Very very loud and great for hard of hearing family!

I'm really confused about the reviews here because I tried this center speaker for the last 2 1/2 weeks using multiple settings including Audyssey, YPAO as well as other settings. I connected it to my Yamaha A860, Denon 3700 & Denon 6700 and heard no difference at all. It was very hard to listen to after a couple of seconds. The tweeter sounded HORRIBLE! VERY HARSH! Worst part was I purchased four R-51M bookshelf speakers (I know they're not known for being the best) to compare the tweeters to the 504C tweeter and I noticed they sounded almost identical which leads me to believe that this might be a preference for some. Just a little surprised that the tweeter of the 504C sounded very similar to the bookshelf. I thought it would be much better. In all fairness, I own a pair of JBL L7 speakers which are incredible so maybe I'm spolied by their sound as well as the tweeter. But what concerned me was when my wife who knows absolutely nothing about audio and doesn't really care about it said to me "Why does it sound so terrible?" That's when I decided to return it. A real shame as I got this one on sale for $497 ( it actually went down to $417 but went up the following day when I went to purchase it). The speaker itself is absolutely gorgeous and well built so I'm really bummed about having to return it.

Had a Klipsch R25c center and felt like the center was muffling the sound. Talked with a friend and he recommended a new center since the last one had some age. After reading several reviews from varies sites, I settled on the rp504c. First, this center is very large, heavy and well built. The sound is unbelievable. As soon as I turn the sound on, I could hear footsteps in movies I never heard before. I could hear the rubber close in the door jams And the list goes on and on. I tell no lie on the clarity of this center. It’s simply amazing. I almost felt like I was hard of hearing with my last center. This one is worth every penny easily. I also paired this center with a set of RP 600m. Another great set of speakers.
