    Okay Fridge with Icemaker Problems

    There’s not that many good options when it comes to these 48” fridges. All seem to have their issues despite the hefty price tag. I’ll start with the positives: It looks great, both inside and out. Note, they make different finishes of this that both are stainless steel. One, is regular stainless steel (which is the one we bought) and there’s also the fingerprint-resistant version. All that is is a plastic film over the stainless and I didn’t want that. Not to mention, they charge more for it. Knock on wood, the fridge and freezer have been good thus far and we’ve had it 3-4 months. Now for the bad: The ice maker is crap. Other reviews of this that even I came across when I was doing my research reference the ice maker issue. Well, ours is no different. It has been replaced 3 times thus far. Clearly, it’s some sort of design issue. Two of them were leaking water inside the freezer so in addition to making the ice, it also froze the water that was en route to the ice maker causing buildup in the freezer and shelves. Basically, it would leak the water for the ice maker inside the freezer. We did end up buying the extended 5 year warranty because of the large investment but if I have to replace a $13,000 fridge in 5 years - God help me. There was also a piece of stainless steel that was dented that they had to reorder and reinstall on the top. The other doozie I’ll mention is the delivery. We paid about $500 to have this delivered and installed and that turned into a fiasco. Their delivery company was “nice?” but these things weigh 700lbs and so it takes 4 guys to haul it in the house. Despite them coming out the day before to ensure the thing fits in the door, they can haul it in, etc., and making arrangements to show up the next day to deliver and install, they call me at night telling me they can only drop it off because they don’t have the necessary number of people to lift it in the house. This after I waited all day for them. Long story short, I was going back and forth with the ‘kid’ who of course had the Gen Z mentality that he was holier than thou/that I shouldn’t be “rude to him or or his team or else I’m not gonna come at all.” I’m like, uhhh you’re not doing me any favors here kid; I paid $500 for you all to do this; your own people were here yesterday and made arrangements to deliver the thing. I didn’t wait around all day so you can call me at night of delivery to tell me, “Oh we can install it next week. It’s just gonna have to sit in your garage.” And that attitude - holy smokes - it’s as if he was doing me a huge favor! I was gagged! At this point, I was fed up and let my husband take over dealing with him. Eventually, they made some phone calls and got someone else to come that night and install it. Really crappy experience. Oh, and they damaged my entry door. All in all, I’m not sure I’d recommend this one.

    My New Kitchen Aid Refrigerator

    I absolutely love my new Kitchen Aid Refrigerator. The water and ice dispenser are such a great convenience. My old Viking did not have this amenity. The compartments are very helpful and I love the charcuterie tray - what a fabulous idea!

    Best Buy delivery canceled 7 times on me. When it was finally delivered over a month later the freezer broke 1 day after delivery. They are now saying i have to wait another month for a replacement. Absolutely horrible experience with Best Buy and this refrigerator. I would avoid buying any large purchases from them especially refrigerators!

    Product is fine as expected. Installation was outstanding. Very professional. Delivery date kept getting extended which was very frustrating. Originally scheduled for a three week delivery but took two months.

    I bought this since my old KitchenAid refig stopped working. The local authorized repair shop Appliance Hospital sent a technician, after a $3500 bill and several replacement parts, the old refig still refused to work. So I turned to Best Buy for replacement with a newer version. I don’t have complaint about the salespeople from Best Buy. However, the new KitchenAid refrigerator did not work upon installation. No water or ice came out, the cooling system was a failure too. Best Buy sent Geek Squad to check the refrig and confirmed it defective and not repairable. Right now this huge KitchenAid steel monster just set in the countertop doing nothing but sucking the electricity and making strange noises. Sales informed me that all the 48” refrigerators are back ordered. So I have to wait for a replacement maybe available next year! I don’t recommend this product or any KitchenAid electronic kitchen appliances! I had another dead KitchenAid appliance, an expensive food processor, from Best Buy two years ago.

    Overall, very happy with the refrigerator. Great space, lighting and performance. Only negative is the ice maker output. It took about 3 days to fill up after a few days worth of ice was discarded because of the new built in water filter.

    Excellent team from best geek squad to install KitchenAid to satisfaction. Fridge is working very well and has enough space for most of our eatables and drinkables .. your sales person was excellent. We appreciate all the help from best.

    Very good built in, replacing an 18 year old kitchen aid. Looks great and has many functional improvements. Very quiet and super roomy for it’s outside dimensions.

    Defective product from the beginning. Cooling on the fresh food section never worked. It took Whirlpool three weeks to get a tech to come and look to tell us that this product had major defects. Kudos to Total Tech and Best Buy to switch out this defective product which is happening one month after the original installation

    seems to have a lot of moisture in freezer, creates water droplets and fog which the freezes. Very annoying.
