Ledge Stax vs Flex cost is closer than you think.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up going with the more expensive Stax over the "budget" Flex due to the price breakdown: • Ledger Stax: $400 (includes a $40 protective folio case) • Ledger Flex: $250 (does not include a folio case, which costs an additional $30) • Price Difference = $400 - $280 = $120 I decided the larger 3.7" screen + wireless charging + included $40 folio case that comes with Stax is worth the additional $80 at the end of the day. For me owning these touch screen hardware wallets require their protective cases.

Secure, easy to use, but watch the fees
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I feel less vulnerable with this Ledger Stax. There are a number of secure procedures in place that makes housing your Crypto as secure as possible, not to mention this little device looks sleek and is very user friendly. Set up is easy with the Ledger Live companion app which essentially acts as an exchange through crypto exchange partnerships. You can buy swap, receive and sell a plethora of coins and tokens, 5000+ according to their website. The selling of coins seem to be limited to BTC and ETH, which would require a some swap transactions if you are looking to cash out. You can even receive NFTs. Even earn on your crypto through staking. The app literally has it all. So how is this more secure? All your transactions dependent on having your Ledger Stax on and unlocked and connected to the app. You have a 6 digit pin to unlock the ledger device which has rotating numbers on the screen. When you go into the app to get the address for the coin you want to transfer your coins into, you are prompted to verify the address on the ledger so that you can ensure there was no compromise in the Live App. I am yet to send any coins from this ledger but I would venture to guess there would be some sort of validation process from the Ledger device making it nearly impossible for someone to send coins out of your account. This validation steps makes me fell more comfortable that my crypto is secure and out of the hands of hackers. I have had crypto houses on other exchanges before that have been hacked or just shuts down. So this is a good step towards security. I do feel a little vulnerable about having a physical device that could break, get lost or stolen. However it does seem to be restorable with the 24 word recovery phrase. Which probably mean you would have to shell out money for a new device as the Ledger Live App has to be connected to a device. With the 24 word recovery phase obviously opens up for the threat of the account being hacked, but as long as you keep that phase secure and not accessible by any means online, you should feel comfortable your coins are secure. Now for the fees. This isn’t anything new to crypto users. Transfers from one address to another always has fees. Some may be more than others, which you’ll want to keep in mind to determine if it is worth swapping your current asset before sending them to your Ledger. Of course there are other considerations such as the trading fees and gains/losses, but I was shocked by one coin fee that I lost 5% just by moving my asset from one wallet to another. The device itself is a nice slick design and customizable. Apps for each account automatically gets downloaded as you set up to receive coins from the Live app. Comes with a magnetic case which I think could be better as it can slip out. And as mentioned before it has a 6 digit pass code to open up the device as times out fairly quickly to ensure your device is secure. I recommend this for anyone who has a decent amount of crypto. Obviously significantly more than the cost of this unit to be worth it.

Very nice little gadget
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Moving from an older, cheaper Ledger wallet to this is night and day. It's so much nicer to use. From the larger e-paper touch screen to the battery to the wireless charging. It's just an overall nice device. Setup was fairly easy. You can use the Ledger Live app on your phone or download the Ledger Live app on your desktop. Everything is step by step explained on the device screen and in the app. Didn't take long to get everything set up and updated. I chose to restore my old Ledger wallet by entering my old secret phrase. The app then guides you about how to install your currency apps and start transferring funds. Using this device compared to other wallets I've used is just so much easier. It's response and refresh time are a small sacrifice made to improve battery life (since e-paper never needs to draw power after the screen is refreshed) but it doesn't hurt performance. Typing is easy enough, you just can't type crazy fast. Compared to the 2 side to side buttons and an enter key that were all almost impossible to press on my old Ledger, I'll take this any day. It just feels like you're using a fairly small phone. The main point of the device is to keep all of the private information about your wallets on device. It connects with the phone app (or the desktop app) as an interface and only transfers public information like the public transfer addresses across any of it's channels (Bluetooth, NFC or USB). So after it's set up, you really only need the device to verify information and authorize transactions. It does give you a better sense of security that you have to go through the extra verification and approval steps on the device. The Ledger Live app will display your address for receiving funds without any approval needed but warns you about not verifying the address on your device as well. Once you get the hang of this, it's pretty friction-less to receive funds. Just select receive in the app and copy the address or present the QR code to whoever is sending. I've found that verifying the address isn't super necessary but it's a pretty quick process to just make sure the address is the same that's stored on your device. Sending funds is where the device really shines since it's basically a hardware 2FA device that forces you to review everything about the transaction and hold an onscreen button to sign and approve the transaction. This means without the physical device and your pincode, as well as the paired Ledger Live app, no one will ever be able to transfer your currency out of your wallet. Extra cool stuff that is definitely not required but nice to have are the ability to use a picture from your photo album (or an NFT) as the background lock screen image. Wireless charging works great even through the included case. The curved e-paper display looks great and has some nice status icons to display battery and lock status as well as whatever name you gave your wallet. Build quality also feels and looks very nice. Besides the device having a pretty paltry 1MB of storage space for apps, I can't think of many other downsides. It doesn't NEED a lot of storage for it's main function but I the two currency apps I installed (BTC and BCH) already took up 20% of that storage. I don't have a crazy amount of different digital currencies to manage so this isn't a big deal for me but I can imagine you running into a wall if you need to install 10 currency apps. I can't think of any real reason for such a small amount of storage in 2025 but it is what it is. Other than that, it's a very cool device. If you're looking to more your digital currencies offline completely, you have a bunch of options both from Ledger and others. You don't NEED all the niceties the Stax has, but you'll want them when you use other devices that don't have batteries and need to be connected to power just to use or devices that have tiny screens you need to scroll 6 pages to verify an address. Or devices with tiny buttons that literally hurt your fingers to use. They still do the same job, but they aren't as much of a joy to actually use as this one. If it's in your budget, give this one a look.

