Interesting documentary of James Cameron and crew designing and building a deep sea sub and Cameron's trip down in that sub. The 3d was a nice addition with the effects ranging from pretty good to great depending on the scene. Any fan of Imax 3d presentations and Ghosts of the Abyss 3d will surely like this one too.

Deepsea Challenge Blu-ray covers the development & trial runs through & including the 1st Mariana Trench dive. Highly recommended before seeing the IMAX 3D presentation scheduled for release in Jan 2015.

This documentary is interesting but not very exciting. It is also pretty short at 90 minutes and the release is really lacking in the special features department with only two very brief featurettes included.

Interesting even though it comes off as a self tribute by James Cameron at times - guess he's earned that right... 3D varies from average at best to wow - overall worth watching.

A bit slow getting started, too much build-up. Good 3D when he wasn't diving so deep. but that far down there is really nothing to see. Lots of sand and silt.

James Cameron does it best when it comes to traveling below the ocean surface! This show is breathtaking in beautiful HD!!

First, this is the 3D/Blu-Ray/DVD combo version (the listing is wrong). The PQ and 3D is fantastic. I found it to be very interesting to watch, but wish they had shown more footage of the "deep" at the end. The majority of the footage comes from the "journey" to the deep. Regardless, I was very entertained, and it was worth the cheap price. If you enjoyed Ghosts of the Abyss 3D, then this is for you.
