I had high expectations and looked forward to making this KitchenAid trash compactor part of my new suite of kitchen appliances. Unfortunately, my order was back-ordered and then cancelled by Best Buy as unavailable. The search is on for a retailer who can get their hands on one!

A new KitchenAid trash compactor did not work when it was installed in early Jan 2025. It was replaced and the replacement had the same problem - drawer wouldn't automatically open. A KitchenAid certified technician was scheduled and he had to special order parts in mid Feb. The compactor has still not been repaired.

Great looking with all kitchen Aide Appliances I bought

Very disappointing quality. Screws came out within the first 3 months, after 15 months the front door/panel fell off.

I can tell already I made a great choice at BEST BUY with my new 3rd garbage compactor, last two GE,Only lasted less than 2 years each. Better warranty,better looking.

Have had this for years. Just replaced old (30yrs) .

Had been looking for years and finally purchased a display model. Best purchase I've made in a while.

Don't buy it. It came not closing right. We had to lift it to close right. It was rough from the beginning. Within 2 weeks it started making weird noises and then just stopped working. The repairman came out and said it needs new rails, new bin, they are bent, new motor, it is burnt out and new wiring harness. Oh and they are on back orderer hopefully in a month we will get the parts. When they come in (sent to my home) I have to call and make an appointment to come out and rebuild it. I have had it 2 months. Terrible product and even worse considering how much it cost! Don't buy it.

We bought this product at the end of September and it did not work. The foot pedal did not release the trash door and the compactor "sometimes: work. I called Kitchenaid the day it was delivered for a fix. They sent out a technician ..3 weeks later and he couldn't fix the problem. I called Kitchenaid again and they resent a technician. Again no fix but was going to order a new part. The scheduled repair, another 3 weeks later was also cancelled since the repairer haven't received the part. So I'm now 9 weeks past installation and the unit is still useless.

Excellent. We’ll made. I’ll buy again. Let one lasted 15 years

Have always enjoyed a trash masher and would not live without one

This compactor is great and it works very well compressing far better than our last compactor.

Had a Kenmore before for 25 years. Kitchenaid is very expensive. I don't know. It just seems more flimsy than the Kenmore. It doesn't compact as much and the activator (footpad) is VERY flimsy like it would break easily. Doesn't feel like the price of it. Don't know if Whirlpool is any better as none of the stores have any inventory.