A Secure Cold Storage with E Ink Technology
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been carrying my crypto with the Ledger Stax Crypto Hardware Wallet for some time now, I have to admit that it is among the most amazing devices I have ever carried. If you wish something that is both safe and simple to use and are interested in digital currencies, this wallet could be a wonderful fit for you.It stands out for several reasons and does a great job of effortlessly balancing security with other elements. Let us first address the design before anything else. One somewhat unique product is the Ledger Stax. Its trendy and fashionable impression comes from its curved E Ink touchscreen. The screen seems really sharp, is smooth and quick. It is absolutely better than the basic screens seen on most outdated hardware wallets. It gives the whole gadget a high-end feel, which is essential if you are keeping something valuable, like bitcoin. You will not mind carrying it about it feels strong in your palm yet is not heavy. A great addition as well is the Folio that comes with the wallet. Comprising soft materials that guard the Stax from scratches and bumps, it is a protective cover for the device. The Folio almost like a protective case for your phone, fits the wallet well. The extra layer of protection makes me very happy since it helps to maintain the Stax looking fresh new. The curved E Ink touchscreen is one of my favorite features. E Ink screens are quite energy-efficient, hence the Ledger Stax is not constantly charged necessary. Unlike OLED or LED displays, which are present on most gadgets, you shouldn't live in continual concern about battery life. Under any kind of lighting, the E Ink display is quite easy to read, it has no glare or brightness issues. It looks good as well. Although the screen's curve is not very obvious, it display seems modern and advanced from it. Moving about the interface is simple with the touchscreen. It runs without any incidents, I have not run across any lag or unresponsiveness. Swiping, tapping, and engaging with the wallet will let you utilize it in the same manner you would your smartphone. This is a big improvement from earlier Ledger devices, which needed every operation to be accomplished by pressing buttons or connecting to a computer. Extremely simple setup and user interface When I got the Ledger Stax, I worried that setting it up would be challenging yet, it turned out to be far easier than I had thought. Clear instructions abound in the wallet, and setup was quick and simple. All you have to use the Stax is download the Ledger Live program on your computer or cellphones. The Stax Bluetooth-connects to the app. Those who are constantly on the run should be relieved not having to worry about always plugging it in every time they wish to use it. The user interface is simple enough even for people who are not tech savvy. With the help of a smartphone, I could quickly add my crypto holdings, check my balances, and read my transaction history straight forward. The Ledger Live software handles most of the work for your safe and private interface is the Stax. One major benefit is that using it is not complicated or time-consuming. Let us now talk about security as, when it comes to a hardware wallet for a cryptocurrency, it is the most crucial element to give thought. The Ledger Stax has outstanding security, thus I feel safe. Its chip is a secure element (SE), the same type of chip used in passports and credit cards to guard important data. This ensures that always on the device your private keys, which let you access your money, will stay. Your bitcoin will thus be safe even if your computer or phone is hacked. If you misplace or damage your wallet, you may also backup it using a recovery phrase a collection of words that lets you rebuild your crypto holdings. The backup is set up in a straightforward manner intended to be easy without compromising security. Should something go wrong, you will be instructed to jot down a list of words acting as your fail-safe. Should you be worried about losing your backup, you can store it in a safe place to guarantee never loss of your cryptocurrencies. I find very interesting the fact that the Ledger Stax does not require constant internet connection to operate at all. This greatly lessens the possibility of cyberattacks. Only when you need to conduct a transaction will you link the Stax to your computer or smartphone, therefore lowering the likelihood of hacking. Best Convenience Available One clear benefit is Bluetooth. The Ledger Stax connects to your phone or computer wirelessly, so you have no trouble with cord or port locating. The wallet fits right in your bag or pocket, and the Bluetooth range is more than enough for daily usage. It has worked perfectly on both my phone and laptop the connection is strong and safe. For many who travel frequently, Bluetooth connectivity is a wonderful convenience. You won't have to handle a lot of setup or carry-along extra cord. You are ready to utilize by just connecting the Stax to your gadget. The wireless configuration is quick and most definitely facilitates use overall. Battery Life: There is no constant charging needed. The E Ink screen of the Ledger Stax uses power well, so enabling a great battery life. I find that I hardly need to charge it very often. Actually, I normally charge it once a week or as indicated by knowledge of more regular usage. The gadget lasts far more than you would expect for a touchscreen since its display is not bright and uses little battery. Over the past few days, I have used it extensively; it is still in good working order and has a reasonable battery level. Knowing that the E Ink screen uses less power helps me also to know that forgetting to charge it won't be disastrous. All things considered, anyone who wants to safely save their coins would prefer the Ledger Stax Crypto Hardware Wallet. This one strong tool integrates security, ease of use, and elegant design. Its curved E Ink screen, Bluetooth connectivity, and simple UI make using fun. Moreover, the backup choices and safe element chip give you piece of mind knowing your digital assets are safe. You should consider the Ledger Stax if you wish a user-friendly solution without compromising security and are worried about protecting your coins. In terms of crypto wallets, this is definitely a step ahead, Ledger has done a great job of making both design and functionality simple to use. Anyone seeking both security and convenience will find considerable value in this wallet.

