I had been dealing with my daughter's room which happens to be the hottest In the house. We live in Miami. I was thinking about a boost fan for the vent but the wiring and labor kind of scratched that option out. Decided to place this fan close to the ac vent and it had a significant improvement refreshing the room. Worked out pretty good. Great fan.

I got this item and put it high on a wall to push the cool ac coming out the vent, redirecting it to my daughter's bed. Reason is that this room is horribly hot and it's hard to keep it cool. This fan gives her a better sleep overall and the room stays fresh.
