I love this movie and the animation is great! Kubo and the 2 Strings is like no other animation - it uses a combination of stop motion and CGI and creates a unique world for Kubo and his friends. Even greater in 3D where the images just pop out of the screen. I have over 100 3D movies, and this is in my top 10 list.

I love stop motion animation, and this is a fantastic example of the genre. The movie mixes stop motion with excellent visual effects to create an animated masterpiece. I watched the 3D version. Very nice depth, though not much in the way of pop outs. Highly recommended, though may be scary for very small children.

A Great Story for Kids who are close to Their Mothers. Shows the Great Lengths and Trials that a Mother's Love will go thru to Protect Their Children!!!! Makes You Miss Your Mother when you are Away from Home!!! Tell them You Love Them every chance you get!!! For you don't know if that would be your last!!!

Very underrated movie. Highly recommended, the visuals are top notch, the claymation is always a welcome break from typical CGI, the story is sweet, and the overall story is refreshing in an age where all movie studios do a typical copy paste without going outside the box and trying something original.

This is a movie that I will enjoy watching again and again. I am really amazed... what a time consuming project stop motion is! But this was not just claymation type, but paper folding too. I was intrigued throughout the whole movie. I would watch an hour-long extra on how it's made. Buy this movie!

The folks at Laika knock it out of the park again. An absolutely stunning movie for both children and adults dealing in grief and memories. Action packed and poignant, Kubo is a masterpiece. Just as a side note: some of the imagery may be scary for younger kids. My 7 year older is daughter loves it.

Kubo is easily the best animated film of the year. Not only is it an absolute technical marvel of stop-motion puppetry, but its story is affecting and original, with particularly fantastic voice work by Charlize Theron as the stoic monkey and Matthew McConaughey as the clueless insectile samurai.

Without watching this in 3D this is a stunning movie...but when you put that 3D disc in your player and slip on the specs...you suddenly realize that this is the way it should be seen. Great voice actors, cool story and stop-motion animation at the top of it's game. Great for kids and grownups!

I can not talk this movie up enough. The animation is unbelievable, and the story line is incredible. A dark story that some young children might find disturbing, but it falls in line with the adventure stories of the 70s and 80s as far as not pulling any punches in the kids adventure films.

If you're a fan of Paranorman and or Coraline which in my humble opinion are both very cool films get ready to love this film just as much. It very sneakily wound up on my Top 10 list of films for all of 2016. Touching and wonderful and yes family appropriate if you're into that sorta thing.

I purchased Tubo to see how clay and wire stop action movies have advanced along side the animation field's advances. I feel that the talent, and craftsmanship, work is way out there. Also, the story line is as much adult, as juvenile, in its delivery. Watch it, you'll like it,,,,,, too.

Although Disney's Zootopia is a solid film in its own right, last month's Oscar for Best Animated Film should have gone to Kubo. Groundbreaking animation, a sweet yet melancholy story, and an enjoyable unconventional finale make this one of the best films of any genre to come out in 2016.

Saw this movie in the theater with my son and loved it and we knew we had to had it on Blu Ray. it is just a beautiful at home as it was on the big screen. Wonderfully made, the attention to details are awesome , the music and story telling are unsurpassed. A true classic for my collection.

purchased this movie to watch with my friends 4 year old son. He loves to play with swords and sometimes he make believes that he is a action hero. Watched over 5 times together over the past 2 weeks and he loves this movie. Definitely recommend this movie for any boys that love action.

Kubo and the Two Strings is a movie that takes its' time in order to establish a world and characters that you want to see succeed. The beautiful visuals matched with the emotional dreamlike story is something to behold. I encourage you to try this movie either through rental or purchase.

My son and I saw this movie in the theater and really enjoyed it. He wanted it as a Christmas gift, but the DVD was very expensive at that time. Recently, though, I was able to get it at a very cheap price, plus had a Best Buy reward certificate which made it even a better deal.

With my sense that 3D Blu-Ray has fallen out of favor, and less, or no new titles will be made available (example - Ready Player One), I was thrilled to find this available on Best Buy. I loved it in 3D at the theater, and loved it again on 3D at home.

I saw this movie on the big screen and I made up my mind that I was going to add this movie to my collection as soon as it is available on DVD.. The art work is very good and I gain a better appreciation after viewing the bonus material on the disc. I like the plot very much.

I won't go into any details about the plot, because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I will say, the quality of the animation/production and the story line are really great in this movie. It was actually sold out the first couple times I looked for it. I highly recommend.

Kubo's only real failure is the title because I suspect it had more to do with many people skipping this in theaters than the quality of the film. The story is unique, the characters intriguing, and the animation manages to seem unique in an era of CGI-animation domination.
