Purchased this exclusively for the keyboard/mouse switching functionality, so I can't speak to the rest of the features. Some thoughts: 1) first unit wouldn't stay connected (app would not run for more than a few seconds on Windows 10). I went to the j5create support site and downloaded what was labeled as the latest driver for windows 10, which turned out to be a firmware update on the adapter itself. About halfway through the update, I got a failure message. The unit was not recognized by either PC after that. It showed that the read only drive which launches the app (built into the cable) was empty and unformatted. 2) Swapped the device out at my local BBY. Second one also would not stay connected to the Win10 machine. This time, knowing the "driver" was actually a firmware update tool, I launched it from my WIn7 machine. This completed successfully. Even after this "Windows 10 driver" was installed, the app would crash after the two computers connected. I ended up setting the app to run in Windows 8 compatibility mode as administrator, and now it runs flawlessly. 3) I do see that it creates the network connection between the devices but I have not used that feature. I just set up a hotkey to swap my control over to the windows 7 machine, and it works extremely well with minimal lag on the remote machine, and introduces zero perceptible lag to the host machine. My main reason for purchasing the device was so that I could use my gaming mechanical keyboard and mouse with my work laptop when I had it docked at my desk at home. I did not want to use a traditional KVM as I had read they can introduce lag into your keystrokes. This does not seem to cause any issues and I am very pleased. The working unit is easily worth 5 stars, but the setup headaches and inaccurate description on their site caused me to deduct 2 stars.

I needed a cable to use Migration Assistant on my iMac to a MacBook Pro. This cable, while a good one, was not useable for that kind of procedure. Otherwise, it would be a great transfer cable.

Works well to transfer files directly from 1 computer to another.. So does removable USB drives, or a network connection, or the Cloud. I was looking for a product to mirror the drive of a current computer to a new one, and this was NOT what I needed. The recommendation is actually a Maybe - depending on their need.

Product seemed to have a small glitch that blanked out the screen using the file navigator for copying instead of the drag and drop which blanked out the screen when going from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 on Apple products but tech support helped me figure out the issue and I was using it without a problem using an alternate copy method. Great Product for the price. Ingenious! I highly recommend!

Sales associate suggested this to transfer data and apps from old to new laptop. I was a bit uneasy because the old one was damaged in a fall which made the display sketchy. It took awhile because bad display meant difficulty finding and controlling the cursor but it ultimately worked perfectly. All the apps, bookmarks, display and files transferred intact. DIY transfer without the geek guys.

Software between two Windows 10 machines is not straightforward. Good for basic file migration. Remote control or screen extension not so much.

Product was as described. The plug-and-play design helps make setup easy.

Instructions are a little short. Doesn't say why it asks you which computer is on the left or right. It's so your mouse knows where to go to find the other machine. Works just like dual-screen. It also doesn't quite fill in how it works with files/folders, since that's not intuitive. It wants to copy folders, not individual groups of files. But it works fine on Win10. No problems with connectivity at all. No real setup other than loading a small program to each machine. Takes only 1 minute or two.

I did buy a cd/dvd reader to go with my MacBook Air. It works well.

The cable works great on multiple computers, having a PC and a MacBook I no longer have to use a separate mouse and keyboard and when transferring files. Although one drawback is that you have to install software on both systems and sometimes it doesn't work flawlessly every-time and you have to disconnect and reattached the cable sometimes to get it to work, but when it does work it is great.

I thought the 'transfer' through wormhole would just allow me to transfer everything from one desktop MAC to another effortlessly (including passwords, all my downloads, etc). But, I had to manually drag items from one computer to the other. That said, it worked just fine!

This product consists of a cable and software program. The software program required an update before I could use it. The bottom line is that this cable / system worked for me. I think the company could spend a little time and get this system to work a little better / easier. It took me a couple of tries but I got it to mostly work. In the end I had to manually transfer a few files that I needed that did not come across with this system. I am not "Unhappy" with this product, but for the price it could be better.

Hook between old and new computer to transfer files. Works like a champ!

Easiest way to transfer files from my old Vista to new Windows 10 computer.

This is a pretty user friendly product. After long periods of non-use while it's plugged in, it may automatically disconnect and reconnect and disconnect, so that's a bit glitchy. But otherwise, it's a great product. The ability to use the same mouse on two computers is a nice touch as well.

Needed this to redo my entire laptop. Wanted something quick and simple to move files copied from hard-drive to laptop, back to reset laptop. Although any such file transfers via cables are usually slow, this worked just as I needed it to.

No issues at all in getting this to work. Worked the first time.

I have many J5 Create devices and like them all. Thought this would be as good. User interface is not good between the two PCs. It works, but cumbersome and way over priced. I much prefer my older Targus transfer cable, but needed a newer one that supported Win 10. This one does, but hard to get program to be recognized in Win 7 and has mentioned the user interface is not the best
