So far... so “great.” Concern about shelf depth and items falling off back shelf have been addressed and are no longer a problem. It is a beautiful machine, and, again, so far, meeting our needs. There is a good amount of space. I love the double doors, the soothing attractive color, the door and interior features and that it addresses moisture issues, etc.
I have spent time ordering/placing items and using plastic bins for doubling storage space. I am getting used to the bending required for lower freezers. I have also used plastic bins to separate various items. It’s only a few weeks old, but rating a 10/10 with both my husband and myself.

I love this fridge! This is now the third time I have chosen this beautiful appliance. We have moved three times in the past 10 years necessities the purchase of new appliances. This refrigerator is not only a workhorse, it is also gorgeous inside with its grey interior with wood tone accents. I love all of its cosmetic features as well…the cheese drawer, the marinating pan that can do directly into the oven and handy container for keeping herbs fresh. For me, the esthetic of being counter depth is essential, smoothly aligning with my cabinetry. The quietness of the motor and the speed of ice making are also greatly appreciated.

Do not purchase this Refrigerator!!

Bought this in 2019. First thing was the stainless steel started rusting, even though I clean the front with Weimers cleaner.
Then, the ice machine broke in 2022. Water dripped down the front and the ice box didn't get cold enough to keep the cubes hard. Geek squad came out 3 times, replaced everything, Didn't fix the problem. Now the cubes come down into the box, but they don't stay cold enough, so they partially melt together. We have to use an ice pick to break up the cubes and scoop them out by hand.
Then two weeks ago (2024) the fridge stopped working. First repair person said it was the compressor that would cost $1,000 and the labor $1,500. Second repair person said it was the electrical - $750 which we paid and then said it was the compressor, another $800. We have been without a fridge for 2 weeks. We lost probably $300 in food that was in the fridge and we have had to go out to eat for 2 weeks ($200). The compressor will be installed next week. But that does not guarantee that the ice maker will be working!
We also bought a KitchenAide over the stove microwave and the light went out after a year. Had to replace the whole electrical panel. Fortunately that was still under warranty.
I will not purchase another Kitchen Aide Fridge or appliance. All the service people say their compressors have a terrible track record and their ice machines even worse. No thanks - don't buy one.

A good looking, elegant cabinet depth refrigerator

We replaced an LG refrigerator that was working well for us, till it suddenly died, because the compressor went bad. This was less than a 10 year old refrigerator and had a compressor changed earlier. When a tech came out to diagnose, they told us not to get an LG or a Fridigaire. So, our choices were limited. We were going to look at Bosch, but the quality of the Kitchen was best amongst all the refrigerators we say. This is a cabinet depth refrigerator, so you have to realize that you will not have as much space as a regular refrigerator. But, the way this refrigerator is designed, everything is easily visible and accessible. There are so many shelves in the refrigerator and it has a certain elegance to it. Both inside and outside. There are definitely cheaper options available but not with quite the same build quality and elegance. We hope this also translates to better components in the interior and that this refrigerator will last.

I fell in love with the looks of this fridge. So much so I adjusted the cabinet I had on top to account for the height difference from my old fridge. Looks awesome, love the tray and have used it a lot...great to go from fridge to oven...even used it for other baking. I am still getting used to the smaller ice compartment although I've never had issues with it. Also, I've noticed when I store pizza's in the front freezer compartment they seem to get a little more ice coating on them when I open them? The middle width size drawer is awesome and keeps my drinks COLD! My veggies seem to keep longer and the smell is fresh. Also love the adjustable shelf where I can push it back for taller items when needed. Anyone that's seen it raves about it (without coaching)

After more than a year decided whether or not to "take the plunge" with this one, totally glad we did. This fridge looks as great as you'd think it would. Simple and clean design on the exterior, with a beautiful, sleek, modern interior. Great to finally have water and ice in the door. Highly functional, especially the "half shelf" that allows taller items. Only a few "could be betters:" when it runs, it's louder than the 15-year-old KitchenAid it replaced; still getting used to the French Door and wish that one could open the right side door and pull out the right side produce drawer (unfortunately, the middle seal blocks it); finally, I wish the left-hand door closed automatically, but likely can't because one of the doors has to force the center seal to close.

