Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the 24" Built-In Dishwasher with Stainless Steel Tub's quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance, with many praising how clean their dishes come out. However, some customers noted that the wash cycles are longer than expected and expressed concerns about the sturdiness of the racks. The dishwasher's design and ease of use also received positive feedback. Overall, the positive aspects of cleaning and quietness seem to outweigh the concerns about cycle time and rack durability for most users.

Very happy with my KitchenAid dish washer. It's very quiet. Love to be able to use the 4 hr. delay start, which runs when utility rates are lower.

We have multiple issues with heating coil, pump and now circuit failure. Considering our previous KitchenAid lasted over a decade, this model has consistently proven unreliable.

Nice dishwasher. Spacious, lots of room for utensils. The only thing is the heat vent is on the side and vents off right onto my wood cabinets.

Dishwasher is Outstanding. Don't even know it's on unless you look for the light. Makes dishes squeaky clean. Couldn't be happier.

I've been able to quit scrubbing my dishes before putting them in this dishwasher. My previous machine was only good for sanitizing the food that it left on the dishes, while this one is able to clean even stuck-on, dried oatmeal. With all that cleaning power, I would've thought it would be at least as noisy as its predecessor. Not even! This machine is so quiet I can't even hear it running. What a trade; I got a dishwasher that actually works and only had to give up all the noise.

I did a lot of research before I purchased this dishwasher and am not disappointed. The black has just enough silver trim to make it look classy. It is very quiet and cleans well and dishes come out dry. I was skeptical of the ProWash setting at first, but now I use that setting every time. Rarely some of the silverware won't be clean, but probably because I've blocked the silverware rack with something. I'm still trying to figure out how to load the dishwasher. Some of the rows can be adjusted, but it's not easy to figure out how and there is no manual to show how to do it. The silverware rack is hard to see into because it's down the side and a dark gray. But it can be removed for unloading, so not really that much of a problem. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase.

    Love, Love, love this dishwasher

Previously I had purchased one of the waterwall dishwashers and it was awful! This dishwasher with the adjustable top rack, tall tines on the top and bottom racks keep dishes, cups and glasses in place. The bottom tines are spaced wide enough to fit crockery type dishes without them being too closely spaced. I haven't used the pro scrub option yet because it works very well without using it. I opted for the black not stainless as the black is easier to keep clean. The venting on the side of the dishwasher keep moisture from warping the underside of the countertops. The buttons on the outside prevent accidentally starting the dishwasher. The door is sturdy and heavy. The heated dry is a very nice option. Overall I am extremely pleased with this purchase.

    Avoid - this is junk

Last KitchenAid lasted 15 years. This is a very similar model, but build quality is horrible. Plastic parts breaking after 2 weeks, and a terrible smell from day one. Seems that odors stay in the drain lines or filter. The lower rack continually falls off the door track because of small, cheap plastic wheels. The rotating sprat arm its the interior parts and wash time increased to 1.5 hours. Dishes simply are not clean. Look inside and the internals are cheap plastic. There is a nylon string for the door counterbalance -- how long will that last? One month and the repairman was called - but no show. Kitchenaid support stumbled around with excuses. My confidence in Kitchenaid completely gone. The only positive - it is very quiet. Look elewhere - this benchmark brand is not worth your time or the $800.

    Extremely touchy and unreliable

The front door does not shut if the soap dish is open, this is acceptable? We've had to level the dishwasher multiple times, if it is off by 1/8" the front door keep will pop open. It will run for a few weeks then the door will start popping open again. Why? If it is working for 2 weeks, what drastic thing could have we done to mess it up. We 'fix' it by leveling it and wait for the next time it will fail. Each time the door pops open there is a large amount of steam coming out the top. This steam has destroyed the underside of our countertop. It cleans the dishes ok but definitely not worth the money. With the lack of any mechanical latch, the door WILL be an issue no matter what. I would love to exchange it for anything else.
