Overall this laptop exceeded my expectations. I have the i3, so I was worried there would be a significant performance drop from the higher core models. I have several windows and programs running simultaneously, and the computer is still lightning fast. You will like this laptop if you want a large laptop at a low price point. Being a grad student and running a business I needed a laptop with a big screen so I can "snap" all my windows and view them all at once. This screen is big enough to use microsofts snap feature effectively. This is a good laptop if you need to be productive, and I recommend it for a student or business man. The laptops materials feel cheap, and stain very easily, but I don't care about that as much as others might. There are many comments about the bloatware, superfish in particular, and I will talk about my experiences. This computer comes with A TON of bloatware, which can take up precious space, and slow down the computers performance. The very first thing I did was download free malwarebytes, and it instantly found 79 issues. Keep in mind this was without any internet surfing, or importing any other software or programs other than malwarebytes. Online articles recommend using a program called PC decrapifier to clean out the PC but I would advise against this. Unless you really know what your doing, taking this programs advice can cause serious performance effects on the pc, because you could uninstall drivers or software that could actually benefit the computer. PC decrapifier also does a poor job of actually removing the software. Your best bet is to go into control pannel and manually uninstall programs you know are bloatware. After I ran malwarebytes and did a manual uninstall of all the bloatware, the computer was lightning fast and clean as a whistle. Understand that with lower end computer models the margins for companies are incredibly low, which are why some companies are exiting the laptop market. Companies like lenovo pack their computer with bloatware because the developers of these programs pay lenovo big money to be featured on the website at launch. So while this can hurt computer performance, it's done to make the price point lower to the end user, so you would be paying a lot more for this machine without it. The good news is, all of it can be taken off. The entire process takes about an hour and a half, and make sure you malwarebytes is the first thing you run before doing anything else. Out of the box, the laptop just needs some TLC, but after that it's a great machine for it's price point. Keep in mind if you want to run taxing software such as photoshop you may want to upgrade to the i5 model or higher. As i stated before,

Got this for my mom who needs a laptop to check email, surf the web, and perform minor photo editing and printing. Decided to get this instead of a chrome book due to potential application compatibility issues with chrome book. Good computer for the price (less $300 before tax) with an intel I3 processor. Keyboard is a little narrow (accidentally hit "/" instead of "." at times if not careful) Still getting used to windows 10 without a touchscreen.

This is a great laptop for the price, roughly $360. It has a nice list of features like an i3 processor, DVD drive, both analog and digital video outputs (VGA and HDMI), USB 3.0, etc. The keyboard is a joy to type on and includes a full numeric keypad on the right side. I bought two of these for my daughters to use for school work as their first laptop. Windows 10 is a great upgrade from Windows 8, and this is coming from a Mac guy. I recommended these to my company for light office use, powerpoint, word, etc.

Was in the market for a new laptop as my previous one well over 9 years old. It satisfies all my basic uses of minimal web browsing and simple computing needs. Great amount of storage for music, photos, videos. My only drawback is battery life; only about 4 hours. However, I don't use the laptop "on the go." Again, great price if you're looking for a simple computer for basic uses.

I was looking for a laptop with an Intel processor with good speed (i3, i5 or i7). This was the cheapest laptop from a brand name that I could find that had any of the above processors. I earlier had a Toshiba with Celeron that I regretted buying because of the slow speed. This one fits the bill with not being very expensive and being fast enough for regular work - email, watching movies, MS office, etc. I have only owned it for a month so can't comment on long-term reliability but am happy with the purchase for now. Also liked the Dolby sound.

I think for the price it's a pretty good LT. Ill just put a few things. The DVD player is a little fragile and the USB ports aren't very tight meaning sometimes when charging a phone the computer detects it disconnecting at times cause it's really touchy No DVD app to watch movies but you can get a free one. Getting about 2-3 hours of battery time Screen looks great, keyboard is pretty good Sounds good Got a wireless mouse for it The standard mouse is ok Lots of memory so if you are saving movies and pics then its great Apps included are pretty good and useful Some really cool features Didn't fit in a standard bag for 15.6 Its pretty slim though and not heavy. Overall for $300 it was worth it

My only complain is the battery life. I paid $300 for the G50 on sale. The price was right for the specs offered. I wish it was 8 gb instead of 4gb but with 1 TB you can't go wrong. Has dvd wr as well. Im happy with purchase.