As an interior designer looks are very important to me. I read the reviews and failed to listen to them. Thinking maybe I will be lucky and will not get a bad fridge as I read in the reviews. Unfortunately my luck was not with me. I have owned this fridge since September 9th 2019 and I am now going to be on my second service call. My first experience was my food going bad as a refrigerator would not cool. They had to send out a tech which came and checked out the fridge. He determined he had to order a part as the original part froze up and would not do the job properly. So I had to wait several days for the new part to come in. Keep in mind I had no food as all my food went bad. Here I am less than a month later in my refrigerator is once again not keeping the proper temperature.
Please trust me and do not buy this fridge. Do not be a sucker like me because it looks amazing. The actual mechanics and design of this product is very poor. There has to be a reason why there are so many one stars.

Great interior lighting. Very beautiful inside and out. Water and ice dispensers are logistically situated…and work very well. Water and ice cannot be confused (unlike other brands). My favorite refrigerator of all time!

**Stylish and Efficient - Perfect for a Modern Kitchen**
I recently upgraded to the KitchenAid 23.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Counter-Depth Refrigerator, and it has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. This refrigerator combines style, space, and functionality, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to enhance their kitchen.
**Sleek and Elegant Design:** The stainless steel finish is stunning and gives my kitchen a modern, upscale look. The counter-depth design fits flush with my cabinetry, creating a seamless and integrated appearance. It’s a real showstopper that gets compliments from everyone who visits.
**Spacious and Well-Organized:** The 23.8 cu. ft. capacity is impressive, especially for a counter-depth model. The interior is thoughtfully designed, with adjustable shelves, deep door bins, and a full-width pantry drawer that makes organizing food a breeze. The French doors open wide, allowing easy access to everything inside.
**Efficient Cooling and Freshness:** The Preserva Food Care System really stands out. It keeps my produce fresh for longer, and the separate cooling zones ensure that food is stored at the optimal temperature. The freezer section is also well-organized, with ample space for all my frozen goods.
**Quiet and Energy-Efficient:** This refrigerator runs quietly, which is a big plus for an open-concept living space. It’s also energy-efficient, which has made a noticeable difference in my electricity bills.
**Convenient Features:** The interior water dispenser is discreet yet convenient, providing filtered water without taking up too much space. The ice maker is efficient and produces a good amount of ice without being noisy.
**Easy Maintenance:** The fingerprint-resistant finish keeps the refrigerator looking clean and shiny with minimal effort. The shelves are easy to wipe down, and the stainless steel exterior holds up well to daily use.
Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the KitchenAid 23.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Counter-Depth Refrigerator. It combines beauty, efficiency, and practicality, making it a perfect fit for my kitchen. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a high-quality, stylish refrigerator!

This has a nice layout, as I can get a lot into it. The stay fresh features really do help keep your refrigerator odor free and make your food stay fresh longer, BUT it makes a loud, high- pitched whining noise ALL THE TIME. The ice maker keeps very little ice. The left door makes a loud slamming noise unless you make a conscientious effort to close it very slowly.

I recently purchased from Best Buy a most attractive stainless steel Kitchenaid refrigerator to replace my GE Profile model. I am very pleased with the roominess, quality construction, and special features of both the top section with French doors and the freezer drawer of this model. The s/s finish really doesn’t show fingerprints. Excellent choice for my kitchen.

There is no way to remove the glass to clean any spills you might have. It looks filthy all of the time. The freezer soft close doesn’t work and the wording for the water dispenser has faded after a year. When we have guest they are always confused on which one is water and which is ice.
This was a beautiful fridge but it makes me so sad to see that you’re unable to keep it clean.
I’ve looked online and do not see away to lift the glass. If this is possible, please let me know kitchenaidt.

