JLab Audio Gravity Bluetooth Neckband Adaptor & Earbuds (Black) Model #EBGRAVITYRBLK62 MSRP: $39.99 Summary: This lightweight, comfortable, IPX4 water-resistant neckband (<2oz) is made of soft, flexible, medical-grade silicon rubber. It rests easily above your shoulders/around your neck & connects wirelessly to your headphones/earbuds. Great for use while exercising. Neckband includes digital mic for hands-free conversations & simple, easy-to-use, universal controls, incl.: call answer/hang up as well as volume up/down, play/pause, & click-&-hold track-forward/back buttons for listening to music. Control buttons are large enough to give a sure, no-look, tactile feel. Pairing: The Bluetooth 4.1 wouldn’t auto-pair w/any device, but thanks to JLab's sticky note on the Quick Start Guide, which showed the manual Bluetooth pairing option, I was still able to pair quickly. Once paired, the connection was solid up to the advertised 30ft. Compatibility: With the neckband's 3.5mm-to-Bluetooth adapter, you can convert your favorite wired headphones, regardless of style/brand into Bluetooth headphones. Sound Quality: JLab's Signature C3 technology provides crisp, clear sound via the titanium drivers in the JBuds Pro, but there's absolutely no bass, no equalizer options, & no real noise canceling features (save for the ‘noise isolating design’). So these headphones are good for phone calls & listening to podcasts, but not as good for listening to music. Since the neckband has a 3.5mm headphone jack, as a comparison, I connected 1 of my better-quality headphone sets to the neckband & experienced noticeable bass & midrange improvement. Still, the included earbud headphones compared favorably to the headphone sets purchased w/my last 3 smartphones. The microphone quality is also very good. As a test, I engaged in several smartphone telecons w/my spouse, & we found that the voice clarity/sound quality was about the same, both w/the incl. headphones & w/o any headphones, for both the initiator & receiver of calls. Ear Buds: Comes w/3 pairs of quality gel cushion ear tips (small, medium, large) which are very smooth, provide a great fit/seal in the ear, & are easy to clean. Cush Fin Technology: Comes w/2 Cush Fins (medium/large), allowing each wearer a customized/secure fit. The Cush Fin fits into the outer ear to provide support/stabilization for the earbud: https://youtu.be/_J5CqamD-NQ. Cord Management System: Cord mgmt. options are in the instructions, & JLab's website offers a few helpful tutorials on the subject at www.jlabaudio.com. But the cord keeper needs some work, as the 3¼ ft. cord won’t stay taut/secure, no matter how carefully/tightly it’s wrapped around the hidden neckband loop that’s supposed to keep it in place. Would prefer a retractable cord. Rechargeable Battery: Charging: Takes 1½ hrs. to charge dead battery to 100% w/incl. micro-USB charging cable. Life: Claims 10hr of music playtime & 12hr of talk time. I used the neckband/headphones for 8½ hrs. over the weekend w/o any battery issues, & they still had some juice left. Packaging: Nice & minimalist. Warranty: 1yr limited w/30-day satisfaction guarantee. Rating: Except for the poorly designed cord "mgmt." system, I like the neckband adaptor more than the headphones. Great concept but lacks quality execution.

    Nice bluetooth adapter

To start short and sweet: Basically, this is a glorified bluetooth adapter to convert a wired headset into a bluetooth one. The included JLAB headset is just a nice bonus. Overall, the packaging is really well done. Very minimum. Inside the top-open box is the headset and the neck band adapter. Underneath the blue plastic molding is a bag containing the charging cable. Instructions are also very minimal and is printed on the cardboard underneath, referring you to the manufacturer's website for the "full" manual and instructions. Sound quality is pretty great and much better than I was expecting for the included earbuds. The earbuds fit great and secure, no issues there. The neckband bluetooth adapter is great, but with the silicone-type material it is made of, it tends to slip around at times. I almost lost it once because it is so light-weight, you can't even tell you have it on. It slipped down my back and the only way I knew it was because I still had the earbuds in and I felt a tug. Sound quality of the included headset is also pretty good. Nice and loud when needed and I also noticed when talking to my friend, he said that he could hear way less background noise than he's used to hearing when talking to me. So, that's a nice plus! Overall, my only complaint besides it slipping around easily is that the earbuds don't retract. Of course, with this being a 3.5mm to bluetooth converter, basically, that I can use ANY earbud/headphone with, I don't see how that would be possible anyway. It's nice to have the option to replace the earbuds only and to be able to use any brand, any quality headset I want. There is a padded area at the middle of the neckband where you put the excess cord of the earbuds to hide it. I'd definitely recommend these, but ONLY if the neckband style earbuds are your thing.

