I use my laptop as a desktop and have a limited amount of USB ports. This gave me the additional ports I needed to power up my wired gaming keyboard and mouse. In regards to the quality and feel, the J5 has a nice feel to it. The body of it is sort of metallic. The feel of it is premium compared to other USB hubs I have experienced that were plastic. It has some weight to it and stays put wherever you place it compared to other hubs that are plastic and lightweight, and never stayed where you put it. It also has a AC plug to give you the additional power that you need so you don't drain the laptop battery. The cost is pretty comparable to the other hubs on the market. It really comes down to preference and quality. I researched a lot of hubs before deciding on this one. I have never head of this brand but I'm glad I chose them.

I loved this product, each 3.0 port is individually charged to 1gbps- Not combined but separately powered ports with each creating it's own 1Gbps and you don't need pesky buttons to turn reach one off and on- if you aren't using a certain port, then that Port is not in use and it's not being used by your power or energy source. Also, I liked that it has some weight to it not too much but enough to keep the wires from moving the J5 all over the place and feels very which is nice so I didn't need a double-sided tape to stick it down or anything like that and it works fantastically I highly recommend this item for laptops computers basically anything you need even car for extra ports among other things

My older computer does not have USB3.0 so I can't evaluate this hub yet. I went ahead with the purchase anticipating my next computer would be able to take advantage of the USB 3.0. Everything works, i.e. Thumb drives, external hard drives and IOS devices. The only thing that won't work is an external DVD drive. Maybe on my next computer, that will as well

I needed additional usb ports for my devices. The J5create had ample ports (7) with one of them a powered port. So far it is working great. I don't notice any lag on i/o to my drives.

I travel a lot, and I always check to see if there is a Best Buy in the town I visit because I never know if I will need top-notch expert assistance with my computer. I was happy to find my "home-away-from-home" in Wichita Falls, Texas. And sure enough, I needed them on this trip. The Geek Squad was kind, professional, courteous, and happy. Thank you friends, for being there for us.

Does essentially what it claims to you. Set up is painless and USB cord is nearly 3 feet long to accommodate most rigs.
One minor set back, however, is the power consumption. If you're running, say: an external sound card, an external SSD drive, printer cable, wireless USB mouse receiver, this unit cannot support all those accessories at once without plugging it into its power supply.
Said power supply is a mouse sized, dual pronged (not grounded) plug. Having a power supply running on an ungrounded plug introduces a ton of ambient and electronic noise into the signal chain if you're a DJ, like I am.
Additionally, running that match hardware through a single multiport will heat up your PC/Mac something fierce, so if you don't have a cooling fan you'll quickly reach maximum core temperatures.
Those issues aside, works just fine and I have no complaints. Is compatible with the HP Spectre x360 that only has a single USB C port.
Hello, Glad to hear that the hub is working for you. Without using the power supply everything that is plugged into the hub has to get its power from the single USB port that the hub is plugged into. We appreciate your feedback. Have a good day, The j5create team

Put this underneath my desk to hide away and plug in all my usb 3 devices, and it works perfectly. Great build and seems to be made to last, performance is on par with my onboard usb 3 port on computer, and it powers all my devices. Can not ask for more, a bit pricy but got it on sale and haven't looked back since.

I read numerous poor reviews about this product prior to buying. This was the only option my store had with more than 3 USB ports so I decided to try it. Perhaps I got lucky. The unit feels solidly built (has a nice weight to it). It has a fast charge port for my phone (which was one of my requirements) and the USB 3 standard speeds are met on every port. I have all my peripherals as well as two external hard drives attached and have had ZERO issues. The fast charge port is labeled to make sure you are using the correct port for fast charging (I noted this due to several people saying fast charging doesn't work). This is a powered unit so the amount of items plugged in DOES NOT MATTER. I love it and will buy another if needed.

Bought this for my wife as an expansion hub for her new Dell 2-in-One. worked great right out of the box. The wife hasn't complained so all must be well with the device. Did not plug in the power supply so I can't address that aspect of the product. Docked it a star because it seems a bit pricey for what it does.
Being short on the USB ports for gadgets can be frustrating; thanks to the 7 port hub, you can now connect mice, keyboards, flash drives, webcams, and more all to your computer; it's up to 5 Gbps data transfer sped make this a stand out device. Gratefully, j5create

This unit is small and has the USB ports conveniently arranged on the side instead of the top making for convenient cable management. USB 3.0 and a charging port also included. Instantly recognized by my iMac. This is a great value.
Hello, A USB hub is a great solution for organizing all your peripherals in one place, so you do not have a tangle of wires in your workspace. This hub is also plug and play, so there is no extra software to download to get it to work. Thanks, j5create

Nice, streamlined appearance, adding 7 additional usb 3 (backward compatible) ports. The unit comes with an additional cable that plugs into any common 110 wall outlet or power strip sending additional power to the hub. It can be conveniently located or kept out of the way.
Conveniently keeping all cords tucked away and outputting great performance for transferring data - we appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve! Thanks Pepper, j5create

I had a four port Insignia and the ports seemed to stretch out. The sales person suggested this one even tho it was higher priced. It seems to be working out so far and I hope it doesn't stretch out like the Insignia did.
Hello, I believe that you made the right choice by choosing the JUH377. You are getting more ports with the JUH377 and it also has an optional power supply included. Thank you, j5create

I purchased the j5create - 7-port USB 3.0 Hub on October 13. I paid $ 39.99 for the unit and put it to use the day I purchased it. I have two USB 3.0 flash drives, 1 USB 2.0 flashdrive, 1 mouse, and 1 aux. hard-drive plugged into the unit. It is now October 30. The unit has worked great for me. I learned that, on set up, it's best to plug in my devices one at a time, and leave a few minutes in between for my computer to recognize each device. I went too fast, plugging everything in at one time, in a sift set up. As a result some of my devices were unrecognized by my computer. I was ready to return it thinking it was defective until I got the idea to unplug it and start over ─ plugging in each device and waiting about 5-minutes before plugging in each successive device.
Hello, Glad to hear that he JUH377 is working well for you. Connecting several devices to your computer at once can cause issues with recognizing the devices if you are using a hub or not. I am happy to hear that you were able to sort it out. Thank you, j5create

This works as I wanted it to. It is a good size and expands my USB 3 to 7 ports. It is exactly what it is advertised to be.

Works exactly as advertised but in reality the situations in which 7 powered USB 3.0 connections are needed are probably more related to charging than to needing that level of thruput x7. Consider what it will be used for as there are better/cheaper ways to keep devices charged if that is the real goal

I seem to have bad luck getting USB ports to last. Hopefully this one will make it past a year. As it is, right now it is performing well and giving me no trouble. Its shape fits in better on my desk as well. Plusses all around.
