I am from Italy, and I am working for a while in the US, so, I always wanted one of these mixers (Euro/Dollar change rate helped me a lot :) ) then it's the first thing I wanted in my kitchen. Best Buy had one of the best prices around, so... Let me say that when you open the box, the item is very very pleasant to see...well refined, all the things have glossy painting, very nice. But it has to work, as well, so I tried to do the thing I miss more here in the US: the bread (sorry guys, but we are used to another kind of bread, no offense :) ) I decided to try with a small amount, just to test the machine...well let me say that it's not the way this item is designed to work: the mix sticked to the hook, and it almost stop mixing, it just turn with the hook, so I had to stop the machine, tear it away, start again. A couple of times the mix divided in two parts, one staying in the bottom of the bowl, and, again, had to stop and put the mix togheter. Not that good, in my opinion. But keep in mind that this happened to me just for small quantities. When I tried to use it for some more bread, almost the full capacity (something like 4 cups of flour) the thing works great, the mix is perfect. A thing I didn't like is the speed: two seems to be too fast for bread making, one is somewhat too slow, you have to adjust it, because with two the mix tends to come up on the hook. But this may be just a question of adjusting my habits of using the machine. Anyway, I did mayonnase, whipped cream, beated whites, mix for pancakes and crepes, and bread and donughts and so on...just keep in mind that I had problems managing small quantities. Another thing I cannot understand is: if they sell a tool to make ice cream, why don't they sell a slow cooker? It would be nice to make soups, vegetables cream, rice, and a lot of other nice things, that is a great hole, it should be the first thing, with such a bowl. In Italy I have the worverk cooking machine which work this way and it is wonderful, it helps me a lot (and saves me a lot of times). In conclusion, if you bake, basically, and you make mixes (well, is a mixer, you are right) in the right amount, well, it's the right item: it does what is intended for, and nothing else. If you are alone, and you don't use it so often, or if you want something more versatile, well, you should try something else.

this mixer is awesome you just add the ingriedients and turn it on and it does the rest. Its pretty powerful I have yet to need the higher speeds. It's also really pretty and has a ton of attachments available. My only complaint is that it's harder than my old mixer to scrape the sides and to add ingriedients but the splash guard with the spout helps with that, it's just a little different than I'm used to.

I love my stand mixer. I got it for Christmas after my other mixer finally gave up the ghost. I use it every week to make bread. But I also use it to make just about anything else I want. I have several attachments: 1) grain mill; 2) Food grinder & strainer; and 3) rotor slicer/shredder. I use all of the attachments on a regular basis. The food grinder & strainer is perfect when I want to make my family homemade spaghetti sauce using the tomatoes and herbs from our garden or my popular (at least with my family) homemade tomato soup. The grain mill is perfect to grind the grains for the flour I use in my bread, cookies, and pastries. And the slicer/shredder cuts up the vegetables I use in salads, stews, etc., as well as shredding the cheese we eat so much of. Everything is easy to clean. This mixer is one of the few appliances I'm willing to even have in my kitchen--I have no microwave or dishwasher or blender, but the mixer has a place of honor. There are a couple of problems with it: 1) I dislike anything (except canisters and cookie jar) on the counter. I don't even own a drain rack for my dishes, but rather use old towels that can then be tossed into the washer. But, the mixer is too heavy to put away and pull back out again. I'm thinking that making it lighter would not be a good idea as I think the bulk and weight add to it's stability and efficiency, but if it's possible, a lighter mixer would be nice; and 2) It's a little noisy. It's not something you use in the quiet of the night or if you want some peace and quiet at anytime of the day. Despite the two drawbacks I mentioned above, I love it and wouldn't trade it for any other brand or mixer, unless of course Kitchen Aid can come out with one as sturdy and efficient as this one and yet be lighter and quieter.

I purchased this mixer a few weeks ago and I have been in love ever since. It is extremely easy to use and all the attachments really make this mixer. Has the ability to do just about everything, all while making everyday life so much easier. Cookies are a breeze, cakes are a piece of cake and frosting is so simple. I would highly recommend to anyone and this is a fantastic gift idea as well. Happy cooking!

