I bought this unit in order to use it when we were camping without electricity and it started at a full charge of 100% and we were able to charge our phones and certain other electronics all through the weekend and it only got down to 40%. . Would 100% recommend this to anybody. It recharges with any solar panel so I did not buy the jackery brand and was able to use both our other ones with it. No problems with it so far and I've used it four to five times.

I really like this portable power pack. It's a very convenient supply of electricity when you are on the go. It's great for charging all of your electronics and for giving you power for your entertainment, power tools, lights, whatever you might need when you're away from home, or during a power outage. I bring it with us when we're on vacation just in case.

I needed to find a power source for our balcony which has no power outlets so we could put up our holiday lights and an inflatable. This worked perfectly! I am very happy with it and looking forward to finding more uses for it.

I’ve been using the Jackery Explorer 290 for a few weeks now, and I’m seriously impressed. Whether I’m camping, working remotely at the park, or just preparing for potential power outages, this little unit has been a game changer. It’s compact and lightweight, yet powerful enough to charge my laptop, phone, and even run small appliances like a mini fan or LED light. WARNING do not try to run a computer tower off it, it will not work. The LCD screen is super helpful for keeping an eye on battery levels, and it charges back up quickly with solar or wall input. I especially love how quiet it is—no annoying generator noise, just clean, reliable power. Highly recommended for anyone who wants dependable energy in a portable package!

Good product, does what I need it to do. Bought it for a battery backup during our Florida storms. I haven’t had a chance to test it out yet but it charged quickly. Less than an hour from the ac outlet. There is only one outlet on this model, so I’ll have to use a power strip to run more than one thing at a time. But it also has 2 type A usb ports for charging phones or other tech. It can be charged through your vehicle power outlet as well, just don’t try it without the engine running or it will drain your battery. It comes with the cable for charging from the car and the wall ac. I have a solar panel to hook up to it soon so I can run the lights and a fan in my shed and charge my batteries. That requires me to purchase a cable, they are easy to find on line and pretty cheap, but which one you get is determined by the connector on the solar panel you have.It is smaller than I expected, about the size of a child’s lunch box. And the li-on batteries make it very light, so I can keep it hooked up to the solar panel for my shed and bring it in the house to run lights and fans during storms, or put a mini fridge in the shed and use it with the solar panels to keep some of my food cold after the hurricanes. Either way it will be a very useful purchase.

Glad I picked up the Jackery because it provided so much power at our popup tent event. Our event lasted from early morning to the evening when it was dark. It powered my register, string lights, charge card swiper, and all our phones and still had a lot of battery left! So concenient and powerful. We didnt have to stress about power.

Good prepper item but poorly packed shipping box.

I got this item due to worry about the hot summer weather approaching in 2022 in the Northeast USA. I do have smaller portable power banks, but I wanted something that could use solar panels as an option in an emergency. A warning about the shipping. This Jackery was not available for local pickup. Only shipping was available. I received the item in a poorly packed, beat-up, rain-soaked cardboard box. The shipping box had way too much open space; so it was sliding around in transport. I can see large curved indentations where the empty space gave way to heavier stacked items. Best Buy sure has untrained and inept packers and shippers for their items. If this were a fragile laptop, I would have immediately shipped it back and got a full refund. At least the retail packaging actually have custom shaped foam in its own box that protected the Jackery. The Jackery 290 is small and not very heavy. I tested the AC port and the two USB connections simultaneously with and iPad and two smartphones. The iPad power adapter felt warm in the AC adapter. All three devices were drawing 30 W of power. The LCD display is simple, yet informative. I don't need those colorful displays that would even use more power. I did not test the 12V port. This port does not have a dust cover, so take care not to get dust inside it. I tested charging this unit via the included 65W AC adapter. Be aware that the AC brick is extremely hot while charging. You should not leave this unattended charging near flammable items. It took about four hours to charge from 38% to 100% via the AC adapter using 61 W of power. I noticed the input was dropping from almost to zero watts as the Jackery went from 99 to 100 percent. This is a good safety feature. I will store this for three months and take it back out to see how much power has been lost.

This is not going to keep you warm in a storm or keep your refrigerator on for any length of time. However, its great for short amounts of time, and recharging phones. A tiny 120v heater ran for 2 hours or so with this generator fully charged.

When it went on sale I bought it. Luv the size and weight. Though it only has one AC outlet I can get an extension cord. The one negative is the USB ports. Two USB-A but no USB-C. I bought a USB-A to USB-C adapters to use them Unfortunately the USB output is low giving my cell phones/tablets a warning of slow charging. A fast charging USB port would be nice.

This little powerhouse kept my multicolored camp tent lights going all night long, and still had juice for my phone charging, and air up air mattresses with pump. Amazing little tool. I actually plugged in 2 box fans and was only at 150watts (75watts x's 2 fans). I almost bought a second one. Will look into a solar panel as a next purchase.

Nice, solid design. Not sure why they call it a Solar Generator though - it's just a battery pack with outlets and an inverter. I guess you can get a solar panel to charge it with, but I would only do that if I were going to be camping where there isn't an electrical outlet to use to charge. I think it will serve my purpose very well - to power a telescope tracking mount. I got what I think is a really good price, but if I had thought about it/read up a little more, it probably would have been better to get the newer model that uses the Fe battery since they seem to last longer. The standard Li-ion battery will probably last me a few years, though.