Fridge is good quality. The middle shelf with the sliding shelf is built incorrectly. It creates a tray versus a smooth shelf. Poor engineering in that aspect. It is a somewhat noisy fridge. A constant low roar I would call it from some fan. It’s more noticeable at night when the house calms down. Definitely some disappointment after paying the price. I

This is a gorgeous refrigerator. I modified the cabinets to allow the extra height and it was worth it. The inside it so very well lit, nothing can hide. It replaced a 10-year-old Samsung counter depth fridge that was leaking water. The printshield works well, very easy to clean. The cut handles are great non-slip solution and look fantastic. The layout of the usable space in both the freezer and the fridge is thoughtful. Here's where the one star comes in, the ice maker has never worked. Installed May of 2021, it has never produced ice. Called Best Buy out, I paid for professional installation, they re-leveled the fridge. Still nothing. Called KitchenAid, they sent a technician out. He did some tweaking, said to call him in 24 hours to see if it made ice, nothing. He came back out got KitchenAid on the phone, had to order parts. They said expect to wait 2-3 months for parts. $4000 fridge, no ice. I am fearful the parts aren't going to solve the problem and it will be another 2-3 months... Sadly the 10-year-old Samsung still produced ice even the day I unplugged it.

Overall quality is good. It is very nice but not as great looking as the 5-door model or GE Cafe.
Exterior is handsome but does lack the wow-look I have seen on some of the higher end LG models. I think the GE Cafe is better looking but it is pricier.
Ice maker bucket holds a small amount of ice--the smallest I have ever seen on a refrigerator.
Interior lifhting is nice looking with LED lights and wood trim.
Freezer drawer is little more than a bucket, but insode there is a pullout shelf and the interior of the front drawer holds a few pizzas vertically.
My preference would be for the 5-drawer model for organization.

Very pretty inside. Has a great amount of refrigerator space for a counter depth size. The freezer space is OK, and I prefer the drawers offered on other Kitchenaid models. I have an alternate refrigerator/freezer, so it works for me. It also makes a low humming noise. I replaced the previous one delivered due to a loud humming noise. This one still makes the noise, but is much more quiet.

I've had the new refrigerator for abut 3 weeks now. Not only am I pleased but my lady is blown away, which makes my life a lot easier. It has everything you want from a daily appliance; looks, predictability, and dependability. From walking in to the Best Buy Outlet in the City of Bellflower to me sitting in my kitchen staring at my beautiful fridge, with a cup of Joe, its's been a great experience.

This is an amazing fridge. If you read through the reviews you’ll find everything from what a piece of garbage this fridge is to how great it is. Let’s start first with design. Kitchenaid lives up to its premium quality with this one — the wood accents on the inside are pretty and the LED lighting makes it even better. The produce drawer comes with a refresher bag which we’ve found to be helpful. Shelving is all glass and adjustable. For counter depth, I’m impressed with the storage capacity. The door storage is also helpful and it’s nice having the ice maker right at the top. With regard to the icemaker, note that it does take about a day to produce the first ice as the sticker says, but then it produces it very quickly. The small cubes are helpful and the crush function is consistent. The freezer space is also nice with some ingenious use of space with a pizza holder and some unique shelving. The unit is quiet and the ambient light sensor at night provides just enough LED light for a great nightlight. If you want a premium fridge with a beautiful look, this is the one. Our friends came over for a party the first day we had it and noticed immediately how “sexy” this unit is. Lol.

Beautiful and functional. My only complaint is that you have to open both doors to access the interior drawers. I had a previous version of this refrigerator and each drawer was lined up so you didn’t have to open both doors. Very minor. Shelves are adjustable, the wood interior is beautiful. Spacious and high quality. Love it!
