    It does make a great cup of coffee, but it's not for every day use. It's just much of a hassle to clean after...and it will *never* be as sparkling beautiful as that first time you set it up. It's unfortunate the carafe cannot go in the dishwasher, but it is what it is...you know it has electronics in it. In addition to having to be careful to not the base wet when you wash it, you can't fit your hand inside it either (it does come with a special brush at least). I tend it to use it on lazy Sunday mornings, or when I have houseguests (it's actually to fun watch the process).

    It makes great tasting coffee. It is a little bit of a hassle setting up and cleaning up, but totally worth it. One drawback is it only makes 8 cups. Let's not discount the cool factor of watching it work.

    I've had this for about 2 years now and it's been great. The only issue I have with it now is the handle to the top part is breaking apart. Other than that it's been awesome.

    My girlfriend and I love this coffee maker. Besides making terrific coffee, we're glued to the coffee maker as it goes through its positive pressure and vacuum phases. It also makes great tea!!
