I recently started editing long videos and the raw footage was taking up too much space on my desktop. This product has been helpful for storing footage and backing up completed projects. It has a USBC to USBC cable. Compatible with my MacBook Pro. It would have been amazing if I could connect the LaCie to my iPhone as well, but my iPhone has a lightning port, and the converter I bought does not work for transferring information. All-in-all, great product! I would recommend for anyone, with a compatible device, in need of storage. I purchased the product a month ago.

Works perfect for iMac. Nice capacity and is fast.

So useful to export and store extra video and photo files! Frees up a ton of space on my phone and laptop. Instructions were simple and easy. Plus, it is a cute color. Saved ten dollars buying from Best Buy instead of Apple Store.

From the jump, i was concerned because it took longer than expected to transfer files, but I attributed the slowness to the source machine. Anyway, this thing failed within a few months of use. Maybe it got to hot in the SC Spring weather, maybe i dropped it 1 two many times (i dropped it twice from below waist level), but it has the word "Rugged" as the first name in it's descriptor, so i expected much more.

As a photographer, I would usually store all my edited photos in the external file besides the cloud storage I have. I was exporting a session from this external drive when suddenly it stopped working. It stopped becoming readable by my computer, or any other computer available. For no reason it just stopped working. I didn't drop it (even though website says it resists a 4ft drop) I didn't even move it. Nothing was wrong with the cable or C-Port. I was told by the Geek Squad that something went wrong on the inside of the product and there was nothing they could do to fix it. I then tried reaching LaCie's customer service, and they were really hard to get a hold of. The phone number on their website was busy, their website said we can reach them via live chat between 7pm Sunday till 7pm Friday. I waited and reached out, they asked me for my serial number and asked if I have a backup. That is all they said. No further communication was had. They ghosted me. The website doesn't provide information regarding warranty service. It will tell you if you are under warranty, but not how to make use of it or instructions on how to proceed. Overall, I do not recommend this product at all. It's a $200 paperweight in my office that just serves as a great reminder of all the files it had that are now gone.

I'd always thought this was a great product. I have a 1TB that works well after 5 years. This one however is a different story. I 'd hoped to use it to back up all my storyboards for work. It worked great for 3 months and then suddenly (((POOF!))). All my back ups vanished. Didn't have a warranty with BestBuy but there's a 2 year warranty with LaCie. They "replaced" it - or shall I say refurbished it with ancient components. It doesn't show up on my Macbook Pro at home but it will show up on my older computer at work. Fat lot of good that does!

One of the worst hard drives, had it for about a year and had a problems with files getting lost and then one day after correctly ejecting it I was told it was corrupted.