Great Concept, good value but the actual headphones are only okay. The sound quality is okay, the good news is if your music player has an equalizer, use it, it will help with the quality! One of the best parts about this device is the bluetooth connection. There is a note on the outside of the box, "Instantly Wireless, plug-in any earbud, any brand or use those included." So basically you are paying to use the included headphones or use your own favorite wired headphones and this will make you wireless. Big plus for the new iPhone 7 Plus users that don't want to use the headphone adapter. The absolute hands down best part of this device is the connectivity. You don't have to have your connecting device near you to use. I walked all over the house and the bluetooth still WORKED!!!!!!!!!!! So all in all, bluetooth that actually works, if your not happy with the existing audio-you can change it and the call quality is good! I would actually buy these headphones again and buy for the family! Great job JLab!

I've been wanting a wireless headset for a long time, so I was looking forward to getting these. Bluetooth connectivity was easy to set up. One of the first thing that the manufacturer tells you to do is to "burn" in the audio using their app. I downloaded the app and registered my product. Then, I set up the unit to be "burned in". You are supposed to let this app run for 40 hours to properly break in your headset for "maximum" usage. Every ten minutes the app starts over with the most annoying set of sounds. I had it on my desk next to me and, even at the "medium" volume (as recommended), it was obnoxious. Then, for some reason, it would lose connectivity with the headset and then start blasting through my phone. If you do this with your headset, I'd put it in a closet, or an unused room, or under a pillow to run. I stopped it after about a day and a half. Then I had to recharge the headphone so I could test it out. When I finally got to use it, I found it to be similar in sound to any other ear buds that I've tried. I wasn't impressed by the sound of my music coming through the buds. I do really like the fact that you can hook up any set of ear buds of your choice into this unit. If you had a favorite set, you can use them instead of what comes in the box. I would still recommend them as they are comfortable and functional, but it's just not terribly special.

I really like the quality of the sound of the included earbuds, however since this Bluetooth headset is designed to be more of an adapter for any earbuds you may have, the cable management isn't as good as a full blow independent Bluetooth one. Even trying to tidy up the cables, some of them are left dangling or coming of the little compartment on the back to store excess cabling. The best pro of this set, is, you can use your favorite earbuds with them and make them Bluetooth. The included ones are more than fine though, with good bass and clarity. The battery life is great, they take me for a full work day (8 hours) with extra spare (I haven't run them until dead, because once I'm out of work, I don't use earbuds for music).

As I started to put together these headphones I thought "cool, full sized headphones converted into bluetooth wireless headphones"! This excitement vaporized quickly. First let me explain the construction of the headphones. You take full sized earbud headphones and plug them into the neckband. Then you wrap the cord around the back of the neck piece leaving the left and right earbuds the appropriate length free to stick into your ears. This leaves the cables very sloppy and does not give the headphones a nice tight feel. There is loose cable all over the place. They include 2 small cable braces to "train" the cable around the neckband but it still does not prevent loose cables all around this entire contraption. So I came up with a brilliant idea! Use my own headphones that have a nylon covering around the cable. This would allow for an easier managing of the loose cables. Wrong. The headphones sounded terrible and the volume was very low. It seems as if the included headphones are the only ones that will work with it. I could be wrong as I did not test with several of my own headphones but the one set I did failed to work. The actual earbuds themselves are very nice. They fit perfectly in the ear canal and are actually some of the best fitting earbuds I own. I wish they were built into the neckband and were much cleaner as far as the cables go. Overall these headphones are nice, and easy to pair. I just hate cable clutter which is why I like wireless headphones to begin with.

