An underappreciated gem of the '90s made by master action filmmaker John McTiernan (Die Hard, Predator) that lovely pokes fun the very action genre McTiernan and Schwarzenegger helped define while legitimately containing exciting and well crafted action scenes. The movie is brilliant and way ahead of its time. We're all about meta films now, but this movie dove into meta post-modernism well before other films were brave enough to do so. I love it. And it looks great in 4K.

I can't sing the praises on this enough. Not only is this one of the best action movies of all time (and best love letters to the genre), they managed to create one of the best steelbooks of all time. Holographic, clean, precise. A wonderful add to the collection. The movie also looks great in it's 4K restoration and I highly recommended fans of old and newcomers who haven't seen this film to give it a watch. Good luck finding this now, as it has become quite rare. If there is a re-issue. Grab it.

Arnold Schwarzenegger poking fun at himself for over 2 hours in a 4K image should be music to our ears. This is film was panned by critics and audiences a like when it was originally released in 1993, on the same day as Jurassic Park no less. Please give this one a second chance if you haven't seen it in a while because it is entertaining when taken as a spoof. Sony Pictures has come through again on the technical side of the disc. Buy with confidence.

Every now and then your hope that "taking a chance on a flick" will pay off. It rarely does, and you're left wondering why you spent so much. Or why they made the film in the first place. But this diamond in the rough from 1993 is so much better than the original critics wrote. I don't know what movie they expected, but this one delivers thrills and a LOT of self-deprecating humor. Ah-nold is terrific - although the bit with Maria Shriver was hard to watch.

I hate to admit this is the first time I’ve ever seen this movie. When it came out 30 plus years ago I just wasn’t impressed. In the first 30 minutes of the movie with the satire and cheesy humor my wife asked “how much did you pay for this movie?” As the movie progressed it does draw you in and you almost look back in time to when it was made. Plan on some satire and nostalgia plenty of lines from other movies with brief camera shots of Hollywood stars. The 4K UHD and audio quality are pretty good. Let’s face it movie technology has advanced tremendously and current 4K UHD is far superior. Old movie transferred to 4K UHD are ok but not present day quality.

This movie is so underrated and was ahead of its time with story telling. This is the first time this movie has any special features on it. The 4K presentation will not disappoint. A young boy named Danny is given a magic ticket and is transported into the fictional world of his favorite action film character, Jack Slater. When the villain from that world stumbles upon the ticket and uses it to enter the real world, Danny and Jack must team up to stop him.

I love this movie. Its a movie of arnold making fun of himself and action movies themselves. Some people didnt get the joke. The plot is interesting. What if you were magically put in a movie with your favorite action hero and you had to try and convince arnold he was in a movie all while battling the bad guys of the movie world? It has a lot of action and it was Arnold at his funniest. It is a clever movie. This is actually my favorite arnold movie after T1 and T2.

definitely pick this up! i definitely dont remember watching this movie as a kid otherwise i woulda remembered. so its a bout a kid that gets this golden ticket and gets transported into a world of movies where there are no consequences. he finds arnold and his nemesis. long story short they got all transported back to the real world and they start messing around with people. its a fun movie for the family

Arnold is hilarious and this movie is so much fun!

I was very surprised to see this one come to 4K after how split the reviews were on this back in the 90s. I always welcome catalog titles to the format and after a few watches of LAH i knew this was a day 1 purchase. If you haven't seen it you may want to watch it once to see if you like it before shoveling out $25 or more. The steelbook is gorgeous and the slipcover is hideous but atleast we got options

I can't wait to watch this underrated movie. So glad I was able to purchase a copy as sometimes certain steelbooks sell out quickly. I have heard the original Blu-Ray was a very poor quality transfer, so I'm excited that the studio (from the reviews I've read) has finally put in the time to put out a higher quality transfer. Also love the artwork on the front of the steelbook case!

A great film that was massively misunderstood upon its initial release. Last action hero is a satire film poking fun at the over the top action movies of the 1980s and 1990s, once you come to terms with that and not be overly critical of the movie im certain anybody will enjoy this movie. The steelbook for this one is really great to and i generally do not like steelbooks.

Childhood favorite of mine. So glad to finally see this movie get a proper release, and the 4k steelbook doesn't disappoint. Great looking steelbook and a beautiful 4k transfer by Sony. This movie is still a blast to this day - so much fun and the satirical elements were so ahead of their time with Hollywood still cranking out Jack Slater-type movies. This one never gets old

Since I saw this in the theater when it first came out, I have always put this one as a top ten guilty pleasure. Now I have the opportunity to see this in 4K with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack. While I did see improvement from the previous Blu-ray edition for the video, it was the audio, especially any helicopter flyover that really showed the improvement.

Sure, it bombed at the box office. But it's a fun film with a great soundtrack. Something of a cult classic, but a worthy watch for any fan of the movies. The 4K is the best the movie has ever look, and this steelbook package looks gorgeous. Recommended!

The Blu-ray hasn’t aged very well, so this new 4K release didn’t need much help to be an improvement, but it most certainly is a huge one! It’s safe to say the film never looked this good on home media. The audio is pretty good, and you will know you are watching an action film! Recommended!

Yes, it is, actually, a somewhat bad film, and yet, somehow, oddly, a good film. It is a bonkers creation, cartoon, action, fantasy picture, lunacy, satire. It is remarkable the studio told McTiernan, "sure, here is a large pile of cash, go make this total bizarre mashup creation". Is it a mess? Yes. Is it entertaining and fun? Yes it is.

I enjoyed this movie when it first aired in 93. If your a fan of Arnold, and enjoy the humor of the 90’s based action films it’s a must watch. Imagine if your favorite action hero came to life and brought their fallout onto your life?

A fun movie that I haven't watch in years. It was always the pan and scan version of the movie, but watching this in widescreen and without any of the TV edits, is much, much better than what I imagined. The special features are a great incentive to purchasing the movie. What a great idea for a movie.
