Just to clarify one thing; the power supply is optional in the event that you need to plug in a high powered USB device like an external hard drive. The JUH377 will support devices like keyboards, mice, and flash drives without needing to plug in the optional power adapter.

Extra Ports that work!

It has been added to my docking station to creat additional ports for all my other stuff I use to game with. It really does work well.

Powers All Devices

Without it, I will lose connection when hooked to multiple hard drives. I have my soundcard, hard drives, and Midi controller devices all with stable connection.

Critical for new PCs

Great for multiple external hard drives

This works very well for this purpose without having to get find an open USB port on the back of my computer.

Multiple monitors take a different splitter though.

Needed More Ports Than Today's Laptops Provide

I needed this item to make up for the lack of USB-A ports on my new laptop. This hub does the job. Definitely get a hub that has a few more ports than you think you need. This hub enables me to leave my wireless mouse receiver plugged directly into the laptop at all times which prevents the signal from being blocked vs. if I plugged it in somewhere else. My only wish for this device would be a longer power cord.
