To be fair, the comments about the beauty of the fridge and the functionality for a counter depth size are spot on. This may be the best looking refrigerator I have seen. That being said it is complete trash. After 60 days the fridge began making an extremely loud buzzing noise. Some have called the fridge noisy, but I actually found it very quite before it started to sound like a weed eater. It is NOT a normal sound for any refrigerator. It is so loud you dread the thought of opening it and even with doors closed we hated to be in the same room which is problematic for an open floor plan. We returned it, BestBuy was understanding and suggested it was likely a lemon and this model was the best KitchenAid had to offer. So we agree to try a replacement, new one came and it would not get cold nor make ice after days. We threw away a lot food. With all the other negative reviews about the refrigerator failing outside of warranty and lengthily repair times it was not a risk I was willing to take. So we gave up and returned it for another Brand. Our geek squad delivery guy also said he has picked up so many of this model as a return for the same reasons. A real shame because if this unit simply performed the most basic functions of a refrigerator well, this would be as good as it gets.

This fridge is so awful. I've had it for less than 2 years and it keeps breaking. It will start freezing up deep inside and then the fan hitting the ice starts making a rattling sound and I know the whole thing will stop working within weeks. They've already replaced so many parts, including the mother board. It feels like it's just a poorly engineered fridge. Now that I'm past the first year, Best Buy has washed their hands of it, and Kitchenaid is barely helpful still charging me for service calls despite the warranty on parts. I regret buying this fridge.

This refrigerator was very esthetically pleasing, and Smee wanted a counter depth. So win win, until we got it and very quickly realized that it makes ridiculous amounts of noise. At first we thought that it is working overtime, making ice and all that. We are two months in now and the noise and constant vibrations coming from it are starting to drive me crazy. It literally sounds like a running car outside your window. The muffled buzzing non-stop. We tried to get noise reducing mat, but I am afraid it made it worse. It really starts to work overtime.

Beautiful refrigerator- both inside and out! The wood serving shelf and LED lighting make this the most elegant and dramatic fridge I’ve ever seen. Lots of storage options and flexibility for different types of food packages. Ice maker is fast and efficient. My only complaint is the price.

This is an excellent refrigerator. It's our first counter depth so we are still getting used to the placement of items but overall it looks terrific in our new kitchen, makes artisanal style ice that lasts a long time and overall we are enjoying it. The one drawback is that it seems to run a lot. We have contracted KitchenAid service and they are sending someone out to check it.

Nice looking. Quality material. Love the color. Water dispenser and ice in door is very convenient. This was for my brother who prefers counter depth. So it works perfectly for his needs.

Still getting used to the new design, but I'm loving it! There's room for everything and nothing gets lost as so often happens in other fridges. Produce seems to last a lot longer compared to my old fridge, I love the size and shape of the ice cubes too!

Beautiful fridge, cool lights on the inside, with cool wood trim also. It costs around $5k with tax though... not sure why I have this or why anyone would "need" it. Strangely has issues fitting in more than a few tall bottles on the inner door panel due to many shelves the unit comes with. Overall, this is a $5,000 cold box so make of that as you wish.

We purchased this over a month ago as an open box item. I’m so happy with my purchase. It’s sleek and I can see everything. It just fits fridge organizers without an inch to spare. It will not fit a large pizza box, but a 9x13 casserole dish does fit. So many nice features and a beautiful interior.

I love everything about this fridge. The inside is beautiful. Lighting in the fridge is very good. I would say if you have a family of 2-3 kids u might need to purchase a 2nd freezer. Can't talk about the water & ice dispenser because we have well water so we chose not to hook it up.

    KitchenAid Stainless Steel RUSTS

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is not a reflection on Best Buy, only KitchenAid. We have used their products for years and had been very happy. For a new home we built we again chose KitchenAid products for the kitchen and bar areas. Their stainless steel is such poor quality that you will almost immediately see the surface start to breakdown and rust. It has happened particularly badly on the dishwasher and refrigerators. We have had the fronts replaced and it happened again, only now the short initial warranty period has passed. So we will have to live with rust spots on them. They are using something that they call "stainless steel" but it certainly is not.

Thank you for your review Hiker. Chromium in stainless helps form an invisible layer on the surface that prevents moisture from reaching the iron, in stainless steel. If this layer is breached or degraded to the point where moisture reaches the underlying steel, rust will occur. We recomend using stainless steel cleaner and ensuring your refrigerator and dishwasher are not being scratched on the surface. This will cause your appliances to rust. KitchenAidBrand

We are in love with this fridge. We recently moved into a new home and it had a small older fridge in it but we were needing something larger and more functional. This was perfect. It looks fantastic and is large enough to fit everything we need plus more. The installation was fast and easy.

Fridge has been outstanding so far. I was skeptical as I had heard of issues with the in-door ice maker melting and causing the small access door to build up with ice. However, I’m happy to report I’ve had 0 issues with it since it was delivered exactly a month ago. Obviously still early, so issues could still come. Although I’d consider this fridge “over the top”, if you have the extra cash, I would highly recommend the fridge if you’re looking for something that checks the box for quality, exterior looks, interior looks, great ice, and an incredible built in water filter (removes taste from water).

We bought this as part of our set, really like it. The water dispenser was acting up; we replaced the filter and it has improved somewhat. The manager at Best Buy has been wonderful to work with, sent a Geek Squad tech out to check it out. Also told us that they would replace it with a different unit if we wanted. Other than that, we love the space and the space-saving features.