We've had our kitchen aid stand mixer for 4 years now and I will say it is by far one of the best home appliances we have. We have used it for making breads, desserts, pasta, sausage and more. It is something you will never regret purchasing!

stopped working with two years of use, I'm in Brazil and not how can I fix it ... Very sad ... Too bad I can't use it again.....

Love the color and classic look of the mixer. The ease of operation is a plus too!

KitchenAid mixers are the gold standard for home use. We had one for 20 years. It was larger and significantly heavier in part because of the larger, heavy glass mixing bowl so we decided to get this one which is more than adequate. We separately purchased a "flex edge beater" (Amazon in our case - about $20). It's great for mixing dough because it scrapes right off the surface of the metal mixing bowl. If you do that, be sure to order the one for this mixer with the tilt head. Very glad we bought this. Highly recommend it.

Just picture it... it's time to bake the holiday goodies and as I put my hand mixer in the dough for the first batch of cookies, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuurt! *poof!* My good ol' hand mixer dies! I paniced for a split second and then remembered that I have Best Buy just down the street from me so I grab my boyfriend and away we go. Initially I thought I would just pick up another hand mixer, but when I saw the Kitchen Aide stand mixers I told myself that I was going to upgrade this year, especially since we were not going to do gifts this year, I was going to bake and make goodies and cookies for friends and family. So long story short we got the mixer for $284 #after some instant rebate at the store!#, brought it home and I was smitten! I sailed through my bakeing in record time and this mixer was the BEST purchase I had made for my kitchen in a long time!

Great device, all attachments worked perfectly, no issues switching them out, and easy to clean.

I don't know why I waited so long to get myself a stand mixer. Kitchenaid has been the standard for this type of appliance and I can see why. From the moment I started using it, I have a whole new attitiude about baking. This makes everything so much easier to put together. The quality of my baked goods has really improved. My hubby asks me "what are you going to make this week?", and to be honest, I look forward to using it. The color is interesting because it has a bit of a sparkle, and looks fabulous on my kitchen counter. I know I will have this mixer for many years to come. Hooray for me!

Ordered on line and wrong mixer delivered. The replacement mixer blew circuit breaker when turned on. The 3rd mixer has worked so far. Spent much time on the phone and 3 trips to the nearest Best Buy store to resolve the issues to date. No link to sent this review!

Love it...I waited a long time for one of these and with the Best buy price and coupon deal I got it for a great price. Not to mention the rebate offered by Kitchenaid!! This is so much quieter than I ever imagined. I burned out so many hand mixers in the last 2 years with all that I do. This is perfect for cookies, cakes , buttercreams almost anything. I make Pizza dough in it almost every week, so fast. Love it!! I know they are pricey but if you can keep saving your pennies it will be worth it. I waited 15 yrs till I was able to. By then they had so many colors to choose from. :o)

My husband bought this mixer for me and I love it. It is Ink Blue and very attractive on the kitchen counter. It has a large capacity, easy to use and makes the job of making muffins a delight. Can't wait to use it to make my biscotti. I did purchase a pad on which it sits and makes moving the mixer from storage under the cabinets to a workable location on the counter top very easy, no lifting. This is a great product.

I am so disappointed that out of the blue it stopped working and won’t turn back on.

It says that my order has been delivered yesterday. Where? Was I supposed to sign for it? Did they drop it at the door? If they did, :( :( Please help

I’ve dreamed of getting a KitchenAid mixer for so long, and the sale on this was so great, we couldn’t resist after our hand mixer died! Haven’t done any baking with it yet, but I did test it out on some mashed potatoes tonight using both the paddle and whip attachments, and it worked great. My old hand mixer would have struggled with potatoes and this thing just tore through them no problem. It’s so solid and sturdy! The 5 qt bowl is as big as I’ll ever need. Super easy to use. Can’t wait to make some goodies with it for the holidays! The Crystal Blue color happened to be the one on sale, so we got it despite it not looking all that nice in the pictures. But actually in person, it’s gorgeous! Such a beautiful addition to my kitchen. One other note- if you plan to keep this on the counter and have lower cabinets, you may want to measure just to make sure it will fit. It just barely fits under mine. It’s a heavy beast and I don’t think I’d use it as often if I had to lug it out from a lower cabinet.

This machine was the best christmas gift I could ever receive. It makes life so much easier and I feel like an expert baket. I cant wait to see what masterpieces I can create with this!!
