No matter what your thoughts are regarding this kind of animation, this is, by far, the best kids movie I have seen this year! It especially hit home because my youngest son was having some issues regarding what the story is ultimately about. I don't want to spoil it, but, trust me, it is able to take an important message and tell it in a way that is unconventional, bold, and utterly poignant.

I was pleasantly surprise as to how good this movie was. I thought it was a Japanese company, but it is an American company! the animation process was great! It really captured the emotion of the characters. Theron and Parkinson was absolutely great!! the best thing in this movie was the soundtrack. the blending of the Shamisen with the other instruments as truly something to behold.

The name of his movie almost made me forget about it. I had heard many great things about it however, so I went ahead and purchased it without seeing it first. And I'm so glad I did. These claymation movies keep getting better as they allow us as the audience to see the millions of steps it takes to create just a few minutes of airtime. Wonderful quality work for the whole family

I adore anything that Laika puts out, so I was over the moon about Kubo and the Two Strings. This is stop animation at its finest! I had to pause the movie several times to just ooh and ahhh at the beautiful animation. It's utterly mind blowing to see how clay and other materials can form such beautiful sets and characters. The music is also beautiful too! A definite must see!

By far one of the best films by LAIKA studios. Their stop-animation is amazingly fluid and believable, detail on Japanese culture is quite accurate, and story is awesome. Especially a treat with the behind the scenes bonus content and the $14 price at Best Buy for Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Content was a steal. Definitely worth the addition to the collection.

Easily my favorite Laika movie, the look of this movie and the setting and Asian influences are all very cool. I would say that, like Laila's other works, the script is a little bit weak, but the marvel of the movie makes up for that. Surprisingly dark in subject matter, I definitely recommend this movie for older children. The sound and video quality are decent, but the 3D presentation feels a bit lacking compared to previous Laika releases. The depth is noticeably diminished compared to the theatrical presentation, but still makes for an enjoyable experience.

This is a special, feel good movie!! It tells the story so well, the animation is fantastic!! Another Great movie from the creators of Coraline!! Must have it in 3D!! Thank You Best Buy for stocking it!! Remember, buy Blu-Ray's, don't stream --- Don't trust your favorite movies to someone elses server - it may not be there when you want it!!

I loved this movie, because I haven't seen a stop-motion movie in awhile and I enjoy watching the process on the making of the film. Kubo goes through crazy journey running away from his moms family looking for some magic armor with a baboon and a beetle. The story with Origami is beautiful and I highly recommend this to watch with your family.

I recently purchased a 4K #D television from Best Buy and I wanted to get a movie that my family could enjoy together in 3D! I haven't heard anything about this movie, but figured that it might be an enjoyable film. The story is interesting and fun, the 3D is excellent, and the movie will make a great addition to anyone's collection.

This is probably the best stop motion release to date. Kubo tells an amazing story of family, heroics, and all through stop motion at its finest. I have no doubt that had a been younger (say age 4-12) that this disk would be watched over & over. I highly recommend this for anyone. I watch this film on a 180" home theater screen with projector.

the movie start out very sad about the boy with his mother . The boy have to entertain to make ends meet. The story is interesting but I think it is something similar to monkey king story. I love the ending it is about forgiving. I like the song While my guitar gently weeps by George Harrison. Over all ,it is a must see movies for all ages

After reading reviews, I found that a lot of people who liked Song of the Sea (one of my daughter's and our favorites), really enjoyed this movie. While, I would say that it's worth your money, it's not as good as Song of the Sea. The artwork was on point and was incredibly captivating. However, the dialogue in the movie tried to hard to drive the emotions in. It was often choppy and blocky, and instead of the viewer getting a sense of the emotions of the scene, too often a character would try and spell it out. So, all in all, good but not great.

From the studio that brought you Coraline... comes another masterpiece! I caught this after it was Oscar nominated, bought it instantly, and have watched twice in just a couple weeks. I've also recommended it to people who I thought would enjoy it. Beware, the "PG" rating is pretty spot-on and might be too scary for younger viewers.

movies is about the story of a boy fighting for his life against the evil spirit during medieval time in japan. the story looks like it copy part of the monkey kings from china novels. I loves the music such as while my guitar gently weeps . overall the movies is very entertain for both kids and adults.

Seeing the advertisements for this movie made me curious as to its plot and storyline. What I didn't expect was this beautifully written and told story unfolding on the screen. The animation was breathtaking. The characters were strong and bold. I enjoyed this amazing journey of cinema. More should be brought to life like this one.

I purchased this knowing absolutely nothing about the film, other than that the cover art made it seem to be a film that my kids would enjoy. I never expected that I would likewise be blown away by the profound story, the solid voice acting, the superb animation, but most importantly, a strikingly effective musical score.

Among the numerous titles that require an over abundance of computer generated awesomeness, this is a great combination of the stop motion art form and previously mentioned awesomeness. Really an overall good movie if a bit sappy at the end, but what do expect from a children aimed film. High on my list of recommendations.

This is a great movie. The Story is done very well. The graphics are very unique, and if you like Tim Burton style you'll love this movie. In my opinion this takes it up a notch. Kids were very entertained. Movie looks amazing on Blu-ray and if you have a 4K TV, like our Samsung KS8000 65", you will not be disappointed!

This is not your ordinary Claymation/animated movie. This movie makes you believe in the characters and feel as if you are really in the story. The attention to details in the sets, the sounds, the music, all work together perfectly to bring to life a great adventure. It truly takes you to another place and time.

As I have not actually watched (or even unwrapped) the movie yet, I can only attest to the absolutely STUNNING quality of the box construction and imagery that is printed on it. It makes you feel like you're actually looking at a real life clay model, but you're not, as it's just ink printed on the box - CRAZY GOOD!!!
