An exact replacement for our 8-year old KitchenAid compactor. If you get the custom panel ready version, beware that the install service fee does not include installing the custom panel. It was only 4 screws that exactly lined up since it was an exact replacement. So no big deal, I did it myself and the install crew did the rest.

Much better than the alternatives currently available, which don't seem to have "dense pack" --- but not as good as the Kitchen-Aid compactor that I had at my previous house for 22 years --- which I found easier to operate.

Beautiful completes my kitchen!!! Light weight, slides easily from under the cabinet and hums when compacting garbage.

This trash compactor has made life much easier. We don’t have to take the trash out everyday. It super user friendly.

I wish I could give this product a great review, but i just can't. I bought it to replace another KitchenAid unit that gave me 18 years of faithful service. However, this one stopped working properly after just 3 months. A few welds on the trash drawer have given way, and now the drawer won't open and close properly. I wish that was the worst part, but i have been visited by two separate service companies that KitchenAid sent out. Both companies agree on the same issue, and both have told me they can't get replacement parts. I contacted KitchenAid service with this problem, and it has been SILENCE. It's as thought they simply do not care, and this is a $1,700 appliance. This may be the last KitcheAid product i ever buy. Very sad.

We owned the older KitchenAid model for 15 years. It was great and dependable. The door on this model does not close properly. There is a foot petal that does not always initiate the compacting. Very disappointed after paying $$$$ for this product.

This model is more efficient and easier to use. It is very quiet but disappointed they did not offer in the stainless black

We have had the unit for a couple of months and no issues. Performs about the same as the old one but looks way better and our old one stopped working.