Bought these on a deal of the day and wasn’t expecting much based on the price. The exceed what I was expecting! Sound awesome for what I needed them for. Definitely not high end but I wasn’t looking for high end. The only negative is that the ear buds dangle when you don’t have them in.

I tried this, to re-purpose some decent wired earbuds I had (Shure e2c). The sound was decent, but the wires on the buds were too large to fit in the wire guides on this device, so I returned it, and bought some dedicated bluetooth buds (jaybird X3, which are excellent). If you had earbuds with less robust wiring, this would probably work, but it's still somewhat large and requires some fiddling to get everything in place.

    Favorite Wired Into Wireless

The JLAB Gravity headset comes with two parts to it - a neckband adapter and earbuds. This set-up allows you to turn any wired headset into a wireless headset which can connect to Bluetooth media devices. All this is accomplished through the neckband - where the battery (10-hours battery life is about right), microphone (which is used for making calls) and the connector for your standard 3.5mm ear-jack, are located. The neckband is light and comfortable, and very flexible. In the center, on the back, there is a cord keeper which keeps your cord from getting tangled and up out of the way while you're using it. Along the curved neckband, there are grooved holders for the left and right cords that go to the earbuds themselves. The earbuds included with the neckband are decent and comfortable, and come with S,M,L ear inserts for a snug fit. But here is where the unit shines. You don't need to use the earbuds that come with the neckband. You can use any wired earbuds or over-the-ear headphones you want. The neckband turns your favorite wired earbuds, into wireless ones. And higher end earbuds do make a difference in sound quality. For making calls it works just 'okay' as the microphone is there on the neckband around your neck and away from your mouth, which makes the audio sound a little far away, and there is no noise cancelling. The earbud jack will accept earbuds that are both stereo and stereo w/built-in mic, but you have to adjust the insertion of the jack while listening to something in order to be able to tell when you have both earbuds working. The power cord is 10 inches long, and is the standard USB to USB micro, though any power cord of the same configuration will charge the unit. Bottom line, if you have a favorite wired headset or pair of earbuds and want to turn them into wireless, this JLAB Gravity neckband may just be what you're looking for.

Good value at this price point, especially if you have wired headphones that you really love. Overall, this is a device that I'd recommend to anybody looking for the convenience of Bluetooth at a great price. Below is some pros and cons that I found while using them. Pros: • Connectivity was great, tried with multiple devices, including a laptop, and several phones. • Very easy to use with only 3 buttons to control a wide range of capabilities: 1) + button to control volume and double press to skip to next track 2) - button to do the opposite of + 3) > button for everything else, power, pair mode, play/pause, answer, hangup, open voice recognition on your phone, Google assistant, Siri, etc. (Note: I don't actually have an iPhone, but I assume that it will summon Siri) • Call quality was acceptable for this device. Most people wouldn't purchase this for the sole purpose of placing calls. Call clarity was decent, with people that I called telling me they could hear me without issues. • Fit - pretty comfortable ear buds with the default size tips. The little "fins" are pretty comfortable and help to hold them in place, but if you don't like them, they're removable. • Battery life: The stated battery life is 10 hours. I haven't worn them all day yet to test that, but as a spec, that's pretty good, and should get you through the day. • The neck band is pretty light weight and comfortable. Cons: • Out of the box, the quick start guide said that it would be in pair mode upon powering up. Not so, but that's not a big deal, just hold the > button until the LED flashes blue/red. • Sound quality - the included ear buds were OK, with decent highs and mids, and passable lows. Not the best I own, but acceptable. If you're looking for the best quality sound, this isn't what you're looking for. However, at the $40 price point, it's what I expected.