Was not looking for a Ferrari. I was looking for the best price unit with the right quality parts such as an Intel processor, etc. I would always buy the latest and most expensive computers, and then I got smart. A number of those high priced frills won't get my Office Excel and Word projects done any faster or better. Now I buy what meets my needs and save $$$$. If you are not gaming or doing heavy graphics then this a good computer workhorse for everyday business and home use. It meets all my expectations.

I purchased this laptop for a two-computer database for an auction via a wired LAN. The computer serves its purpose pretty well. I have Microsoft Office Professional 2007 installed with all OS/hardware/software updates (12/28/15). The computer does not seem to hesitate when loading or running programs. The only real issue I have with the computer other than running Windows is that the trackpad click buttons do not respond at times unless I press on a "sweet spot" or press rather firmly. The trackpad and surface is also fairly rough. I get used to it after using it a while but it is not very pleasant at first. More on the Windows comment: I have two iPhones, Airport Extreme router, and 1TB MacBook Pro 15" 1TB flash so as to establish that I do not mind spending money on speed, feel, and reliability. Windows is user-friendly but getting through its security can be a pain. Setting up the Windows 10 network and giving each computer read/write permissions to the other was sort of cumbersome. My third angle of approach succeeded, and the two were able to modify documents simultaneously with little to no wait -- using wired Netgear 1750 AC router. The laptop was new out of the box so it had a clean OS installation. Other than the click button quirk, I was not disappointed with the hardware and overall performance of the laptop. Bottom line: if I need a computer for typing Word documents, web surfing, etc. regardless of feel I would buy this laptop again. It handles these processes well. For a computer that clicks and tabs over a thousand times an auction, I would not buy this computer again. This computer had around a $330 price tag at the time of purchase (Dec 2015). I should have spent another $40 or $50 and went with the next one in line.

My 12 year old grandson chose this laptop for gaming. It's hard to pull him away from it and it performs very well. I would choose this for myself also, as it does everything that my desktop does, has a large, bright screen, is lightweight and fast.

I really didn't do a lot of research before I bought this laptop. Usually I would pore over information for weeks before I make a purchase of this type. However, I chose, based on my price constraints and time constraints, to go with popular opinion and accept the consumer reviews for this purchase. You guys were right! It's been a great laptop so far, with but a couple of minor issues; The battery is drained very quickly and the touchpad sometimes gets hung up. Neither of these are huge issues though. And I'm really digging Windows 10....

We were looking for a Christmas present for our grand children. Their school work requires online access and rather then buying them a tablet we decided that a computer would be a better alternative. This way once their school work was done they could play online games with their friends. This machine fits the bill perfectly and especially so for the money.

This computer definitely doesn't have a lot of new technology, but it works very well, isn't terribly heavy and the value for the money is excellent. The only thing I'd say is that it could use more system memory, but if you need a new laptop and don't have a thousand extra dollars to spend on one of the 2-in-1s, this laptop is definitely the way to go.

Bought this laptop for my wife because her Toshiba with 250GB HD was nearly full with pics and videos of the kids. It should take her many more years to fill up this 1TB. Besides the pictures she mainly surfs the web so not a lot of high performance was needed. This laptop fits the bill at a great value. There was an HP model in the store with slightly more RAM and a touch screen but $140 more expensive. Glad I decided to save the money and go for the Lenovo. My only gripe, and the reason I gave it 4 stars, is the Seagate external hard drive we have to automatically backup the computer is not fully compatible with Windows 10, so the backup must be done manually. The blame probably deserves to be placed more with Seagate and/or Microsoft, but it's a pain, and I have to take my frustration out on somebody, so I guess Lenovo is just part of the wrong review at the wrong time. All in all I would buy again and recommend to others.

The laptop works well. Games play well with only occasional lagging, which may be a result of internet vs. laptop. It is great for kids, beginners, and even those experienced users who just want a nice, quality basic laptop. Comparing this laptop to laptops with similar specs, I give it 5 stars. However, if you are used to running on a very powerful pc or Mac, I would say this would be 3-stars in comparison. But I think comparing this computer to a very powerful laptop/computer would be silly since anyone who buys this computer knows it is not the "top of the line." Apples for apples, this is a great computer.

We were looking for a tablet but the screens were small for us and we didnt want to spend a lot of money for a larger screen tablet. This laptop is lightweight and has a great screen size. We were only using it for basic view of office files and internet info so it is perfect for our needs.
