This is what we were looking for so this worked out greatly.

Everyone always looks for a solid state drive, but this unit is Rick solid and has significantly more capacity for the price. Speedy and easy to work with.

I am using this to back up multiple MacBooks. Its fast and easy to use. Be sure to buy any adapters you need as it comes with one usbc to usbc adapter.

This is used by most photographers and I'm running into the common issue of my computer randomly ejecting this while I'm editing and especially when I go to export my photos. This will hurt the external long term so still trying to figure out how to get this fixed.

I used to have two LaCie hard drives and they worked great until they didn't. My 5T lost 3T of photographs the other night and I tried running the recovery software and it did not work. Don't waste your time with this, spend more money on a nicer one so you don't lose your stuff. Very upset with this product.

If you’re looking to have a portable means of storing media/etc. for your mobile workspace, a G-Drive like this Lacie 5-TB is the way to go. However, the USB-C connection is unusually fragile and once it’s gone - it’s gone. Which happened to me within a week’s useage. The drive/transfer speed will slow down dramatically and (eventually) loses connection, costing you priceless media backup/storage. Not quite sure what happened qc-wise at Lacie, but do steer clear of these drives (despite Lacie providing a warranty).