Functional, Secure and Stylish!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been curious about getting a cold storage crypto wallet for a couple years now, but I wasn't really interested in any of them until I saw the Ledger Stax Crypto wallet. Once I saw it, I knew this is the one I wanted to get. The wallet arrived quickly and was packaged really well to keep it safe during the shipment. Inside the box, I found the Ledger Stax device, a short USB-C power cable, a magnetic folio case, three brightly colored, heavy paper recovery sheets to write down my secret recovery phrase, some fun stickers, a card with a note from Ledger, and some regulatory info. Setting up the Stax wallet was a breeze. I downloaded the Ledger app to my phone, followed the simple instructions, and within minutes, I was using the app and getting a feel for how to use the wallet. Learning how to use it was straightforward, and transferring crypto to it wasn’t hard to learn at all and I found it to be a quick and hassle-free experience. What I really love about the Ledger Stax, beyond the ultimate level of security, is the style and design of the wallet. It’s super sleek, compact, and lightweight, totally perfect for everyday use and keeping on you at all times, if you wanted to. The magnetic feature is genius, making it easy to stack multiple Stax wallets together if you wanted to.. The folio case is top-notch and looks to be made from high quality materials that are going to keep the Stax wallet secure without adding any noticeable extra weight or bulkiness that other protected cases might add. The curved E Ink touchscreen is a cool feature to finally get to use on a product. This is the first device I’ve owned with an E Ink display and I really like it. I love that the lock screen image I choose stays on display even when the device is powered off, adding a personal touch that really looks great. It's so odd to need to find a light source to see my screen, since there is no backlighting but that’s something you get used to. I’m not entirely new to crypto but I’m also no expert. From what I’ve read and learned, cold storage wallets like the Ledger Stax are the most secure way to store crypto. I am a digital artist and I recently started selling NFTs so having a wallet like this to store my earnings safely is reassuring. Overall I really love how easy the Ledger Stax is to use, the premium build quality, and the security it brings. The Bluetooth connectivity and wireless charging work really well. A few minor downsides would be that the E Ink screen doesn’t have a backlight, and the internal storage for apps is a bit limited. Also, the Ledger Recover backup service costs extra, if that’s something you might be interested in using. I’m really happy I got the Ledger Stax. It’s functional, secure and stylish! It’s exactly what I was looking for and I highly recommend it to anyone serious about crypto, whether you’re new to the space, a seasoned pro or somewhere in between, like me.

