Have to unplug and reconnect every time I turn the tv off

Expensive piece of garbage

Every couple of minutes, the sound pauses for a couple of seconds. This happens constantly. The sound when working is good. Bass setting is 1 to 5 and there is no other equalizer settings. I want to return this garbage.

Try to use a different HDMI cable, or Optical cable if available, and try to test the soundbar with a different source. Observe if the same issue persists. Would not buy this again. I think Sonos outdoes JBL in this catagory.

Disconnect from tv. Than, does not work at all. Bluetooth does not work. I feel frustrated because I have been ripped off. Than Best Buy only give you 13 days to return it.

Not a pleasing sound

Huge jbl fan, but the sound was just not very good. The balance was poor and the bass could not be tamed. The room correction was nice and it did spread the sound well, but overall the sound was harsh at times and muddy at others. Ended up returning.

Connection issues.
We were really excited about this purchase and couldn't wait to try it out during March Madness. Unfortunately, the wireless connection would fail after just a few minutes of play.
We hear your feedback regarding our JBL Bar 500. Please note that we best recommend connecting the soundbar via wired using HDMI or Optical cable. Bluetooth or wireless connection often experiences wireless interference and delays. To avoid interference, always have a clear line of sight between the source and the soundbar. We're here to help with your JBL Bar 500. Please try to power cycle the soundbar by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then plugging it back into a power source. To isolate if it's a power-related issue, try plugging the power cord of the soundbar into a different outlet. Check if there's any damage on the power cord, or try switching the power cord of the soundbar and the subwoofer to see if the issue continues. Please do not trust online open boxes stuff because online saying excellent condition staff and when you receive the staff most the time stuff is a damage, not worth it Best Buy has a very rude customer service

This review is related to the installation of our new JBL Soundbar installed by a Geek Squad subcontractor. While the the sound worked before they left, when I went to watch my Netflix account, there was no sound thru the soundbar. We have a Total Tech membership but Best Buy customer service refuses to send someone to our home to fix it without charging a $100 fee for the service. I feel if it's not done properly the first time, Best Buy should make it "right". We are in our 70's and totally NOT tech savvy!

Doesn’t meet up to the standards we expected for the price. We’ve been Bose buyers for many years and decided to try JBL but now I wish we’d have gone with Bose. After the return period it started blanking out on occasion and we have to shut it down and restart again. Very disappointing purchase.

I've had this for a couple weeks now and I successfully hooked it up to my TV and had it working. Unfortunately, the sound will only intermittently will work when watching TV. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - and pressing the TV button on the remote does nothing. Look elsewhere.

Very disappointed with this purchase. Constantly have to unplug it and plug back in to get it to work. Also rarely syncs up audio with video.
We're here to help with your JBL Bar 500. Make sure that the HDMI cable is connected and plug to HDMI OUT (TV ARC) of the soundbar to the HDMI ARC of the TV. To adjust the audio delay and match it with the video, press and hold the volume minus or plus on the remote control within five seconds. The audio sync timing will display. Dosent hook up well to my 4k smart tv and sound is poor

I was really looking forward to using this soundbar, and i bought it “Open Box Excellent” from Best Buy and that was a big mistake. I opened the box when I got it home and was very disappointed. The soundbar/subwoofer set came with NO POWER CORDS & NO REMOTE! This was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT because I wasn’t able to set the soundbar or subwoofer up because I didn’t have any power cords to power the system and there was no remote to set up the soundbar/subwoofer system.

I purchased an “open box” item that was marked as in “excellent” condition indicating that no items would be missing. Well, turns out there was no remote or HDMI cord. Definitely false advertising.

7/3/24 The Samsung 65 " TV and JBL Soundbar has not worked properly since the day it was installed. At lease 3 to 4 times a week the soundbar will either come on at startup or drop out during use. In order to restart it I have to do a recycle he power cord. Not what I expected to have to live with for $2400 system.

The JBL Sound bar keeps kicking out. I called tech support 4 times on the sound bar. If this JBL goes out one more time it's going back to Best Buy in Conway.
