speak with a supervisor. Thank you for your time and we hope we can still turn things around. Respectfully, j5create

Noisey when plugged in for audio uses.

I had got this to use in a home audio studio. I gave it an below average review because when it's plugged in, the transformer causes noise in the system. It's not for fidelity audio uses, though it seem durable so far.

When it works, Great

So I bought this to have a hub for my 4 external HDDs so I use them simultaneously with my laptop. I also use the powered plug to run my wireless mouse, which is great because that particular plug supplies power even when the laptop is off, allowing my mouse to charge when not in use. And the rounding out the last 2 plugs is my gaming headset. Works great. Except after ~2 weeks, the output USP port, the one that connects the hub and computer, is loose, every time it wobbles the whole thing disconnects, crashing the HDDs. Feels light and a little janky for $40 worth of USB hub too, in retrospect seems like a much cheaper product.
Connecting up to 4 external hard drives to the JUH377 can be finicky due to the amount of power required for all of them to work properly; because the power comes from the USB port on the computer where the hub is connected, it becomes divided into more ports and will not provide enough power to manage all of the drives and therefore, could result in the experience you had. There may be some troubleshooting that we can try to see if we get a different result. If interested, support information can be found on the packaging and an agent will be happy to help. Thank you, j5create

Usb power or charge via only ONE of the ports.

Only charges or provides power via ONE of the ports. If you have more than one device that needs power via usb this is NOT the device for you.
Hello, if you are in need of multiple USB ports that can charge devices as well such as mobile devices, please check out JUH370. Thank you for your review.

Why no zero star option?

This thing is straight up garbage. Do not get this thing if you have even one non powered portable hard drive that you want to connect. This thing will not power them. All it is good for is thumb drives and powered external drives. Who has 7 thumb drives they need to plug in at the same time? Not being able to use portable drives with a hub that is described by the manufacture as intended for "laptops and Macbooks", is disingenuous at best and a downright lie at worst. In short, stay away from this garbage. If you do buy this trash, make sure you save your receipt as Best Buy will not accept returns without a receipt and wont accept returns after 15 days.
I'm so sorry to hear you had this problem! We do have one port on the device that is powered, however the rest are dependent on your computer. That being said, in the time since your review, our products have always continued to improve and we'd be more than happy to have you give us a second chance so we can show you. We'd even be able to help you select a product that would better suit your needs and get you up and running.
Thanks, j5create

Does not supply power to all USB
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
What everything about the product doesn't tell you is that you can not power things such as RGB mouse pads, small USB desk lamps and other items such as this only requiring power...only one of the USB ports supply actual power to devices such as that... Even with the "host" and AC power plugged in I could only get actual power out of the one higher powered USB port. Tried the other ports for my RGB mousepad and nothing...only the fast charging USB port would power anything requiring only power... Not sure if mine was defective out of the box but I am returning it for something different
The USB 3.0 7-Port HUB allows up to seven USB 3.0 devices to be connected simultaneously at a transmission speed of 5 Gbps. One port supports fast charging for smartphones, tablets, iPad up to 2.4A. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Lag and dropped connections with keyboard dongles
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I use an HP wireless keyboard and Logitech wireless mouse, both of which require USB dongles, and this was one of the main reasons I bought this USB hub, since my laptop doesn't have enough USB ports. The HP dongle works only about 20% of the time through the hub, and the Logitech about 60-70% of the time, and other peripherals (eg Fujitsu scanner) also get dropped and require the hub to be unplugged from the USB port and replugged to restore connection. Even the disconnect/reconnect process doesn't restore the dongles a lot of the time. I've finally had to dedicate an on-board USB port on the laptop to the HP dongle because of the problems. I would not recommend this product, particularly if you need to run USB dongles through it.
I'm sorry to hear that you had this problem! Since the time of your review we've greatly improved all of our devices and drivers so we can minimize issues like this from happening. I hope that you would consider giving us a second chance so we can show you the difference!

Worked great at first for about 6 months, then I noticed my devices not connecting properly. The final straw was today I purchased a new microphone and thought it was defective and it was just two of my ports being blown on the hub :(
Hello Dstig, please contact our support team so they may be able to help trouble shoot the issue you are experiencing with the USB Hub. I apologize for the inconvenience. Respectfully, j5

Produces interference with wireless devices
Posted .

So I liked this hub but I started noticing that if my keyboard or trackpad was plugged in (I use an iMac) and I brought my Mac out of sleep mode that my keyboard and trackpad were not recognized. I had to unplug them and then plug them back in for the computer to recognize them. When I contacted j5 support they informed me that the USB 3 used by the hub produces radio interference that disrupts the wireless connection of some devices including Mac keyboards and trackpads! Who sells a device for use on a computer designed for wireless peripherals that produces a signal that interferes with wireless peripherals? Their support team told me to expect the problem to continue. Bottom line, don't buy this if you're using an iMac.
Radio Frequency Interference is definitely an issue for alot of wireless device users and we understand the inconvenience this causes; we do have another Mini Dock with a USB 2.0 port on it that may be a better choice for your setup. I recommend contacting the support team with their information on the packaging for further information on Leaky Waves and other work arounds this issue. Respectfully, j5create

Didn't work

Didn't work for me. It ran my keyboard and mouse fine but the first time I tried to copy some simple files (.wav audio files) it kept giving me an error that the transfer was interrupted. I know that the problem comes from this device because I've been using a cheap-o unpowered hub up until now and I never had that problem - this is the only thing that changed. I'm going to need to return it and hopefully can find a similar item from a more reliable brand that will actually work.
Hello and thank you for the review. We're sorry to hear the JUH377 stopped working as intended. The JUH377 is covered under the manufacturer's 2 year warranty and if interested in seeking an exchange, please feel free to contact the technical support team mentioned on the casing and a rep will be glad to help. unusable power supply

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
im giving this one star because i just bought this, took it home, and discovered that the power supply is missing the male plugs, rendering the product completely useless. on the outside of the box it says the power supply is optional, which isnt true if you want to plug in an external drive, which is the only reason anyone would purchase this over a cheaper one. i called their customer service line twice, and both times i waited for 15 minutes before being passed off to an answering machine. still havent heard from anyone. i will be returning this product and recommending that everyone stay away from this company, including all you lovely people.
Noah, We regret to hear the JUH377 did not have the male prongs in the casing. In such cases, we recommend contacting the support team, asking to speak with a supervisor and we would get this handled immediately. We apologize for the inconvenience here and hope we may still turn this around. Respectfully, j5create

Didn't even last 2 months

Worked fine for the first month it was installed then the issues began. Connected devices began to drop in and out. Then it stopped functioning with my mouse and keyboard completely. It provides enough power to light the LEDs on the mouse and keyboard, but not enough for them to actually function. Note: Only 2 of the available 7 ports may be connected before failure occurs. Since this device is unable to support a simple mouse, keyboard and wireless adapter without failing, I highly doubt it will be usable for the Oculus Rift I had intended to use it for.
