A dumb thought

In addition maybe try adding in an “L” shaped baffle within the enclosure right behind the woofers to make the enclosure appear larger to the bass waves. Hopefully the tactrax port can still be used with these wacky modifications.

Blown away by these

What a difference JUST SPEAKERS can make in your setup. I had an aging Onkyo 7.1 setup, replaced with an entire Kipsch set including subs. These towers offer everything, for the price point, it's perfect for a theater enthusiast on their journey. Got them on a black friday deal, but they are worth it regardless.