The Ultimate Crypto Wallet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned several crypto hardware wallets over the last 10 years. None of them as unique as the Ledger Stax. The 3.7” integrated E-Ink touch screen display is the perfect interface for showing off your favorite NFT image. The screen is responsive (for an E-Ink display) and crystal clear. The build quality is awesome, constructed of aluminum and plastic, but still feeling premium in the hand, without unnecessary weight. The embedded magnets and wireless charging are a nice touch too. The units can apparently stack, I only have one, so I can’t test that, but it does attach really nicely to the included magnetic wallet sleeve. The Stax supports over 5,500 assets, including the obvious Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and more. With a stable and easy to set up Bluetooth connection, managing your wallet on a mobile device or Bluetooth-enabled computers is a breeze. I also connected mine to a PC via USB-C and had no issue managing it with the Ledger Live desktop application. Connecting the Stax to a 3rd party wallet like MetaMask was also easy and made interacting with DAPs a piece of cake. Although the wallet is incredible, it does have some drawbacks worth noting. The price point makes it one of the most expensive crypto hardware wallets on the market. Additionally, the non-replaceable rechargeable battery might give you some reservations over it’s long term use. The E-Ink display is a major plus for me, however, I can see some having reservations with the over the top display and features. The “stackable” feature might not be necessary for your average person, but man is it cool! The Ledger Stax is an outstanding option for crypto enthusiasts who prioritize convenience and superior security. For those willing to invest in a premium hardware wallet, the Ledger Stax offers an undeniably incredible user experience.

Great crypto device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ledger Stax is a great cold storage wallet that can make even a novice at crypto feel comfortable. My girlfriend and I first got into crypto at the beginning of 2021 so we’re pretty familiar with buying and selling crypto (especially her) but have mostly kept it on exchanges online. The Ledger Stax is the first one she was really felt comfortable with trying to move some to a cold storage wallet. We’ve used a few different exchanges to buy and sell on such as Robinhood, Binance and Coinbase and it was extremely easy to transfer some coins to the Ledger. We did a test run with some Doge from Robinhood and the process couldn’t have been easier. The device is about the height of a key fob for a car and maybe the width of one and a half of them. To charge the device you can use the included USB-C or wireless charging with MagSafe compatibility which was really cool to see. The device overall feels very nice from materials used to the fluidity of the touch screen. The magnetic case ensures the screen won’t get scratched when it’s in a purse of pocket. The Stax is a great little crypto wallet that’s easy to use wether you’re a novice or an expert.

Great screen, easy touch interface, better apps!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my ledger nano X, this device is easier to use, still has bluetooth for use with a phone, works plugged in to a laptop, etc. Having security key support (passkey) and a touchscreen makes it easier. The E-ink screen is easy to read and doesn't need to be charged often (in fact i haven't charged it in two weeks).

Best Hardware Wallet I've Ever Used
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The title says it all. The Ledger Stax is the best hardware crypto wallet I have ever used. The Stax is a hardware crypto wallet that features an e-ink touch screen display as well as Bluetooth connectivity. Included in the box is a usb cable, magnetic wallet cover, informational leaflet, and multiple cards to write down your 24 word security phrase. Setting up the Stax is similar to setting up any other hardware wallet. First you download the app either on PC or smartphone, and then just follow the steps to install the particular wallets you need. You can also buy and trade crypto directly within the Ledger app, using popular exchanges like Coinbase. It's all very seamless and simple enough to figure out even if you are brand new to crypto. Using the Stax is very satisfying. Usually with hardware wallets, the user interface is anything but friendly. However, with the Stax, the touch screen is large enough that it is as simple as using any other touch screen device. Input is responsive and accurate. I really appreciate the inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity, which allows you to connect directly to your smartphone and complete transactions without the use of a PC. This does mean there is a battery in the Stax unit itself. Only time will tell how this wallet will stand up to the test of time. I can only imagine that even if it is useful with a dead battery, that eventually, the battery will swell like all rechargables eventually do. So while the bluetooth connectivity is appreciated for convenience, I don't think I would consider this device for long term storage (10+ years). I wouldn't want an exploding or swelling battery to cause me to lose investments. That being said, as long as you are aware of that risk for long term storage, the Stax is an absolute joy to use, and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice, easy to use hardware wallet.
